This is supposed to be "sensational", but having seen the ad many times, I'm still kind of annoyed at the fact that the animation and coloring are still... CRAP.
Enjoy tonight's premiere. There will also be a talkback in the DC forum.

Well, I can't wait for this. It should be great. As long as the story is good I don't see why the animation would detract from it. It is a shame that it hasn't impoved since season 1 though.
I'm curious about something. Will this thread eventually be merged with the one in the DC forum?
Glad to see that Superman isn't being all nice to Darkseid, the way he was to Luthor in that other episode ("If there's anything I can do").

Hey, they got rid of Supes' cheek lines. Cool.

Well you know you should wait to make these small indivudal comments in your review of the episode, just like they're doing on the DC forum.
BTW, notice how Batman said "We're going to need some backup" when they were getting O'Ryan, and yet they don't even have the full team for this one. I wonder where Green Lantern and Flash are anyway.

I didn't see that until after I posted my comments.

I was very pleased with tonight's ep. I'm glad the writers kept in past events from when the Superman series sitll aired. Some of Darkside's major pawns were killed, even Darkside killed one of his own, still I wished his "son" had bit the dust but whatever...
Nice interactions between John and Hawkgirl, I can't wait til we find out more about Hawkgirl's past. Seems interesting.
Next to Superman, Batman had some great one liners. Cry me a river indeed! :D
Superman really does hate Darkside. So much to the point he was willing to kill him...and the last bit with Batman...geez, although it's nice to know that every hero has a dark side so to speak... ;)
Awesome ep, hope the rest of Season 2 is this good.

"Because this time i'm not going to stop until you're just a greasy stain on my fists" (proceeds to pop open a six-pack of whoop-ass on Darkseid).
Coolest. Thing. Evar.
I liked the extra backstory on Hawkgirl, and her suggestion "maye we should refer to ourselves as the Just-Us league"
Well worth the wait!

Even though it could be on The DC Forum it isn't, because this is the SVES Justice League "Twilight Parts One And Two" Episode Review.
I can see why Bruce Timm compared this to "Apocklpis Now" and "Legacy". It is really that good. From the opener with Darkseid getting struck down from High Father to the end where Hawkgirl realizes that someday she'll find her home again, this was all great. And now time for a few notes.
- Based on the dialogue from Superman and Brainac, this takes place before the Static Shock/Justice League Crossover "A League Of Their Own" since it was stated that Superman thought he had destroyed Brainac before seeing him here. It would also explain why they would have part of Brainac on the Watchtower.
-Man, Superman is definitley a lot more hard core. The writers definitley knew what they were doing in this arc with him. I espically liked his line about "Because this time i'm not going to stop until you're just a greasy stain on my fists" or something like that when facing Darkseid, and when Batman took Supes away on the Boom Tube and Superman said to him "You know Batman, you're not always right". Definitley a diffrent side then the regular Justice League version of him.
-The "Just Us" league reminded me of the Tiny Toon Adventures and Darkwing Duck episodes that also used "Just Us" to parody The Superfriends. Maybe it was their own little parody as well, becuase it was a good joke.
-When Wonder Woman was hit by that fly-boy on New Genesis she said "He's worse then the Flash". Does that mean that he gave her a little rear smack or breast squeeze or something like that, because the scene look purposley cut (by the creators, probably to keep us guessing like this).
- In one interview, one of the writers said this episode would have a very sly Batman Beyond Justice League Unlimited Refrence in it. Do you think that was when the chidren were being launched by the elders out of New Genesis? Because one of the JLU members was someone who was ejected from a planet onto Apocklips (Barbara aka WarHawk) and I want to be sure.
- I also found it intresting on how J'ohnn said that he, Superman, Wonder Woman and Hawk Girl had all becomed Orphaned or abandoned during their lifetime. And yet he didn't mention that Batman is an orphan. Looks like ol Bruce is keeping it a secret from everyone, probably to keep up his tough guy image (BTW, he had some great quotes here. "That was fun" "The next time I put Superman in charge, hit me really hard" among others).
- You know, while this episode works very well when aired after the two Superman arcs with Darkseid in them, you really need to study up on you're history with ol Atomic Eyes before watching this, since this will probably be the only time this arc will be played after "Apocklips Now" and "Legacy".
- The dialogue here feels much tighter, but I could still pick out a few flaws, but they're really minor and fangirlish, so I won't.
Anyway, this was a great episode(s). I give it(them) a(n) A+.
I just hope the rest of the JL Season Two Episodes can compare.

