OK, some of the less technically minded people (and that includes me!) amongst us need help posting pictures. First you need to upload your image to the internet. If you have your own webspace then you can post them there - if not you need to find an image hosting service.
Many people use Auctionwatch to host their images (including me!) - they are free, reliable, and easy to use, but there are quite a few others (just try a search for "image hosting").

Frozen's Guide to Auctionwatch:

1. Go to www.auctionwatch.com and open an account. Don't worry - it's free!

2. Having signed up, choose the Auction Manager option from the top bar.

3. From there choose the Manage Image option from the menu.

4. OK, now you should be looking at the Image Hosting page. You can up load any images you'd like to post from here as jpegs or gifs.

5. Click on the browse button on the screen - this will allow you to select any images you wish to upload from your computer. You can upload several images at a time.

6. Once your images/images have uploaded they will appear as "thumbnails".

7. Click on the thumbnail of the image you want to post. This will bring up the full size image. Right click your mouse button down over the image and choose "Copy Image Location".

8. Go to the "Toon Zone Drawing Board" and click "New Thread" or, if in an existing thread, "Post Reply".

9. To post an image using codes write [ IMG ] (but without the spaces between the text and the brackets...) then write [ /IMG ]. Place your cursor between [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ] and paste the image's HTML code. Alternatively, just click the 'IMG' button on the VB code panel (the bunch of buttons over the main text filed where all the 'bold' and other type of buttons are. When the pop up screen appears, paste your HTML code in the field replacing the existing" http://" text!

10. Fill in the rest of your post as normal.

11. Click the "Preview Post/Reply" button just to ensure everything's OK, then click "Submit New Thread/Reply".

If anybody has any problems, and things don't work as they should, then please don't hesitate to PM me, and I'll do hat I can to make sure everybody can get their stuff on display!!:D

I signed up at Auctionwatch, and tried to click on the thumbnail of the image, right click your mouse button down over the image and choose "Copy Image Location". , but when I do, I can't find it on the menu. I use A Mac computer. Is that why? Can it be done with A Mac, or dose it have to be done differenty? Please let me know.

Alright, so I need to figure out why I can't use any of my avatars in this forum? I've recently signed up, is that a possible reason why?

I think you need to have ten posts before you can have an avatar!

And mbaker - your using a mac may be part of the problem. I know that some PC users have difficulty with Auctionwatch merely because of the browser they use!!!

So is there A way to do this with A Mac, or isn't there? Please let me know.

Try searching the net for other image hosting services that may not have problems dealing with your mac - there are more than a few.

That's nice of yer! I've got some 'not toon related' work I've wanted to display, even if there is elfwood.com, that's too commercialized and all about ..ggrr..anyways, it's far too overrated and ..*rolls eyes and walks off* I won't waste my breath..

To be honesty, mbaker, I really couldn't tell you - I'm an artist not a tech-head! Why don't you put a thread up asking for help - I'm sure some of our other moe technically minded members can help you out!

Sorry!

Edit: Whoops! Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to the dates. I didn't know this thread was so old...it was at the top so I didn't think it would be too old, but it was..

Well, AuctionWatch seems to be asking for my credit card number now before letting me log in, so I guess I'll be giving that one a try. Thanks. ;)

I had that problem. I've gone to geekshelf. Seems straightforward there.

I recommend against that. Internet hosting is not worth paying for, especially when you can get it for free at some other place.

For you Mac users, once your drawing is posted on Geekshelf, click on the image you want to post. This will bring up the full size image. Right click your mouse button down over the image and choose "open image in new window", and copy the URL. Then click on the IMG button, and paste in the URL on the drawing board.
