ESPN "American Idol" style

According to Sports Illustrated and espn.com, SportsCenter will have a weekly "America Idol" style show to determine its next anchor. Your thoughts?

I hate "American Idol" and reality tv in general, but I gotta say that this doesn't bother me. I suppose because this won't be manufacturing a talentless pop star that will be forced down our throats as American Idol has done with "what's-her-name".

If this is a genuine attempt to find a good anchor for the show in an interesting manner, and it's based on talent/ability, not the rude remarks of an overblown talent scout (that's what Cowell is) then I can accept it. As for whether or not I watch it, I don't know. It will be difficult.

They just better not make a movie about it. And the winner better not release an album/book or anything of the sort.
