:D Hi everyone. You probably don't remember me, but I posted here over a year ago  . I'm sorry I haven't been around for so long, but I'm happy I wasn't deleted or anything. BTW, I am a boy , but Ed is the best character in all of Bebop and I just had an erge to dedicate my account name to her, just so you know.

BTW, I also have a question about the last episode of Trigun (Best ASA show, EVER!). Knowing Vash, why did he pretend to be unconcious so as to avoid sleeping with those two women that came down to his room to do just that? Or at least, I think he was faking it. Oh well, as long as my question gets answered. Sure he has a robotic arm and a bunch of scars, but, I guess it just went right over my head.

Eh...few things. "I'm going"/"I'm back" posts are discouraged, especially on this board...only reason I let this one survive is because you're asking a question (hence I changed the title). Also, when asking a question about something like the last episode of the series, put it in a spoiler tag or put spoilers in the topic title. Some people haven't seen the last episode, and wouldn't want any part of it ruined (even if it seems like a small plot point). Anyways, welcome back.

Edit: Oh, you mean the last episode shown on CN? Oops, my bad. :o
In that case, keep any questions like this in the "C&C - Anything Else" thread.

Well, it's not really a spoiler as he was refering to the last episode AS showed, not the last episode of the series.

As for an answer, his physical appearance may have had something to do with it, like he told the insurance girls "It's not something I like girls to see," I believe it was also because he was well aware they were prostitutes and he's just not that kind of guy. I may be wrong though.

Ahhh, ok. That makes sence. Sorry, but I get confused with frigged up moments like that and I often miss things. But yeah, that makes sence. Oh, and sorry, about the I'm Back thing, I must have missed that while reading the rules. I apologise.

I always thought it had something to do with Rem.(sp?) Earlier episode with the water thing, Vash was all "Oh,I'm so glad! I knew you were the girl I thought you were!"....so I take it,a girl like Rem. .....and...yeah...the prositutes are kind of far off from being like her,I guess...

erm...

Naw, he simply isn't that kind of guy. I always get the feeling that he likes to look, but not touch, so to speak. I also think that a healthy respect of people, especially women, would be a natural outgrowth of Rem's teachings.
And if I may be just a bit tactless for a second, I think it's entirely possible that Vash is the world's oldest virgin.

OK, that all makes sence. I'm not saying I would have, I was just thinking of the goofier more carefree Vash and I guess I just got befudled and confused.

There's another possibility you're all ignoring... :anime:

A little bit.
But it is plausible that Vash isn't interested in women, generally.

Come on... if he really wasnt interested in women, then why would he try to peak in on Marianne in the shower in the second episode?

All just part of the harmless goofball act... ;) :D

Well yeah, but I'm sure the man isn't gay. I mean, he obviously loved Rem in more ways then one. Not to mention he thought to himself, "Could I be regreting it? Just a little?".

Of course Vash isn't gay, what with the way he acts around some women. He's probably just to shy to committ or something. You know, for fear of getting his feelings hurt. I don't know.

I think somebody's been reading too much fan fiction. :p
Quite frankly though, I don't see a shred of evidence in the show that would support the theory that he's gay. And because I'm rather biased toward a VashxMeryl pairing myself. *fangirl squeal* :D

Rem= mother figure.

I've never read a line of FF.
But I understand the issue of his sexual proclivities, if he actually has any, is more ambiguous in the manga. ;)

the series has 26 episodes i think
and AS has aired all of em
unlike some american series's that go on forever and ever
anime's actualy know when to end it and move on
maybe to a sequel or something not add more and more characters

the ending of this series was kinda confusing but it made some sense...
er well as in it left some questions left to be asked

some questions left at the end are even answered if you
watch the series all over again
and certain times such as.....
if you haven't seen it once don't read the spoilers
hence the name spoiler

vash doesn't use his gun and later mentions it's not very accurate
-he won't use an inacurate gun because he doesn't want to kill so he must be accurate
-also the gun is in that condition because later you find out he's over 100 years old as is the gun
this would explain why the gun is so worn out

when vash says "Rem" and decides not to kill somone in the bar

or some minor things

a minor thing but when vash is dancing and singin along to some song
that he's listening to on his head phones people think he's stupid
but it's all part of the whole "lost technology" thing
...in otherwords... they have no idea what headphones are or that he has em (they're small ok you can hardly see em)

in the sand steamer he gives the kid a realy small communicator more "lost technology"

or how he knows how to operate all that "lost stuff" anyway

watch it again... maybe a 3rd time if you want
you'll keep noticing things
my brother noticed that millie and vash say hello kinda funny in a similar way each time
sort of a "he'lo--" way just look for it

Ah, yes. The manga. I am quite looking forward to its release in November to start filling in some things that the anime doesn't have time to discuss. Now, keep in mind that I've only seen through episode 21, but since we're on the subject of sex, here's something that's bothered me for awhile.
Vash isn't human. True, there's every indication that he has regular human anatomy, notwithstanding the false left arm and the Angel Arm, but still he's not a male of the species. He's an entirely different species, ie. a Plant. What's that got to do with his sexual activities? Well, cross-species breeding for one. The sheer biomechanics of Vash having a sexual relationship with a human makes my brain hurt. I'm not quite sure how it would work on a purely biological level, the nitty-gritty of physical anatomy aside. Could he father offspring? Maybe. Maybe not. Is it important outside the realm of fan fiction? Meh.
Based on these considerations, this may be another reason why he didn't just jump at the chance to be with those prostitutes. He's probably not sure what exactly would or could happen. My own pet theory is that it could go one of two ways. First, because of Vash's biological heritage as a Plant (exponential lifespan, stamina, intelligence, healing factor, physical rejuvenation) he might actually augment his partner as a human. Scientific research tell us that sex is emotionally and physically rejuvenating; intimacy with a partner that is above human might endow that person with some of Vash's own physical gifts. It may even lengthen the partner's life.
The second possibility is the not-so-good opposite. The physical stress of such an intimate encounter might be too much for a frail human body. Vash may literally suck the life force out of a sexual partner. It might even kill her. (or him, if you prefer)
Have I taken way too many Human Biology classes? Oh, probably. Am I thinking about this way too much? Definitely. Just been wanting to get that off my chest for awhile.

Hmm...never thought of it that way. lol. I didn't think this would get so discussed and talked about when I posted it. I mean it's ok if it is, I'm just saying.

Well, I wasn't able to see Trigun on its first run and therefore didn't get to hash out ideas and theories in the Talkback threads. I've sort of been grabbing every opportunity I can. I almost wish we could do Second Impression threads or something like that.
