Eh, it was okay. It certainly wasn't the best episode, not many funny lines, it delivered more visual comedy than verbal. The whole Drizzle/Fume thing got alittle old after awhile. The ending was...okay.

That episode seemed really short and boring.
Meh x10.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't even close to being one of my favorites. It just seemed a bit... dull, or something. It had some funny parts, but it dragged, and there weren't really enough humorous exchanges. I liked Steve's response in the opening and the "Fat Albert in a can" line, though.

I loved this episode. It's probably my third favorite now behind Dumber Dolls, and the second mooninites episode. Just cause I'm a fanboy. but it was a great episode I give it :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: 4 out of 5 shakes

Weak! Especially for ATHF. It was overall dull and boring and didn't seem to go anywhere. Only funny things were Master Shake's "meltdown" and "Fat Albert in the can" and they only brought out light chuckled ast best. It was just a dull episode.

Augh! I don't understand what's up with you people.

That was EXACTLY the kind of classic ATHF humor the show is known for. Great adlibbing from Snyder, lots of funny storyline pieces like Meatwad trying to be a sidekick, the goofy sense of continuity established with the worms becoming giant monsters...

It was definitely better than:

- The 2001 season
- PDA
- Cybernetic Ghost

I give this episode four and a half "what the ****?"s.

Sorry, Wilson *cough*Willy*cough*, but I'm in the weak club for this episode. It just wasn't funny to me. No specific reason...I just didn't find much funny. Maybe I'll get more if I watch it a few times, but for ATHF (especially with that big "Who Is The Drizzle?" thing), this was dissappointing. C

Positives: Shake melting, some of the whole Drizzle character
Negatives: Bah, memory fading, can't remember specifics...I just didn't laugh much at it.

Though I agree it was better than PDA.

Tonight's episode was good, in my opinion. I don't like to rate episodes, really. They're advertised as comedy shows, so as long as they're funny, they're okay with me. :)

Yeah, I agree. Ratings are bourgeois. A bad episode of an Adult Swim show is still better then 80 percent of television.

It was definitely better than:

- The 2001 season
- PDA
- Cybernetic Ghost

I'd have to disagree. Cybernetic Ghost, especially, is a classic episode.

OBJECTION, because Danzig for 2 minutes = 15 minutes worth of laughs.

On the subject of "Super Hero" - this was a really good episode. Shake's constant flip-flopping on the subject of his super heroic identity was really funny, totally in-character too. Also, his complete obliviousness to his gradual destruction was funny on a more subversive level. Meatwad, though, STOLE THIS EPISODE AND MADE IT HIS OWN. I present people's exhibits A-D:

A) "This phone doesn't have text messaging. This is a suck-phone."
B) "Fat Albert is in your butt. Okay. In your butt. He's in your butt."
C) "When I get pissed, YOU get mist."
D) The mirror gag.

Good, not top-of-the-line, but I laughed and that was the point of the show. B+

Danzig for 2 minutes = unnecessary cameo that isn't funny and just says the F word over and over again. Yeah, a constant string of swear words is SOOOOO hilarious. :/

For Shizzle My Main Hizzle We Finally Get To Fizzle With The Drizzle. The Aqua Teen Hunger Force Episode Review of "Super Hero".

