View Full Version : Aqua Teen Hunger Force DVD Rumor [no longer a rumor]

There's a rumor going around the Adult Swim boards about their being a Aqua Teen Hunger Force DVD containing the first 18 episodes (along with some extra features) sometime in the future. Is any of this at all true, or is it just scandalous lies created by desperate fans who want to be cool for providing information about something they know nothing about.

Obviously I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty much sure that nEditor knows nothing.

Edit: I'm completely wrong. Nevermind. :o

A stellar source if ever there was one.

Neditor works at WS, and is thus correct. A DVD is coming. But I don't recalling him ever saying anything about 18 episodes or any details other than "Sit tight. A DVD is on the way."

Actually, if I remember correctly, neditor did indeed say something about having episodes up to "Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past From The Future". I'll dig up the post and edit this in a second.

*One second later*

Folks, don't worry about. The DVDs are on the way. The first one will feature the first 19 episodes, from "Leprichaupolis" all the way up to "Cyber Ghost", and will contain some very cool extras.
I promise.

The first real episode is "Rabbot", "Leprichaupolis" was episode 2, the giant hole in Dr. Weird's lab was there since Rabbot & it's still there.
They are going to remember Rabbot? Right?

Definitely sounds cool. ATHF is the first WS show (outside of SGC2C) that I'd love to see on DVD. Good to see that they're in the works. :D

But the first episode is "Rabbot", and the first two seasons include 18 episodes, not 19. Is there a magical extra episode I'm forgetting about?

maybe they'll count the two different version of Rabbot as two different episodes?

Could this magical episode be the Space Ghost C2C episode that had the 1st apperance of the ATHF?

Leprachanopolis is considered the first episode because that's what AIRED FIRST. Broadcast order.

they might consider Leprauchpolis episode 1 and Rabbot as just the "pilot."

The Landstander

Yea, "Leprachaupolis" was first. I think this was similar with Sealab 2021; though "Radio Free" was the pilot, I'm pretty sure "Chickmate" was the first to air, and would be considered the first episode (someone correct me if I'm wrong there). I'd sincerely doubt they'd just forget about "Rabbot".

That's what he meant by aired first; it was the first to air on the AS block.

Yeah, you're right. Escape from Leprachanopolis was the first episode ot air on Adult Swim. As for the "magical nineteenth episode" as I put it, my guess would be either it's including Super Birthday Snake, or it's just a typo, I'd go with the latter if I were to bet money on it.

Now if there was a box-set DVD of the first 18 episodes of ATHF, the first 21 episodes of Sealab 2021, the first 21 episodes of The Brak Show, the first six episodes of Harvey Birdman, and the 17 most recent episodes of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, with audio commentaries and bonus features, I'd rush out and buy it, no matter what the expense. But of course, even the concept is absurd.

Or maybe they're talking about "Baffer Meal" The Space Ghost Coast To Coast Episode with the pre-Aqua Teen Hunger Force in it. Either that or they're airing "Rabbot" as well as the Rabbot that aired in 2000 (with extra scenes then the one that aren't seen in the AS version). They seem more logical then "Super Birthday Snake" (but less logical then a typo).

Sweet. Espically for those of us who didn't tape it on New Years (and repeat new years) and only saw it once (or twice) and those who haven't seen it at all yet. That one definitley would need a commentary track.

Very cool. If we get uncut Rabbot too, we'll be sitting in fat city :)

there isnt that much diff. in rabbot uncut anyways, just the opening scene has a frog, and the scene with shake at a beauty salon.

Also, that version doesn't have the Schooly D narration, just a Superfriends-esque wipe with generic hip-hop music, and I think in one point, Frylock's dialogue is extended. They should just have both versions, just to satisfy everyone.
