For me, two words:
New Year's. Traditionally, I am a 9 person, but on that, I stayed up until 12:30. I remember watching "Aqua Tenn", Sealab "That was funny", and The Brak Show (fortunately, with Weird Al doing a guest voice). I remembered in June, and started to watch it.

Started watching at the very beginning. I was very curious about it, and it surpassed all of my expectations. :)

It was around 12:20 at night on September 1st 2001 and I was bored. So I turned on the television and flipped to Cartoon Network as they occasionally have good stuff on in the late night. To my suprise, I found myself staring at anime, and as I hadn't really seen any since the Sci-Fi channel dropped it, I settled in to watch the last five minutes or so of what I later learned was the first episode of Cowboy Bebop. As it ended I fervently, but doubtfully, hoped for another episode and indeed there was. Of course Tank and the OP knocked me out of my seat and I took to the show immediately. The following Thursday I caught the second airing of the block and was hooked from that point on.

About three weeks later I learned that my friends had also takent to the block when one of the engaged me in a discussion of Cowboy Bebop's use of music, specifically Rain and Green Bird during the Cathedral scene of "Ballad of Fallen Angels". Yay!

This is a long story even though it's kind of a short one.

Saturday, July 20, 2002 (I think :o). About 12:45 PM. I was supposed to be sleeping, but that didn't seem to be happening. I turned on the tv, and was greeted by Cowboy Bebop "Jupiter Jazz". I had seen the beginning of Yu Yu Hakusho and Home Movies before, but never any more of Adult Swim. I saw Cowboy Bebop and loved it. Afterwards, they aired "The Real Folk Blues" I and II (CB marathon night). It spoiled the entire series for me, but it was worth it. It got me into both anime and Adult Swim in general in one fell swoop.

I became good friends with ASC the next night. I forgot about Adult Swim Action for a few weeks, but when I came back to it, Yu Yu Hakusho was starting its second run, and Inuyasha was coming in two weeks, so I gave both shows a chance. I never cared too much for Gundam 0083, or Mobile Suit Gundam, and usually fell asleep during them, but after seeing G Gundam one day on Toonami, I realized that there was so much more to Gundam series than big robots beating the crap out of each other and people talking in military terms for 22 minutes, so I gave 0080 a chance when it came and it was great. I only got to see Pilot Candidate once, but it was entertaining. The night after Yu Yu Hakusho started its second run, I started taping AS, and that's the end of a long, boring story no one cares about.

Well, it began with Anime really. Its a funny story. When i was a kid, i would babysit until lord knows how late/early, so i would flip through channels, and lo and behold, at around 2am i found these "really cool" cartoons that had tons of action, and better action than regular TV! That show turned out to be Macross. I dont remember many of the other titles, but most of it was futuristic gunslinging robot dragouts. Great stuff. I was told this was Anime... this was waaaay back in oh, 1993. Then came the Anime Block (hour?), and It got me hooked, DBZ, gunam Transformers, you name it i watched it. It extended into Adult Swim. Happy PrimeTitan.

I've been watching since day one. I was extatic to hear that Cowboy bebop was gonna air, and then virtually uncut as well! This was something I had to see to beleive. virtually un-cut anime and a show Ihad been dying to see anyway. I watched the whole premeire night and loved it all. (was homemovies showing since the beginning, i don't remeber, if it was I HATED it when it started)

I read a PR on ANN and it mentioned Cowboy Bebop, and at the time I knew nothing about Bebop, but I was willing to give it a try. And I was hooked from the very first night.

I had enjoyed watching Space Ghost long before Adult Swim, but I hadn't seen it for a while before Adult Swim aired. Then, the summer before it started, I saw an ad in a magazine (I forget what mag, EGM maybe) for this thing called Adult Swim, and it Space Ghost, and a Brak show, and I thought awesome. However, I didn't watch it until Columbus Day weekend of that year, but as soon as I saw Sealab and Aqua Teens I was hooked, and have been watching ever since.

I had heard good things about Mobile Suit Gundam, so, being the eager little anime newb, I began to watch it every Saturday, sometime in October 2002.

While I had a school life, I waited for a holiday to catch the current AS lineup. And sometime mid-January 2003 I fell in love with that day's lineup: Futurama, (When Aliens Attack) Home Movies, (Life Through A Fish Eye Lens) and Lupin. (ZenigataCon)

Now, I am an avid Adult Swim watcher and lover of the current lineup, which only gets better and better.

