I found something interesting when I was reading an artical about Angel Links in one of my old Animarica Magazines. The creaters of Outlaw Star purposed a second series about the Outlaw Star crew called Sword of Wind. Does anyone else know about this project. Are they making it. Since Outlaw Star was so popular on Cartoon Network, could Cartoon Network fund the creation of another season of Outlaw Star like the did Big O and Reboot? For that matter could they also show Angel Links since it takes place in the same universe as Outlaw Star? That would be To The Rule

Unfortunately the creator of Outlaw Star claimed they wouldn't have the time to do another series...I wished season one was more than 26 episodes.

It's certainly not out of reason that they could order more, although with Big O season 2, the option for 26 additional ep's if the new 13 go well, all the acquired anime, and the Venture brothers, one wonders if they have enough budget to co-sponser another anime ( although they keep trying to get more Bebop, but that makes total sense ).
I heard of Angel Links. Unfortunately, it doesn't look all that great. It features that police team from that ep. when Gene and co. got arrested. They get hired by a 16 year-old girl who inherited a corporation and has a bust size that would normally be too big even for an adult, which is also the home of a bat-thing that can turn into a sword  , and togther they run a free pirate hunting service, and supposedly the plot from what I heard doesn't move much beyond that.
EDIT : You beat me: I didn't know about the creator not having more time.

I dout that Outlaw Star will have another so I say that that Angel Links would be the only thing left.

Eh, if they want to air Angel Links they should just air the first six episodes or so, since the show changes from fairly decent to total crap at about that time.
As for its connections to OS, here's a list of what I remember:
1. Fred Lou and his bodyguards have a 2 second cameo near the beginning of the first episode.
2. In the sixth episode (I think) Clyde and Eris, the bartender and waitress from Setinel 3, make appearances as well. It actually doesn't name them as such, but they look almost exactly alike, so I assume it's supposed to be them.
3. Goryu the pirate has two female assistants that can merge with a ship to pilot it a la Melfina.
4. Duuz and Valeria, from episode 19 of OS, are main characters in this show (though Valeria acts a lot different than she did in OS).
5. Grappler ships are seen here and there.
Not really that many similarites, really. I would have liked to see Gene walk across the screen at some point, but oh well.

The best basis for another Outlaw Star series would probably the second manga series that last I heard was in development. should it come to fruition, I'd say it'd probably be the best thing to adapt. Further still, I'd like to see it air on AS, because that way, Gene can actually be a scumbag.

I would love to see a prequel of Bebop made that follows Spike's past as a member of the Red Dragon syndicate. They also could try and have more episodes of Trigun made since it continues as a manga right now called Trigun Maximum.

YES! More Outlaw Star would be VERY much appreciated. *Loves the Hot Spring Episode*
No, I never heard of this project. Last I heard the creator said . . . NO more but there could be more manga. *Shrugs*

For a good long while, it looked like an Outlaw Star sequel was a given. The original was a huge success here in the states, and some concept art and plot details from a possible OVA sequel were leaked to the public. I was so sure that it was going to happen that I kind of took it for granted and shoved it into the back of my mind.
I didn't even remember about the project until this thread came up. I'm willing to bet that, by this point, an Outlaw Star sequel is near-impossible. Anime fans are fickle, and most have moved on by now. Besides, I don't know what else needs to be done... the original series closed things up pretty neatly.

Trigun Maximum is NOT the sequel to Trigun, it is the second half of Trigun as we know it, only manga-fied with slightly different occurrences. and Captain Picard

Cowboy Bebop prequel - Wouldn't we all. As a matter of fact, and correct me if I'm wrong, last I heard the Cb creators were beginning to lighten up on their "No more CB EVER!" stance thanks to pressure by CN or fans or something. 'Course that's more than likely an interent rumor so I wouldn't count on it.
Outlaw Star sequel - see randomguy's post. The demand of an Outlaw Star sequel is gone. Most have moved on by now, and even though the OS's ending set itself up for a sequel, no one really seems interested anymore. It'd be nice, but I wouldn't count on it.
Trigun Maximum - An animated version of this isn't going to happen. The anime and manga diverged completely around episode 16 so it's pretty impossible to keep the same story especially since youknowwho is still alive in Trigun Maximum. A Trigun anime sequel would have to be built from scratch.

It would be great to see another Outlaw Star series, just too bad Cartoon Network didn't do for Outlaw Star like what they did for Big O

All in all, I'm glad CN chose to get behind Big O, since it most definatley ended in a cliffhanger, while OS ended well. I wouldn't mind uncut OS, if it would work on Adult Swim.

The more, the merrier so I voted for both. And from the looks of the trailer, Angel Links is very different from Outlaw Star.

an outlaw star sequel would be cool, but I'm certainly not holding my breath for one.
and Angel Links was pure crap. Its ties to OLS are slim to nill, as I seriously doubt an Outlaw Star episode would feature a 16 year old girl that somehow knows martial arts well and has a little sword-changing critter live in her cleavage...

This is sort of related to this thread:
Takehito Ito (creator of OS) will be at AnimeNext in NY (10/3-5). Maybe we can ask him (yet again) about the possibility of any more OS (in any form)