I think to be able to appreciate this episode, you have to realize it's a parody of you're regualar Super Hero episodes, and the fact that most of the humor comes from the dialogue, most of which is provided by Master Shake. First off, the Dr. Weird segment was good (With Steve not wanting to be involved with Dr. Weird's Snake experiment) and then we dive right into the crisis. It turns out the Drizzle, the Super Hero we've been hearing Months about is Shake's own fantasy character who he plans to use to gain profits from citizens who buy his stuff and to also save some girls. Very funny conversations with Frylock on what the Drizzle is and what his powers are ("He can make the sky pour down with rain and... ruin the Villians Plan's so they have to come back another day, for which he rains on them again. It's a continious cycle) to (In a Marvel inspired idea) has Radioactive Worms try to bite him, and then pours radiation on himself. More hilariousness ensuses when he gets a call From Frylock and Meatwad ("Is Fat Albert in the can?") to trying to pretend to be the Drizzle and Shake at the same time. Meatwad had a nice bit as the Mist Man, The Drizzle's sidekick, and then informed Shake on his new radioactiveness, which made Shake become the Fume, and go out and try to stop crime. Or start it, whatever. I liked Shake's line on how secret idenity's get jack crap money and attention, and then the ending where he's melting into a puddle and Frylock and Meatwad go to Carl's, put not before Meatwad shows him the hideous freak he's become. To summerize, a hilarious episode that only a few people will get. A++

I liked Cybernetic Ghost...except for Danzig. The Ghost himself, and the meaningless history of Carl's pool...now that was great.

I'll give this one a B+. Better than Sealab, not quite as funny as Birdman.

Well to me it is.

And chalk it up to a memory lapse but I just realized that Carl is still around. I thought Danzig was permenant oh well.

Looks like i'm getting my wish last week Shake got killed and then this week he turned into a worthles mutated puddle of whatever the hell flavor he is.

The swearing was not what was funny there, what was funny was the way the other characters interacted with him. Shake and Meatwad trying to pass their kitchen off as haunted, the robot moving in with the ATHF to get away from him, and of course Carl's sales pitch. "Blood goin' up a wall...that's good, right?" You can't deny that episode is a pretty standard example of ATHF's randomness and sheer unpredictability.

He's pistachio, I think.

As for Danzig, I thought his character was funny. There's a difference between spicing the dialogue with using of the word "****" and gratuitously saying it. Danzig's character was the former, and the latter would be considered "immature".

I chuckled at a few of the things Meatwad said like "Fat Albert on the can" (I shouldn't have to tell anyone he was trying to say "Prince Albert in a can" [old joke (http://www.edifyingspectacle.org/memoirs/phonefun.shtml)]).

But overall the episode was boring and it didn't even have Carl in it. Mooninites or Interfection it wasn't.

I guess so. Hey Matt, when you were listing the ATHF episodes that "Super Hero" was better then, were also going to but "Super Birthday Snake" in there, since you only gave that a C-?

Yeah, I know it's a pretty pointless question. Dont' remind me.

I agree with Matt Wilson's 1st post. I spent a half hour LOLing all over the place (Birdman was good, too), but the review threads are real downers in the beginning.

While it's still wouldn't top "Interfection", this was brilliantly hilarious. It's largely in the pauses and cadences in the speech; ATHF is a very close 2nd to Space Ghost in that WS tendancy, especially Shake. His dialogue and timing may be the best in all of ASC, and this ep is a prime example.

I know enough about superhero lore, and have enough sarcasm toward that genre (both due to being an indy comic book fan - love the medium, but giant indifference to it's "mainstream") to 'get' and appreciate the Spiderman/et al references. That also wrung lotta laughs from me.

Evcellent show, for a ATHF w/out Carl. :D

-------------
Hey, I have an idea...

(Shake starts to sizzle from radioactivity)

Frylock: "Uh-oh."

Meatwad: "Uh-oh."

[Title Card: "SIX MONTHS LATER..."]

(Shake is melting a bit more)

Frylock: "Uh-oh!"

Meatwad: "Uh-oh!"

Carl: "Ah, uh-oh."

[Title Card: "SIX MONTHS LATER..."]

(Shake has odd growth, melts further)

Frylock: "Uh-oh!"

Meatwad: "Uh-oh!"

Mooninites: "uh-oh."

Master Shake: "What?"

[Title Card: "SIX MONTHS LATER..."]

(Shake is just a puddle now... with a face)

Frylock: "Uh-oh!!"

[I](Meatwad's eyes widen quickly)

Dr. Evil: "UH-OH!!!!!"