My friends had found it on in September of 2001 and starting watching it, and, about a week later, they had me watching it. Fell in love with it (for the most part) immediately. Actually, AS is the main reason why I began watching so much anime, with it having Cowboy Bebop on from the start. I mean, I had seen anime before, but I never became such a fan until about a year ago.

I've been an Adult Swim watcher since day 1. I found out about the block a few months before the block debutted via an article from the TV Guide. While there were already some shows that interested me through that article (specifically, the Brak Show and new episodes of SG:CtC), the main thing that got me interested in the block was Cowboy Bebop, as I was becoming more and more interested in anime during that time (not to mention I bought two of the Cowboy Bebop DVD's before Adult Swim started). Thus, one of the main reasons for checking Adult Swim was to see how CN would handle Cowboy Bebop. Of course, I also became fans of the other shows as well.

I got news of it from the Toonami forum ahead of time. When it first came on, I watched, and I've been hooked ever since.

I started watching when Bebop premiered, and they aired two episodes a night on Sundays, from there I got into all the other shows that make up the block. Now I can’t to bed a decent hour since I keep crawling back for more goodness.

I had known about AS for awhile beforehand, but my moronic cable company didn't give us Cartoon Network until about two weeks before Inuyasha started coming on, whenever that was. Been watching ever since.

I knew about AS probably about 3 or 4 months before it started. I saw it in an issue of Animerica. They were talking about how Cowboy Bebop was going to be on Cartoon Networks new adult block called Adult Swim and right away I was interested in Adult Swim because Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime. I also saw ATHF a month before AS actually started. I was up late one night and around 5 AM they showed the pilot without anyone knowing ahead of time. Ever since that night I have been obsseed with ATHF and Adult Swim.

i first saw it the night it premired. My mom had fallen asleep in her room and she left the TV on, and she was watching Cartoon Network. I saw Brak was on and found it interesting so I watched some. I noticed the TV-PG logo at the top and soon found out I was watching Adult Swim. I became hooked.

Sometime back in July 2002 (almost sounds like the same date as sl4), I was in a random internet chat room. They were talking about some show with talking fast food products on Cartoon Network. I turned on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, stuck around for Sealab 2021, and recognized an old favorite from childhood, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. I was instantly hooked. The next week I tuned in again for the 15-minute shows, now discovering Harvey Birdman: Attourney At Law. Despite my obsession nowadays, I actually didn't watch Home Movies until about 3 months later, in October 2002. Once I discovered Home Movies, and....taped....all the episodes, I was an Adult Swim addict.

However I never got into ASA much...I watched Cowboy Bebop on it's latest run a few weeks ago, and loved it. I watched half of Trigun and hated it (I hear the second half is better, so I'm watching that), I watch Lupin, it's okay (and nothing else is on), Big O is good, didn't like the Inuyasha I saw, didn't like the Reign I saw, didn't like the Kikaider I saw...more of an ASC guy, obviously.

Back when AS first started I was browsing a message board, when there was a thread about Dr. Katz, one of my favorite shows back in the day. One post mentioned a show called Home Movies, it said many of the people who were involved with "Katz" were now involved with HM. It also happened to post a link to adultswim.com which I clicked. After watching clips of HM and a few of the other shows, I knew I had to find out when this was on. Unfortunately it was on cartoon network, which my cable company, who shall remain nameless (Cablevision) didn't carry. Well I was very dissapointed. I had been able to see AS while in hotels or at other people's houses, but not in my own. But all of sudden in December of '03 I came home and Cartoon Network was there, Cablevision had added it. The first thing I said to myself was I can watch Adult Swim now. The rest is history...isn't it beautiful

On another note....200 posts yay!

I was already a Toonami fan and this sounded like a good place to watch unedited anime on the cheap. Little did I suspect it would be funny as well as cool. Been watching since the first day!

I didn't really start watching it regularly until Futurama and Family Guy showed up. Other than that, I watched CN at that hour back when Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast was the only show in town.

I was channel surfing on a saturday night. I don't even watch much television, and I was a bit turned off by anime like Speed Racer, Pokemon, etc.

As I was flipping the channels, I caught the fight between Spike Spiegel and Asimov. I have yet to fall in love at first sight, but I know what to look for after watching Bebop for the first time. ;) I've been held captive by Adult Swim's action block since.

