now I don't know id there are time limits or certian rules to what can be nominated, but could home movies, athf, Sg or anything lke that ever even be nominated? Im sure enough people in the industry can at least recognize the popularity here. On the other hand Im sure the television industry is just as corrupt as the RIAA, MPAA, and the U.S government but just a thought so post away!!!!...........or not, your choice

It's popular sure, but it's still not Mainstream enough to consider getting a nomination just yet. However, I could see in a few years AS getting some kind of award for an Emmy, but not know anyway.

I could definitely see Home Movies getting an Emmy.

when and if Family Guy goes back into production, I'd say it'd stand a good chance.

Futurama and Family Guy already won emmys when they were on FOX. Even though they won, FOX still shunned the shows.

I doubt it. In order for a show to win an Emmy (and this tells you just how damn lazy those in power are at said awards show), it must puncture the mainstream conciousness. That's the only way South Park managed to pull off Emmy nominations- all the buzz it generated. That's not to say SP didn't deserve the nominations, it did, but I think it's unlikely that an AS show would be nominated. CN would have to put some major muscle behind a show for it to really stand a chance. The block's position in late-night, as opposed to primetime, does irrepairable damage to any nomination potential. I think everyone on the Emmy committee goes to sleep at 11:00 Eastern...
Home Movies, though certainly good enough, would more than likely never garner a nomination- it's a quiet show, with a loyal fanbase, that doens't tend to flaunt itself or attract wide attention. It also takes multiple views before you really start to get into it. I'm sure the Big O 2 will be good enough as well, but hey, it's an anime. Not a chance.

The only way the Emmys would recognize AS is if they had a tired cartoon about a radio psychiatrist complete with cutesy dog and Space Needle. And it would have to be voiced by Kelsey Grammer. Gary the Rat is closer already...
I'm not sure any of the WS shows are even eligible as animated series. You can't a compare the current "season" of Harvey Birdman (three 15 minutes episodes) with a full run of the Simpsons or another more mainstream toon. I think they could be entered as "specials" rather than series, but I doubt they would stack up to the competition there.

Though I'd like to see some kind of award given to them for "Best Programming Package Design" or somesuch, because while all the shows on Adult Swim are great, the packaging is the absolutely excellent icing on the cake.
