After Inuyasha Movie 1 comes to the U.S.

To answer your next question: Whenever Viz gets around to it.

Well, in Japan, yes, but not in America.

The second movie was made available for rental (in Japan) back in June, and will be released on DVD (in Japan) on August 21st.

They should have Movie One Out on AS, and then two. That could be happening sometime though, espically when AS "expands" into the later hours of the night sometime late this year/early next year (it would really have a chance of happening if AS "expanded" into Friday and Saturday, but those are just rumors. Espically Saturday).

The second movie isn't even on Japanese DVD yet, so it'll be a while before Viz will get the rights to it, not to mention they haven't released the first here in the US either. And the third hasn't even been made...

So you want to move to Japan because it's better than the US? Well, I guess I'd better give you some pointers.

First, here's a brief guide about seriously moving to Japan: How to move to a country with squatting toilets (http://www.globalcompassion.com/moving.htm)

Next, here's a little idea of what it'll be like to learn the language: How to learn a lanuage where ecchi can be used in a pun (http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~thoureau/japanese.html)

Finally, here's some stuff you might wanna know about the country that's "better" than the US: What the otaku never told you (http://animenation.net/news/askjohn.php?id=542)

And there you are. Have fun!

LoL! Then start soon :p Its very, very hard (although very enjoyable if you like the language as much as I do) and will take you YEARS to learn. I've been studying Japanese for 3 and a half years now and certainly aren't at the level yet where I could go to Japan and intermingle with little trouble. There's a good article out there somewhere on the web about why you shouldn't go try to learn Japanese just cause you think anime's cool, I'll try to find a link for it.

...as for Japan is a better country than the US, well I hope you realize that Japan's success compared to us in anime and video games does not translate to everything... Take the economy for example. If you think you can just go to Japan and suddenly get a good job, you've got quite a shock coming at you.

Just because of some show? You really need to get out more honey cause their is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more to life than some anime. Besides Japan is not better than america, but this comment can only come from an over zelous anime fan and I forgive you for your mass ignorance.

Did I just post a link to it (the second one) or is the one you're thinking of more serious?

Great mix of the informative, the funny and disturbing in those articles (those if you want more on the disturbing/informative note, check out the manga series Confidential Confessions by Reiko Momochi, because it's about as real world as something in the anime style gets.)

You know you've watched too much anime when......

You've been brainwashed with subliminal messages of anti-Americanism (is that a word) and you want to learn an insanely difficult language.

No offense, but he/she is probably just a kid.

Quite alot of kids, including some of you I'd bet, think they'd like to move to Japan someday. And why not? When you're 5-15, your life is heavily influenced by Nintendo, cartoons, and, for some of us, transforming robots...all of which get more exposure over there. It's a widely-known fact that probably won't change anytime soon.

Then you start to experience the America beyond your front door. I live in rural Pennsylvania, and I couldn't imagine leaving for another state, let alone another country, especially one with so many different cultural intricacies. What keeps many of those who get past that from moving are the enourmous costs involved. I'd sooner move to Germany or England, but still only if I had a compelling reason.

I think the Internet has been both a help and a hinderance to the situation. On the one hand, we're exposed to more of the stuff we cite as a reason for going to Japan but, on the other hand, its generally far easier to import than it used to be. Which of those outweighs the other, if at all, is dependant on the individual and their POV.

If you still want to go to Japan when you're 25, then more power to you. Just consider that it might not work out like you think it will, becuase the grass only _looks_ greener on the other side.

hey I didn't say that USA sucked. I said USA is getting left out on all the great stuff that Japan has. I know that I might eventually soonchange my mind about moving to Japan. I am 13 so i will shange my mind as i get older. I think i should be more proud that I get to live here.

All the great stuff? Beside anime and video games (and even here America is catching up with Japan.) what other great stuff is there? Good Japanese live action movies are few and far between. I'm not going to touch which has better music, but America has more varied music.

I love Anime, but there is still some films that I don't think Anime will ever come close to touching (Godfather Part I and II, Schiendler's List being some of the bigger examples).

The fact is if you think the American economy is bad now, you will be in for a shock when you reach Japan. Plus many cultural things will throw you for a loop.

Grave of the Fireflies...

Also an interesting film because it breaks some of the stereotypes of animation. It could never have been done live action, not because of normal reasons (giant robots, talking animals or other expensive special effects), but because children just aren't good enough actors to pull it off.

Yal already mentioned Grave, so I'll mention Perfect Blue. It manages to out do Hitchcock in term of suspense, psychodrama and intensity. It's animated only because certain sequences were to expensive to do at the time. It's a dark, emotionally intense work.

If you're looking more at live action art films (IE: pi, 2001), anime also has equilivelents as well. My personal favorite of that style is Angel's Egg. It's almost beyond description, but it's a deep, metaphor-laden film.

Anime can be very, very intelligent and moving. Most of the time though, people will take the fan service and giant robots.