I've been a rather large Cartoon Network fan in general for years, so I've been watching Adult Swim since the first day. I've liked the Space Ghost humor in the past and was already a fan of anime. So when I saw the them combined with new shows from both genres (Cowboy Bebop was new to me, anyway), I instantly made it part of my Sunday night routine. Then it became part of my Saturday night routine (taping, anyway). And now it's part of my Sunday-Thursday routine!

I was house-sitting for a friend back in June 2002 and was bored and flipping channels late that night. I came across Harvey Birdman and instantly fell in love with Adult Swim. I stayed for Sealab, then for Mission Hill.

I didn't really watch the Saturday Night Action until Inuyasha came on -- which, again, I caught by just flipping channels randomly one night. I liked it and then followed it until it went to weeknights. I began to check out Lupin III and enjoyed it (if people can overcome the "outdated" look, it's a great show). Then I saw Trigun and became hooked to AS Action. I don't like Reign or Kikaider. Now that Big O has come along, I never go to bed until 12:30am --- great show!

September 1st, 2001. I had just ventured into high school. It was Labor Day the next day, so I got the day off. I decided to stay up, playing my favorite game of that time, RollerCoaster Tycoon (hey, it was addictive as hell). During, I was catching the end of CN's usual 9-9:30 lineup (the classic cartoon shows like Toon Heads [really miss that one]). On the credits for Toon Zone, I heard "You need more mature cartoons, huh? Then watch Adult Swim. Next" (something like that). So, I said, "What the hell?" And I kept watching. Soon enough, I was watching something I knew "Oh, I gotta catch this next time!". Brak Show, Home Movies, they were all great...I miss the old, first lineup. It was so simple. It only got more complicated once Baby Blues messed things up...

I guess back in January 2002, I was looking through the TV guide one day, and I noticed all these anime titles on really late on Saturday night. As I was an anime fan, and I wanted to watch something more teen/adult- oriented, I thought about staying up late to check the shows out one night.

About a month later, in February 2002, I finally did. I realized the shows were part of a block called Adult Swim, and I was hooked from YYH all the way to the end... at 2 AM. I watched it every Saturday from then, even during a three-month period when the cable in my room went screwy and I had to watch it under the animation-dispproving eyes of my parents in the living room.
When it hit weeknights, I followed, and finally got around to seeing the comedy portion of the block. Now I'm a pretty steady follower of both the action and the comedy.

I've been watching since the very first night, although after a few weeks I stopped watching Space Ghost, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Brak, etc... everything but Cowboy Bebop cause I didn't particularly care for them. That was all I watched on the block til the action block was created, although I have grown to love Home Movies over the past year :D

I was trying to watch Toonami at it's Midnight Run. Then I found out there isn't any Midnight Run. But before I threw the chair at the TV, I found Adult Swim and Cowboy Bebop. That kept my sanity. And it turned out to be even better than Midnight Run.

I've been watching ASA ever since, catching each episode, while ignoring the rest of ASC (besides Space Ghost). It wasn't until I accidently tuned into Harvey Birdman that made me start to recognize ASC completely. Now, I sometimes tune into Family Guy and Home Movies every now and then, but I'm more of an anime guy.

During the summer of 2001, I learned that Cartoon Network was going to start a block by the name of "Adult Swim." When I learned Cowboy Bebop was going to air with a TV-14 rating and very little edits, I was ecstatic.

So, naturally - I settled in on September 2, 2001 to watch the premiere. The second I saw the opening with the pools and the old people, I knew I was going to love it. By the end of the night, I knew I had been right. I've been watching AS ever since.

Started watching from night one. I'd heard various stuff about CN starting an adult-block, but I didn't really take too much stock in it until I watched the Midnight Run Video Special (don't you miss those?) a couple of days before it aired when I saw the commercial. I said "BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!11!1!one", and I've been watching ever since.

Hm. Well, I guess I'll sound like alot of you out there, but I was flipping channels and I saw an ad for Yu Yu Hakusho coming up next. It was the first episode of Yu Yu Hakusho. After that, that got me hooked on anime once again. Next was Bebop, then Inu-Yasha, then Oblongs, then Futurama, then Family Guy, then Sealab, then ATHF, then every show that's been on AS (excluding Reign :p ) since. I'm starting to forget television without AS, lol.

Heard about it from CNX, saw the first week with my little sister and cousin, saw the second week with just sis, stopped watching after that because the teacher strike ended, caught the first week of "Action" by chance, began watching it every week, resumed Comedy in the summer, and hardly missed a day since.

