View Full Version : Why is AS showing these Futurama/Family Guy episodes again so soon?

Apparently I missed the excellent reason why Williams Street is repeating a month's worth of Family Guy episodes immediately after they were shown. If I'm Dyin', I'm Lyin' aired on June 30th, but instead of airing the later second season and third season episodes they're re-showing the same month's worth of episodes again (If I'm Dyin', I'm Lyin' is airing on July 23rd). After looking through the schedule thread I realised that it was probably because they're going to air When You Wish Upon a Weinstein on August 6th, but why back it up an entire month? They could air Weinsten at any time, and because it wasn't included in the first run it'll be considered "out of place" no matter when they air it. I noticed that they're doing the same thing with Futurama.

What did I miss? I'd really like to know why they're repeating so soon.

It's probably to keep syncing up with TBS, as annoying as that is.

Why does it need to snychronize with TBS? Wouldn't getting 2 unique episodes a day be preferable to a repeat? It's not like Williams Street to rerun a month's worth of episodes for two shows without announcing it ahead of time or giving a reason. I thought I was going insane when I saw "Hell is other Robots" twice in the same three weeks.

has everyone noticed that they keep showing the same set of episodes (From Season 1 I think) OVer and over lately on adult swim?

Merged the "Why the Futurama reruns?" thread with the "Why the Family Guy reruns?" thread.

I think they're trying to to synch with TBS so that there will be a balance in ratings...just my guess...besides, how's it gonna last with 4 vs. 5 days a week?...

I thought I saw some of the Futurama and Family Guys episodes close together. I was going to make a post about it, but I thought I was being a little crazy and decided to let it slide.

So it wouldn't match with TBS? Er, I haven't seen the TBS block this week, but last week each day it was the same Futurama and FG that was on AS the night before. Might have changed it though.

You're obviously new, so I won't be too cruel. When you post in a thread, make sure your post is relevant to that thread and can help lead to a good discussion. Shouting "Aqua Teen" does neither, especially in a Futurama/Family Guy thread.

No, the point is so that it WOULD match with TBS. ;)

since TBS airs episodes 5 days a week does that mean that every fifth episode on Cartoon Network will be skipped, since they don't air an episode on Friday?

That's what I'm wondering....I sure hope not.