Damn!!! Superman was pissed! Anyone care to complain about his wuss level? Anyone?! I suppose this was to make up for the War World thing.
To put it simply, everything in this episode was just awesome. I didn't expect Brainiac to drop in but that turned out to be cool anyways.
This arc rocked! 5 stars.

The Batman Beyond reference was when Batman clutched his stomach as if he was sick after stepping off the Boom Tube in New Genesis. Bruce mentioned in Batman Beyond that he always hated Boom Tubes.

When was that? Dark Sied was never in Batman Beyond.

Actually I remember that in the second part of the Call, the JLU and Batman used a Boom Tube to get to Superman's Fortress of Solitude in order to stop the starfish, and Bruce Wayne made a comment on how he never liked those Boom Tubes. I'm only remembering this now for some reason.

Ah. For some reason I only ever saw The Call once. (Curses!) But then I also never managed to see Unmasked. (Double curses!)

Wow that was quite an episode. I'm pretty sure that guy who "was worse than Flash" was a cameo by one of my favorite voice actors Rob Paulsen (Raphael, Yakko, Steal Beak, Max, and a TON more). I got a kick out of that. If it wasn't him that it sure sounded like him.
Sup's was pissed! Awsome way to end. Heh Darkseid said "loser" right before the thing exploded.
Batman was awsome in these episodes as well. Brilliant one liners.
Just-us league... LOL oh the many parodies.
Great episode overall I'd say it's one of the most enjoyable yet.
I love how DC toons really do have a continuaty and it actually works. I wonder if Teen Titans will be a part of the continuaty. It would be cool if it did.

You didn't miss much. Unmasked was average.
But this JL certainly wasn't! It was the best thus far. Hawkgirl backstory! supes and Bats refrencing each other by name! Good writing! Better voice work, especially by Newbern (I can hardly tell the difference between the two Superman voices, so great job on his part.) I did think a few lines fell flat (Braniac interupting Supes saying "Go to hell" wasn't timed correctly.

It was a comics reference. I'm not sure where it referred to. Maybe it was to an all women's League or DeMatteis's Justice League, but I know it was a comics reference. :)

Man Twilight really does make all of season 1 look so bland. This episode had a nice balance of drama, comedy, conflict, and action. Some of the funniest momments The New God slapping WW's ass and Batman's comments. The final battle between Supes and Darkside had me jumping up and down with excitement. And Darside's last comment was simply brillant. I give Twilight a 5/5.

That was Lightray, one of the New Gods from New Genesis. He's usually a regular in most fourth world comics, cast as Orion's best friend.
Firestorm is usually based on Earth and has yet to appear in Justice League (or any of it precursors).

All I can say is, wow. I've been waiting to see SuperMan's thoughts on Darkseid after "Legacy" for a long time, and this ep was well worth the wait. I loved it, and hope it makes it's way to dvd soon.
Also, if you didn't know, I think I know why the ep was called "Twilight." The twilight of the gods was when the Greek gods were killed. Well in this ep, was the destruction of the New Genesis God's home, and the "supposed" downfall of Darkseid.

Great stuff from Batman in this episode. Batman and Superman really need to be together on screen more often. Anyway, Twilight was great and I'll give it an A. It's a shame we have to wait so long for the rest of season 2.

Man, that JL ep was sweet and funny. Batman's one-liners were funny, and I couldn't stop laughing when I heard that slap and WW saying "HEY!" Superman definetly turned from that WWE wimp The Hurricane into Stoncold Steve Austin in this ep(and what better ep for him to do that than the one with his 2 greatest enemies in it), with his attitude and lines like telling Brainiac to go to hell, and wanting to fight Darkside to he's a smear on his hand(I would love to see Sups standing on Dark's carcase whit he pops some cold one, stone cold style)
btw, dose anybody remeber how close Sups was to Batman last season(like when he didn't want him leaving his medical bed in "Injustice for all" and when he hugged him at the end of "The Savage Time" movie), well by the looks of when Sups tells batman he's not always right, the honeymoon of this marriage of heros is over, and that means some rivalry may insue(which sounds like a good idea to me).

I don't know why we have to have a talkback over here. This forum is to discuss any CN show that isn't covered by another forum and the DCUA has a forum but I guess my whining won't accomplish much so I'll hush now.
Anway my full set o' thoughts is over on the official talkback thread on the DCUA but I'll recap.
I absolutely loved this episode. The animation is a hufe improvement over last season and the super wuss is gone. Superman was laying Darksied on his rear. The action, animation, music all great. I especially liked The League vs all those Brainiacs. Batman throwing all those bataragns, incredibly cool. J'onn destroying a Brainiac and then using him as a shield, hilarious. Overall an excellent episode 5 stars easily I wish I could give it more over on the official[ poll.
