By popular demand, we'll try out a "Cards" thread this week. Will it succeed? You guys determine that.

This thread is for talk about the AS b&w cards only. Here's hoping they don't recycle all of them. Some I wouldn't mind. I'm sure more people could catch the SGC2C news if they missed it last week.

Here's hoping for some production/DVD/anything news. Kikaider and Big O are creeping up on us, will they get the spotlight tonight? We will have to wait and find out....

If you don't mind superloud4, I'm going to try doing the Card Transcript for this Sunday (at least) since I promised I do at least one. Expect one up either very late tonight or sometime Monday Afternoon.

Edit: McGuirk is indeed hilarious.

For tonight's transcript, I'm going to try using Flash instead of just describing things. I'm not going to bother with the music, it'll take way too long, but it should be easier for me and more fun to watch.

Question: Why are they playing the same song three times in a row now? Is this going to be the official Version 3 music now?

I think you're forgetting one thing superloud4. The factoid that in order to do the transcript for the cards, you have to get it up first, and it will be I who will be getting the transcript out first. Then again, I'm guessing that if you're doing it in Flash, there can be room for two.

Pre Sealab 2021-

Hello

Sealab is next

This weeks Sealab caused much deated and gnashing of teeth.

But then 7030 added some disco music and a bear.

And everyone chilled out.

The Sealab bear will be followed by the C2C: Terminal.

Which unfortunatley contains the ony death scene Space Ghost ever did.

Pre Oblongs-

You know, Debbie Klimer, of the snotty Debbies?

Who will win?

Then Garlic Head, Sr. has a bone to pick with The Amazing Chihuahua.

Oblongs Mid Break One-

Stay here if you want to get your asses blown off

[adult swim]

Oblongs Mid Break Two-

We saw the premise for Cartoon Network's UK's new animated show, The V-Birds.

The V-Birds are an animated rock group from another planet.

But they're trapped in a dance machine on Earth.

And if the kids stop listening to them, they'll die.

We think that's genius.

So

Please don't stop watching us or we'll die.

Thanks

Filler-

This is fill

Every day we get a call

from this woodpecker.

(Shot of Woodpecker pecking at tree)

The woodpecker tells us that his tree is coming along nicely.

That the kudzu is getting dangerously close.

And that we'll need around 2:30 of fill for the next night.

You should listen to birds.

We do.

Bees do.

Pre Trigun-

Hey

Welcome to action.

It's late...

...but that hasn't stopped you.

in appreciation for your staying,

We have a very cool Trigun,

(Silhouette of Spike Standing) Followed by a decent Bebop,

(it's all about Hyperspace.)

Enjoy!

[adult swim]

(Trigun Next screen flashes)

Trigun Mid Break One-

Tommorow Night at 1,

Upon tuning in you will see

the fresh face of Mr. Stampede.

(That's Vash to you)

(Shows Vash's silhouette standing and crouching and pointing his gun out)

Vash got that ol' "Kid n Play" hair.

Was it Kid or Play that had the hair

We don't remember, but they were huge for a while there.

Crazy.

[adult swim]

Trigun Mid Break Two-

Coming up next,

Spikke and Faye will argue a lot.

But we think they're secretly in love.

(Silhouette of Faye on Screen standing with one hand on her hip)

At least we hope they are.

'Cause otherwise,

All that bickering is just annoying.

Poor Jet.

[adult swim]

Post Trigun-

Before Trigun comes back,

Think about this:

There used to be a time without email.

No internet, no cell phones...

No ice cream...

Okay, wait. That's going too far back.

Hopefully in 10 years, this stuff'll be Just as indispensable.

We don't buy it either.

[adult swim]

Pre Cowboy Bebop-

Welcome to 1:30 am on Adult Swim,

Sponsored by Cowboy Bebop Episode #104- "Getaway Shuffle."

We often comapre the "gateways"

In Cowboy Bebop to the "stargates"

From the Buck Rodgers series.

But in all respects, we like Bebop much, much better.

Buck Rodgers aint no Spike Spegal.

Word is bond.

Cowboy Bebop Break One-

Cowboy Bebop will return in a moment

Before it comes back,

Let's play a game:

(Silhouette of Speak Standing in the background, fist in the air)

Le'ts count how many commericals

We crammed into this break

We're guessing about six.

And we bet none of those six

Are for the Bebop movie.

Bummer

[adult swim]

Cowboy Bebop Break Two-

Tomorrow night at 1:30,

... Oh. Oh, what is this?

This is nice

Who dis?

Oh, yeah. J Dilla from

Unreleased, Volume 1."

We got this from our friends at www.bling47.com.

Jay Dee is th man

[adult swim]

Post Cowboy Bebop

(Silhouette of someone upside down with their foot in the air)

Well, that was pretty good.

It gets real intense too.

Why can't they make any American cartoons as good as this?

We'd love to know, if anyone has the answer.

In the meantime, we'll just have to keep getting more anime.

So far no New Kikaider ads yet, but I'm guessing they're waiting for Monday Night AS to be able to show them. After all, the show is airing on Weekdays, and you know Adult Swim's policy of airing all anime ads a week before the show starts. I think it's two weeks for comedy shows (The only one to compare it with though is Family Guy, at least for the new look). Oh, and thanks for the compliements, superloud4 and Artemis. Hmmm, maybe we could alternate days or something to that nature. You know, to give you less work (since you probably have better things to do).

I guess there's no real points for a transcript of the promos if they're just repeats. Oh well, we knew it would only be a matter of time. I just hope that they plan on showing new bumpers soon since they'll run these to the ground if they keep repeating them.

sl4
06-03-2003, 12:16 AM
If the "we made these about a month ago" promo is correct, maybe we'll get a new set of these every month?

If that's the case, I'm hoping they'll rotate between the sets once they get a few weeks' worth, instead of just ditching the old ones...then, repeats wouldn't be as annoying.

"FONTS" INTERSTITIAL:
We've been getting thousands of letters asking one thing:
Why did you choose Helvetica Neue?
The answer is simple, yet complex.
We hate don't like serif fonts. ("hate" has a line through it)
They're fine for wedding invitations and corporate email. (written in Times or a similar font)
We just don't like them.
More importantly, they don't look good on your TV screen.
Would you like this if it were in Hancock? (written in script handwriting font "Hancock")
How about Brush Script? (written in "BrushScript")
Or Edwardian? (written in fancy script font "Edwardian")
Apple Chancery? (written in "Apple Chancery")
New York? (written in serif font "New York")
Times? (written in "Times")
Didot? (written in "Didot")
Curlz? (written in "Curlz")
Lucinda Handwriting? (written in "Lucida Handwriting", they misspelled it as "Lucinda")
Clarenton Condensed? (You get the idea by now...)
Baskerville?
Zapfino?
Of course not.
The rounded embellishments make it too hard to read on TV.
(blank pause)
But...
Baskerville is starting to grow on us. (written in "Baskerville")
What the heck. (written in "Baskerville")
