Gee, I wonder why DG came to this conclusion. Perhaps if we were to categorize them differently.
Commercials for adults:
Insurance commercials
Gerber grow-up plan
1-800-CALL-ATT
Commercials for kids/teens:
Sprite Remix
Toonami commercials
Ah! Now that explains everything. Yes, we should certainly get rid of the adult commercials that are taking away from Adult Swim!

Yeah, even if they don't appeal to you dosen't mean they're not good for Adult Swim. They should place more of these adult commericals on AS though, may help attract some new viewers.

Can this topic actually bring any type of discussion except making lists of commericials we want to see during AS?
Seriously, can it?

Commercialism is evil and vacuous. I'd rather have "no commercials". I honestly don't care what they play during the commercial breaks. (sans the Adult Swim promos and bumpers, which I cherish deeply) They could play 6 minutes throughout Adult Swim of a purple parallelogram rotating for all I care.
Although I guess those Sprite commercials are kind of fun.

Despite the fact that commercialism brings you much of the things you know and love, including adult swim? Perhaps is some rich beneficiary was supporting them, but no such luck. Commercials are a part of the process, get used to them.

But yet it's a catch-22. You won't have TV the same way without such commercials. For example, you can't cut off a dead, frostbit limb without having your life change in a substantial way, and taking many steps to deal with it.

*Sigh* I never said there shouldn't be commercials. In the way society functions now, there has to be commercials. What I was merely saying is that I resent commercialism and am apathetic towards the commercials that play on Adult Swim, so they could play six minutes of Ed Sullivan singing show tunes during that time for all I care.*
*this statement does not apply to Adult Swim promos and bumpers, which are golden, like Frylock’s delicious golden fries

I don't like commercialism either, but things would also be a lot different without it too. Commercials themselves and overall commercialism run nearly hand-in-hand in this manner. The only reason I made a point about this, is because many people seem to say things like this, but don't take into account how they may not like the world that results from whatever they would like to change (I'm not saying you do necessarily, but I just feel that some people do not).

I dunno. Haven't you seen the "Living Frylock" poster in Frylock's room? All those fries are full of bones. I'm not sure if you'd think those are delicious. :p
