I Truly Appreciate the Toon Zone Forums

I just felt like saying that I enjoy the fact these forums aren't infested hot-headed teenaged idiots who think their opinion is fact or that if they don't like a show no one else likes it and it should be taken off the air.(like at the Official AS board or Funi's board). I'm glad that this is a web community were people like that aren't really present. (That sounded kinda cheesy, didn't it?)

Nah, actually, I agree with you. Out of every forum I visited, ToonZone is one of the few that provides CONSISTENT, MATURE discussion about a variety of topics. And it's not for any lack of hot-head teenaged idiots (after all, I'd be sadly mistaken if I called myself anything else), but I believe the moderation is responsible.

I'm well-aware of the sentiment that TZ mods are too strict, but, from what I've seen, the mods are fair and allow any side of a topic, so long as it doesn't lead to flames and nastiness. I've seen the alternative, where mods could care less about posters' attitudes and make a half-hearted attempt to keep things civil. It's not pretty.

So three cheers for ToonZone! May it keep bringing us joyous online discussion.

You know, out of all the boards I've been to, Toonzone has been one of the most constanly enjoyable and informatal, without being too hateful or having flame war types of threads. So for all of you visitors, log on to the toonzone.net forums and feel the love and magic and... such (selfless board promotion is not affiliated with anyone who goes here and this post was done in the name of fun, not profit).

Yeah I love this place. It really is the best forum around. You can talk about practically anything and because of certain restrictions you have to learn how to do things in a respectful manner.

Kind of like in the real world. :)

That's why they're a joy to moderate, too. Most of you folks are great people that get along with each other. I absolutely hate those other message boards on the net that allow constant flaming - nothing productive can come out of that. I like to think that TZ encourages intelligence and thought - and if not, at least provides a comfy, relaxing place to hang on a slow day.

Yeah, this is an awesome set of forums. Any hot heads who come here never stay long thanks to excellent leadership, and the majority of our posters are a funny, smart, insightful group guys an' gals, plus all of the female members have been surpisingly damn cute :) .

Yeah, this really is a great place to hang out. No arbitray decisions by the mods, no worries about someone harassing you, no worries about people being vindictive, and some of the best friends a person cou7ld ask for.

Yeah, I agree, this is a cool place. No real flame wars, intelligent topics, and fair mods. There's another board where I used to post more frequently, but in the past month or so, I've been finding myself coming here more often.

Unfortunately, considering I've only been really active here in like the last two months, I don't know many people here nearly as well as I'd like to. :sweat: But hopefully that'll change.

Anyways, I just wanted to sing the board's praises before I head off for a week and a half without computer access. :)

Flame wars are fun. I actually don't like their absence. That's when people know "who the phony tough is, and who's the crazy brave."

Even though I'm a semi-semi-lurker here, I think this place is decent.

Plus I love the huge age range in this place and that I don't feel "too old" here seeing that their are a lot of people close to my age and older than me. I mean on many other message boards I visit, I'm usually one of the oldest people their so it makes me feel like a grandmother--even though I'm in my early 20's. XD

I agree, TZ is an excellent ambassador for what an online forum / message board should be, others could learn a lot from the way its run not just in the field of rapidly putting a dampener on any flame wars but also that members really do feel part of a community and - hopefully - aren't afraid to venture an opinion that might conflict with the popular view. Do that most other places and watch the vitriol fly along with the mud. Its welcoming & helpful to new members too and that makes a world of difference.

What I like most about Toonzone is that we can discuss pretty much anything here without it degrading into "internet dialect" (i.e. suXors, roxors, etc); moderators that don't think they are someone's parents or Gods, talk to you like children and that you need to be here. It's like an addiction for me, I have to read what the latest reviews were about a tv show or post my own thoughts on Power Rangers without someone saying "you still watch that? It sucks," etc, etc. Trust me, after spending some time at some other boards, this place is heaven.

I'm sure the things I'm about to say some things that parallel the sentiments of those who have already posted and will probably serve as an echo, but they all come from my heart and mind....
So, to prevent my normal long-windedness, I'll just get right down to my two (or ten or fifteen or...well, lotsa') cents.