I think I read an article about it going to CN in TV Guide and waited anxiously for the premire of it. Anyway, lets just say I look at tv listings a lot. lol I remember the big "TV PG" and "TV 14" tv rating boxes in the corner at all time the first night it came on during the shows. I remember watching Yu Yu Hakusho for the first time and instantly liked it! I also remember watching Cowboy Bebop. I recorded it b/c I knew a Pembroke Welsh Corgi would be in it. I have a dog like Ein! It's a good show but I'm not the biggest Cowboy Bebop fan out there. I recorded the episodes. Actually I think all of it from YYH to whatever was on last. I think it was Tenchi Muyo dubbed which I also like. I'll have to find the tape. lmao I also remember the pool adult swim bumpers( I hope that's what they are called). :D

Consistently? When Adult Swim Action started. I'd heard good things about Cowboy Bebop, but I always missed or had other things to do when it aired on the previous Adult Swim setup.

Then I heard about ASA and figured, "Hey, conveinent time, other anime to check out, and Saturday's pretty boring anyway..." and so I started watching then.

I'm still a stickler for the anime, though FG, Futurama, and Harvey Birdman are slowly drawing me into the comedy section.

I was watching Outlaw Star on Midnight Run and kept turning on the TV at the same time every night. Well one thursday rolls along and I see Cowboy Bebop instead of my beloved Outlaw Star! The first couple times that happens I just turn off the TV and go to sleep, but then one day I kept watching because the style just seemed fun (I think I was watching Stray Dog Strut) and after that I kept tuning in every thursday. After Adult Swim moved to Saturday I started watching all the anime they had there. I started watching Sunday about a month after that but still don't watch the comedy shows as much as I watch the anime shows.

In November 2002, I was wondering what had happened to that old show that I had forgotten about, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, the one I had loved back in the old 'CN Original' days of it. I was already familar with Toon Zone so I checked out the Adult Swim boards, so I checked out the schedule here, and saw that it was on somewhere in the middle.

Rather than forget, I turned it on early and caught Home Movies. I learned to love the show just based on its constant hilarity. The first episodes I saw were the complete run of Season Two, in which I adopted "Pizza Club" as my favorite. Later, I saw Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law (I think it was "Bannon Custody Case"). I remembered him from Space Ghost and I learned to love the show over the course of episodes. I caught Sealab 2021 occasionally and found it okay, finally saw Aqua Teen Hunger Force weeks later and thought it was hilarious (under the recommendation of a friend), and caught Mission Hill when I was really up late and thought it was pretty good. I saw SGC2C double up and found it to be just as good as it was when I left it.

A few weeks after my first ASC, I noticed that Adult Swim was on Saturdays, but rather than comedy, these shows were more serious and had a PC narrating it. I flipped through it a couple of times and never really found anything interesting enough to actually watch. Only when Adult Swim integrated did I force myself to try out some ASA shows. Lupin the III was first on the docket and I found it only okay. Reign: The Conqueror was horrible, and so was Kikaider, but when I caught Trigun on its 2nd run, I realized that I could love an anime. I loved Trigun from episode one. Recently, I tried out Big O and found it to be nearly as good.

I, like a lot of others, started watching on the first night. I loved the comedy, and was kind of surprised about how fast I got used to hearing 'damn' on Cartoon Network. Tomorrow was labor day, so I decided to stay up late for Bebob. I was planning to tape it, since I had heard alot about it from the old Toonami: Revolution board and CNX itself. I loved it. I taped it, then watched it on saturdays. I usually end up taping the ASA shows, while catching ASC here and there during the school year.

There's gonna be alot of taping this year.

I was been watching since night one, I remeber seeing a commerical for the ADULT SWIM on toonami and thinking how cool Cowboy Bebop looked this made me curious enough to tune in. I came in for about the last 5 min of Home Movies wasn't to impressed, this was before I actually watched a full episode and relized how funnyit was. But it was Aqua Teen Hunger Force that hooked me, it was the episode about the rainbow machine and I remember laughing so hard I fell on the ground crying.

I read the PR on a few anime sites and tuned in on the first night of the block. It was interesting because CN was airing shows that were actually for adults. I basically tuned in because Cowboy Bebop was airing and it wasn't Toonami-sized. I only owned the first DVD and wanted to see how the rest of the series was before buying the rest. Since then, it's been a good way for me to test anime series unbutchered before buying the DVDs.
The block was also a way for me to see more adult American animation.
