It was ASA-styled. With clips from the movie. I don't remember it word-for-word, but it'll air again.

It said there would be an exclusive preview of the new Tomb Raider movie would be on AS this Thursday at midnight.

Fun.

Hmmm, looks like AS has made a good deal with Paramount. This means a whole new card. Don't worry. Super Transcriber DianaGohan is on the case... card... whatever.

I never thought I'd hear that Toonami Lockdown song ever again.

I don't quite understand how Tomb Raider is at all relevent to any part of Adult Swim.

Why?

OH! And what pisses me off the most, it's airing during The Big O? Is this what they meant by "uncut for the most part"? They'd better not be making lame time cuts just to fit in a ****** preview for some movie that noone that watches AS cares about.

I AM NOT ABOVE THE WORD CENSOR!

Holy ****!

I don't know what to say about this...except that if they **** up "Enemy is Another Big" this Thursday with time cuts, then I'm going to be just as pissed as Matt Wilson, if not more so!

Whoever made that thread about live-action shows on Cartoon Network if CN ever went crazy...I hope you're happy!

Haha, its most likely going to be the intersittal before Big O, instead of airing that really long Aqua Teens mix

At least people want to advertise during the Big O. Seems we are going to have to buy the 45 dollar boxset. What a shame. That's so much money for an anime.

...*blinks* You're KIDDING me, right? That was sarcasm, wasn't it? O_o;

Fact 1: I don't really care about Tomb Raider, I think it's an empty-headed and vapid franchise.
Fact 2: I like The Big O, it has a strong noir atmosphere, subtley effective characterization, and an interesting underlying mystery.
Fact 3: If "Enemy is Another Big" is cut to fit this promotion, I will be rather irate and will likely add my voice to the loud (metaphorically speaking) cries of outrage on this board, perhaps with uncharacteristic histrionics.
Fact 4: The only good thing that I can see in any of this is that it shows some confidence in The Big O on the part of advertizers (provided that Paramount is responsible for the timing).

And for the record, in case Jimmy wasn't being sarcastic (if it is sarcasm, it strikes me as inexplicable), given an average MSRP of $29.99 for anime DVDs (niche market with a lot of costs other markets don't have), $44.98 is an excellent deal for a 4-disc series. Even if you buy below MSRP (which is what any sensible fan would do) with a little bargain hunting, it's an impressive savings if buy the box.

I was being sarcastic. I thought since it was such a good anime deal that it would be easy to tell. Only anime tv shows that are cheaper are Boogiepop Phantom and Nadesico.

Well,if you are a true fan of Big O you would spend any amount of money on anything pretaining to Big O.....

Fixed.

I love Big O, but I'm not going to pay a million bucks for a Big Duo action figure.

You're my personal Buddha...except more violent.

It pisses me off when the bourgeois CN executives force Williams Street to make mediocre promos from asinine products completely unrelated to Adult Swim. Why the **** do I need Brak telling me to drink Acid Trip Snowman™ brand iced tea or for Frylock telling me to dial "1-800-443-453-678-323-543-ATT-COLLECT-PHONE-CALLS-ARE-GOD"? Just let me watch my ******* cartoons in peace.

But to get back on-topic, I'm guessing the Tomb Raider promo is to appeal to stoned college kids who forget to change the channel after Family Guy and who will see Tomb Raider because Angelina Jolie is hot. (Suprisingly, this is a rather large group, so it makes sense to me)

Yeah, those commercials are pretty funny, but it doesn't take away from the fact that they feel contrived and consumer whore-ish. (I think I just made up a word)

And stoned college kids usually enjoy the anime. It blows their mind.