This board is not only one of the most well-moderated (and by this, I mean in a consummately professional manner) boards on all of the internet that I've come across, but it is, IMO and I'm sure the opinion of many (if not most) TZ'ers alike, the very epitomy of conversation, hospitality, and "freedom of voice/expression" that the net has to offer. This comparison extends to boards/ threads across a variety of genres, though the fact that this board is relative to the characters and topics I most enjoy discussing simply makes for icing on the cake. I've come across many boards on the web, but none compare to the sheer tolerance and respect that are elicited from and exhibited by all of you, my fellow TZ'ers and my fellow friends. Here, here...let's all put up a cling, cling for the bling-bling.... TZ *clang*. I know I haven't posted much of late...but quality over quantity is big with me, and all of my time here (and hopefully all of my time and thoughts given) have been quality times!

What I find really special about these boards that make them truly exceptional goes beyond the quality and maturity of exchanges that occur, though it certainly and undoubtable has some correlation to it. What REAAAALLY makes this place so darn special is the people that make it up....a true online community where everyone is accepted as having a voice that is special and deserves to be heard, so long as it is tolerant and comes with an ear. And while the moderators do a GRAND job (applause) of FURTHER assuring this is the case, I'm sure they'd more than agree that a great reason for this sense of "home" is simple: all of you (or most, at least!!! I havent' come across any of you who have rubbed me wrong! ;) ) are very nice people. I've not only communicated with you all in terms of thoughts and opinions here....but many of you I know off of the "confines" of these boards: letters, AIM, etc. So, every one of you looking to get somebody new....who have AIM or e-mail (I assume most)..who haven't already...do yourself a massive favor...add some names. (my AIM SN is theoohtheahh) Get to know some e-mails. CAREFULLY get to know folks on and off the boards. As stellar as they are alone, getting to know these folks on and off of here really acentuates just how great this grand condo can be! I've met a ton of great people through here....friendships that I hope will last eternally. It's been....grand.

Well, after being here for a year, and browsing around other forums, I've got to say, this place is one of the best moderated forums I've seen in a long time. I mean, seriously, after going through many message boards, this has got to be the place that can have thousands of members posting here and not have a single flame war.

Although other members don't look too kindly on the mods (I remember a few people called Joe Tully a Nazi before. But that's after they got banned.), for the most part, I'm pleased with how much time the mods are willing to spend on just regulating these forums after each day.

And, though I could be gone for a week without telling people, I always come back to this place, since now, it's become my main message board to post. It's pretty interesting to see how this forum will continue on as newer and newer newbies arrive.

Although this place isn't without faults (I still don't understand why we have to continue to not mention about Lucas/Blum situation in AS/Toonami Board. I mean, the guy pretty much said it out loud.), but it's pretty cool here. So, cheers!

I am very thankful for the Mod's here cause I know this place would probably go to hell without them modding this place and making it a happier place for everyone else. :anime:

While I do get annoyed that I get three e-mails saying a particular topic has a reply (the same topic and the same reply), then when I check, I get three new e-mails saying that same topic has replies, I still love this board.

It reminds me of the old PSX Mailbag on AOL (Where we discussed anything BUT the PS1, even had a long topic on religion) in that it's a friendly place to be where you won't be shot down for liking something. Plus, it's active (Unlike my old haunt at the DMG Ice (http://www.dmgice.com) boards, which is pretty much dead now). And the people here are much more enjoyable than the people at the Anime community at LiveJournal.

Plus, I can be a geek here and have other people be just as geeky! :D

Mostly re-iterating what others have already said. I have been to some boards that started out cool and degraded into flame-y messes for various reasons (hackers, annyoing off-board posters, nothing new to post about etc.)

This is by far the best run board i've been to, I regularly spend at least an hour here when I'm online and I love it always, I'm never bored (especially now that I've started comming to the off topics boards) everyone's usually nice to one another and the sarcasm isn't hurtful. All in all, a wonderful place to hang, regardless of age, gender, orientation or...whateve else would separate us IRL.

I'm in agreement with this post.

While many other message boards are filled with screaming fanboys and girls, or people who have nothing better to do than flame others, this message board is run very well with a team of responsible moderators. :)

Though I'm largely a lurker, I really appreciate the maturity of Toonzone. :D
