Oh I'm screwed! :(
Honestly, has anyone sen Chris Sanders MSX's situation involving him accidently geting himself engaged?
I can't believe this is happening.
Twice
To two different Toonzone members.
What are the odds?
Ok, story goes like this. I'm 15, I've had a steady girlfriend for a year and a half, and she was angry one day. I inocently said that I would be flattered to see her as Mrs. ******** Jester (name not said for confidentialtly reasons), not even thinking that when I said that wedding bells would go off in her head. I get an e-mail just now asking me if I would take her as my wife if we were still together at the end of highschool, in almost those excat words. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!
Please help me!!!

Go along with it for now. You won't be getting out of high school for a while; a billion things could happen by then. Simply put, you'll be a different person. So wait until you graduate. Then, give the marriage thing a shot. If you like it, then you'll have a pretty little wife, and if you don't like it, get divorced. There's no shame in that.

What's with these attention-getting posts lately? Why a 15-year-old needs to worry bout marriage is beyond me. CSM "accidentally" getting engaged and posting about the whole insane affair was bad enough, but this it just plain ridiculous!
Just tell her that you can't get married and you're a typical socially inept teenage guy who has a hard time expressing his feelings. Most guys your age either give too little ("I like you, I guess.") or way too much (like your case).

I would say to explain to her what you meant when you said you would want her to be Mrs... (insertlastnamehere) since it's better to get out the truth in a relationship before it boggs down with uncertanities of this kind.

What is it with you people?! :p
TZ is turning into a bad sitcom breeding ground.
Get out of your situation and clear things up ASAP. Letting things set in won't help, fix the problem soon!

Marriage at the age of 15?
I thought the legal age of marriage was 16 or 18?

Option 1: Get out of this as quickly as possible.
Option 2: Buy some cameras, get Randy Newman to do a theme song, contact ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox/Cable Station, and start "The Jesters". If the ratings become low, have Chris Sanders make a special guest appearance.

Well, the question really depends on you. Do you want to marry her? Do you want to marry her NOW? Do you want to marry her during the NEXT YEAR? If no, just explain. If yes.....
....well, "The Jesters" would make a great sitcom....

No offense, but I find this situatuion silly. You're 16! Chances are, things will be different by the time you're 18 and out of high school. Your gf seems a bit too excited by what seems to be an innocent compliment.
You could just go along with it if it's not hurting anyone. And if you're still together after high school, and you're sure she's "The One", then maybe you could start considering it for real. Until then, slow down.

Rofl, actually...I think he should roll with it for now. I remember not too long ago he was debating to admit his bisexuality to her... and she stuck with him. That says a lot about her in itself as many girls wouldn't stay with someone after revealing something like that. But dude you're 16...don't take it TOO seriously, keep it in mind though. As for you Chris....um...get out...FAST lol.

Dude, just tell her you were joking to try and cheer her up and that it wasn't a serious marriage proposal just yet. You're both way too young. At least wait till Senior prom to pop that kind of question. ;)

Bravo.
No sympathy from me.
Do you even KNOW if you'll be together by the time you graduate? Hormones are raging at your young age. Aren't they lovely.
I think there's more to it than what you're saying. I mean, rhink about it: if you thought it through yuorself, then you would have realized what a stupid mistake you did.
Follow through? No. She'll hate you for doing that. As a woman, I HATE being led on. It's not a good feeling.
If you two would have known better, then you'd know that it was a mere joke and that you're hormonal.
Hey. Don't give me that "it's not hormones!!" speech because it IS. When you're this young (I'm going to be 23 and I don't know exactly what I want yet still), you don't know who you want. She's your girlfriend now. How do you know it'll be her next year, let alone next month? She may want to stray away and do her own thing in school.
That's quite funny that you admitted to be bisexual before you hit 18. Do you even know what that term means? You get seuxally aroused by both sexes. I had conflicting thoughts at 20. I thought I was, but I thought about it long and hard. I'm 100% straight.
Bro, your 16. You shouldn't even be thinking about this. Even if you were to get married at 18, the only thing you'd be doing is making your life harder. Fix this problem, thats all I could say.

On the same sort of line of reasoning as Weatherman suggested, you could just say, "Nice one. Funny joke." That would sort of be a way to let herself off the hook for putting herself out there and getting shot down. On the other hand, it could also have the unwanted effect of making her really upset, and that would definitely be what is referred to as a "bad thing."

Option 2: Buy some cameras, get Randy Newman to do a theme song, contact ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox/Cable Station, and start "The Jesters". If the ratings become low, have Chris Sanders make a special guest appearance.Brilliant! Smell the ratings! :D

To be fair, he did make a big flap about being attracted to a lot of guys in his school, but still liking his girlfriend a lot. Maybe that's just teenage confusion--I don't know. I've certainly never struggled with this particular aspect of puberty.

"The Internet is a place where absolutely nothing happens," and you're taking advantage of that. TZ may be a "general dicussion" board, but this is far from discussion. It's whining. I'm not a psychiatrist, so don't grieve to me like I or most others here can help. Just stop now. If you have to come here and spew, you must be in pretty deep, and nothing else I could say would help.
Later.
