It's my 18th birthday today, and I only have five dollars to my name. But you know what? I'm probably one of the luckiest damn people on the face of the earth. Why? Because I'm the youngest of 8 children. Becuase I have parents that have been married for 24 years and still love eachother. Because I have family that would drop everything if I needed help, give up everything for me. I have friends that I've known since I was five. I have food in my stomach, a roof over my head, clothes on my back. I have everything goin for me, at least, everything that counts. I have family, friends, LOVE. Who the hell needs five dollars when you have that? And I'd only be too glad to give them my last five dollars if that means giving those who lost what I hold so dearly, that I have so readily, some semblance of that happiness back. It's my 18th birthday today, and giving them my last five bucks is the best present I could possibly get.

WHo are you giving the $5 to? The WTC relief? I refuse to donate any money to the Red Cross because they give money to illegal immagrants on Long Island. They give them food and resources and build shelters for them so they have places to stay. They are helping to break the law. Yes, I know their are other charitable organizations that are donating money to the WTC. My school is collecting money for the Red Cross though.

That's really nice. I think you are very lucky considering how alot of families tragically split and throw their children's lives into turmoil. I'm glad to see everything is great in your family.
