Ladybugs are pretty bad too, especially if you have one of those high powered halogen lamps. Every once in a while you smell something "cooking" and then see a wisp of smoke coming from the lamp. It will however certainly cure you of the superstition that killing them is bad luck.

I think this is a valid concern. Seriously.
Yeah, those ants are annoying. Especially when you see the huge, bloated queen ants trundling around. Then, when you squish them they splat everywhere. Ych!

I had this problem once. I hated it because my parents are from haiti, and are so used to bugs, they just let them crawl around. It pissed me off cause all it would take was that one ant they didn't kill to lead the rest of them in our house. Not to mention whatever bug my dad kills he refuses to pick up. He just leaves it there. My mom won't kill spiders because she says it's bad luck. I won't kill them because i hate bugs........but sometimes i have to suck it up and do it.....

Yeah that happened to us a couple years back, and they'd come back periodicly. We'd have them during winter, summer, etc.. So far we've gotten rid of them. When we first tried we used some of those "roach motel" sort of thing traps that were made for ants, but then they just became immune to that right away. Actually after that everytime you killed one it would give off a strong odor which smelled just like the poison in the traps. O_o
Spraying around the house with RAID usually helps, and keeping down any debris elements near the edge of the house that they could colonize in. We just had the little tiny black ants though, I dunno how the larger ones will react to it.

Just kill the buggers with ant spray, then turn the canister on yourself.
Later.
Usually I end up with tons of ladybugs during the summer.
Tons of them.

"Pretty Bad"? Ever see when they get "Really Bad"? In my region, it's been so bad for the past couple years that for a few weeks each fall you'd think you were in a twisted version of an X-Files episode... Ladybugs everywhere, crawling over every inch of the walls, ceilings, and floors. They also bite. I care not of some scientists claim they don't, they do. Nasty things.
The first time, we found ourselves vaccuuming up huge piles of dead, rotting ladybugs when winter arrived. Second time, we knew enough to start vaccuuming the pesky things while they were still alive, and even that wasn't an easy task.

I agree. We've got this problem, and we're in Europe!

Ladybugs are cute when there's one or two. But when there's THOUSANDS of them sneaking into your house just to die, it's time to break out the Hoover.

Ah, I never had an ant problem to deal with in my house. Cockroaches on the other hand... they were nearly everywhere for about a month after I got a new stove and those little bi... buggers are really hard to kill.

I am having a huge ant problem. They are coming in through everywhere. I've tried spray, everything.
Any suggestions?

They're terrible here too. I vaccuum them up with my little mini-vacuum but they always come back. I can't even sleep in one of the beds in this house because of all these damn ants. They infest it at night and I wake up with tons of ant bites. I hate ants. My mom has sprayed a bunch of "natural repellants" and stuff outside the house but it doesn't do anything.
What's all this ladybug stuff about? I've seen a total of like five ladybugs in my life. Back when I lived in Arizona I'd see like one or two a year, but that's it. Where are most ladybugs?

For some reason, I haven't seen any in my house for about five years or so. I don't know what I've been doing different in that time. Maybe the summers have gotten a little cooler, or something.

Really guys? There was no reason to necro this thread. We already have a thread about bugs on the front page, so I'll point you in that direction for all your buggy needs: http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=231619