Carl: "Oh, this is bogus, I'm outta here." (Leaves)

Better than Sealab, yes. My favorite bits:

"Aw, hell no!"

:meatwad: "Hello, Japan? Yes, I'd like to speak to Godzilla."

:shake: "Oooh, that feels warm. Yeah. Warm. WARM! AUUUGH!"

and last, but not least:

Mr. Mister.

Classic. I haven't laughed this hard at an ATHF episode since Interfection. Shake is an awesome character, and this episode proves why. From making people pay to call Drizzle for help (after the first month) to his reaction when seeing himself in the mirror, I was in non-stop laughter. I hope the rest of the season is just as good if not better than this episode.

Oh, and Matt, you're not the only one..I didn't think the Mooninites were that great, and was very suprised to find out it on many people's favorite episodes lists. Two of the few episodes where I spent more time just smiling than laughing.

Terrible episode. It was good up until Shake went off about the Fume and turning radioactive, I couldn't understand a word of what he was talking about. Usually that's OK, but it just seemed bad and hard to follow. C-

Meatwad and the toxic waste taking effect were the best parts, but this episode just wasn't up to par. It got kind of boring with them just talking sometimes. But the decay and Meatwad saved the episode.

Average ep that falls somewhere between Family Guy and Sealab in terms of laughs.

Well, if you accept the ATHF cameo in Space Ghost as maintaining continuity with the series (ATHF continuity, there's an oxymoron if I ever heard one) Master Shake is actually chocolate.

White on the outside, brown on the inside... insert generic Michael Jackson joke here.

While Aqua Teen Hunger Force may not be up to the level of continuity that say... Futurama is, it's still the WS with the most continuity (Since Sealab 2021 and The Brak Show have both seen characters dying and then coming back without any explained reason. ATHF has not had that) and probably is one the same level as Family Guy to continuity. I mean, they've had the Rabbot Hole shown in the First episodes, both the Moonities and the Aliens second appearences have been true to their first one, and another mentions. Sealab has a lot of camoes, but those are just random and non-continuity, BTW.

I'm sorry, but this episode just didn't do it for me. None of the parts had me laughing out loud, or even chuckling. Pretty dull.

[/quote]Well, if you accept the ATHF cameo in Space Ghost as maintaining continuity with the series (ATHF continuity, there's an oxymoron if I ever heard one) Master Shake is actually chocolate.[/quote]

Well, although I agree that is an oxymoron, if we're going to debate ATHF continuity, I wouldn't count "Baffler Meal" as canon. The "Baffler Meal" ATHF (or BMATHF) and the Series ATHF (SATHF) are two distinctly different sets of Aqua Teens. The main differences: The BMATHF Master Shake speaks with an Austrian accent, has a broader looking face and stouter dimensions, is chocolate flavored and has a label on his back, while the SATHF speaks with an American accent, is leaner, is pistachio flavored, and has no visable label. The BMATHF Frylock has arms and limbs, a different face and voice, different powers, and is just a teenager in a costume. The SATHF hovers and is clearly genuinely made of French fries. The BMATHF also seems to exist solely as Burger Trench mascots, while the SATHF solves crime in a New Jersey bungalow. Plus the BMATHF was brutally killed by Space Ghost.

While Aqua Teen Hunger Force may not be up to the level of continuity that say... Futurama is, it's still the WS with the most continuity (Since Sealab 2021 and The Brak Show have both seen characters dying and then coming back without any explained reason. Actually, the ATHF is probably tied with Sealab and Brak Show in character deaths and scenario mutilations that are magically fixed in the next episode.

A very decent episode, with great lines from shake. This is another episode which glorifys the valuablility of shake. Without him the show wouldnt work, as proved in this episode (this is just my opinion, dont shoot the messenger/writer of the message). I admit the show wasnt at its best but decent. Compared to the best episodes of athf, this is just the drizzle.

Overall grade: B+
(very good jokes, though not the best episode ever.)
