Now we all know this is an age-old, tired-out prospect that will never happen, but we all know that they should have invader zim. But, we know that Mary Harrington (who, of course, works for nick) was the one who got Jhonen to work on zim in the first place. So, we all know that zim would have worked out better on CN, but we know it won't happen that way.

Now that that's out of the way, I'll make my list.

The classics
The "What a cartoon" show
The old toonami, with mostly action, and less of this tired-out crap they call anime
A better 9-10 block, put Flintstones/jetsons in place of pokemon/jackie chan, leave 10-11 as it is. Pokemon was a bad acquisition as it is, it only seems to be a thing with the really little kids. If anything, replace pokemon with Yu-gi-oh. That seems to be the bigger craze anyways. Or just air pokemon at 9AM, make 7-9 on weekdays some sort of children's block?
Cartoon Theater with good movies (as in stop showing land before time (what number are they at now?) and American Tale (whatever))
Put something in their scooby universe block. Really, how long does it take them to run the series? A month? A week? Three days? I say replace it with some sort of block (maybe a toonami action block, maybe classics, boomerang?)

Do something to bring back the classics! For everyone's sake!

Cartoons they should bring back
Beetlejuice

Hell, yeah!! :D

Tiny Toon Adventures

Being misused on Nick

Silver Hawks
Laff-A-Lympics
Yogi's Treasure Hunt
Taz-Mania
Thundarr The Barbarian
Voltron
Garfield & Friends
Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron

Agree on all of those. I'd program Thundarr, Goldie Gold, and SWAT Kats to air in place of the overplayed Scooby reruns on Saturdays.

Dudley Do-Right & Friends

This needs to be repackaged first, since it was badly marketed for syndication.

Cartoons they should add
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the original)
C.O.P.S.
M.A.S.K.
Inspector Gadget
Heathcliff And The Catillac Cats
The Real Ghostbusters
Mummies Alive!
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show
Trans Formers
Mighty Max
He-Man (the original)
She-Ra
Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures

Can I get an AMEN? :D SMBSH is mostly live-action, a la Banana Splits, so CN might pass.

One thing you guys need to understand.

When CN airs cartoons, they have to buy the rights. This is expensive. However, they own Cartoon Cartoons outright, which is the main reason they show them so much. It doesn't cost them anything. They are bought and paid for.

When they drop a classic, 9 times out of 10, it's about money. I made this point in another thread about Popeye.

Cartoon Network is part of AOLTW...along with Warner Borthers, Hanna Barbera, and God knows what else. I've read that they have the single biggest library of animation in the entire world. Alot of the stuff, outside of the TransFormers, HeMan, and anime, fits into that category...which means it would cost CN $0.00 to out them in the schedule.

Well, first off, what they should DELETE
ALL the cartoon cartoons (create a separate channell for them)
ALL the cute cartoons (PPG, Baby Looney, and Hamtaro)
Sylvwester and Tweety

Here is what they SHOULD keep
Flinstones, but move to accesible daytime when even us adults prefer to be awake
Popeye, T&J, LT&MM
Scooby--but don';t overplay it!

What should be ADDED
Alvin and the chipmunks-the BABY BOOMER, NOT the 1980s-=90s one././
Linus the Lionhearted
Sinbad Jr.,esp.with the Dreamworks flick in theatres.
Gumby with the ORIGINAL tracks, not the redone 1980s ones!
The 1960s pre-Kricfalusi Beany and Cecil
Trollkins
Kqicky Koala
Banana Splits--maybe they should become Booerang and the existing same-named station should be eliminated. then the Cartoon Cartoon stuff and the modern stuff could have their station.. and boomernag could move over onto the exist CN-yeah confusing..but you should get me point.

Oh,..happy 70th boithday Popeye

DePatie-Freleng cartoons (just the theatrical ones, because the TV ones are kinda low-budget, and their theatrical ones have are made with bigger budget, and better storyline)

Maybe some Terrytoons

Walter Lantz

and I remember seeing "Garfield and Friends" on CN years ago, but I think they took it off air when Nickelodeon picked it up.

BTW, anyone remember when Nickelodeon used to air Ruby-Spears' Chipmunks? I think they took it off air and few months later, CN picked it up.

Yeah! especially the old Pink Panther short movies,

Doesn't Viacom own the Terrytoons library?, I would like to see CN buy out the library before they begin to slaughter those Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle toons on Nick or TNN.

And, will somebody at CN work with Universal to get the Walter Lantz cartoon library to Cartoon Network?

Viacom owns an insanely large library of theatrical cartoons that they completely ignore. They own all of the Terrytoons, all of the non-Popeye Fliescher cartoons (Betty Boop, Screen Songs, etc), and all of the pre 1950 and post 1962 Paramount/Famous cartoons.

They've liscensed the cartoons out to various video companies and channels who don't do anything with them. AMC briefly played Betty Boop a few years ago, though.

And, will somebody at CN work with Universal to get the Walter Lantz cartoon library to Cartoon Network?
Yeah, I wish CN would get the Lantz Cartunes. Canada plays/played them, so they must be available to the TV market.

What they should do is make like a seperate network like "anime network" b/c in my opinion anime and cartoons are different. move all the old shows they showed back on the air and add all the old shows that used to play on WB and Fox on saturday morning etc. And also get rid of all the new cutesy crap and stop overusing cartoon cartoon
and make new episodes of space ghost cartoon planet (one of the greatest shows ever) and Freakazoid
