^_^
It's Hamtaro time...Hamtaro!
Every weekday at 3:30 p.m. Cartoon Network is bringing us all new epiosdes of the most pint-sized anime yet!
You've got to love those Ham-Hams! So small and cute, and even though people say it's a little kids series, you know you love it even if you say otherwise!
Monday: The Haunting
Tuesday: Fortune-Telling Comes True!
Wednesday: Baby Goat
Thursday: Animal Hospital
Friday: Knitting Craze

The Haunting:
This played out like a bad ep of Scooby Doo but with Ham power! So basically I didn't like it to much. Forest's weird writer friend was far to weird for me! Who dresses like that!? The Ham parts of the episode were good though. Nice to see Howdy and Dexter tagalong but still not a good episode. http://members.aol.com/kimminakochan/chicken.gif

A flamboyantly gay horror writer? Okayyyyyy.
... and I would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you meddling ham-hams!

Japan is NOT okay on TV, but Gays are? I wish CWI felt the same way...

Eeeeee~! Kawaii usagi! Wai wai!
More fun ham-ham schemes based entirely on assumptions that were taken too far.

Exactly.... I'm beginning to think that these networks are racist now... I only saw the begining of today's episode, "Goat placentas or something" But I noticed some bad writing and cultural cover ups.. for one, I think the car Conrad was driving was fliped around so he'd look like he was driveing on the other side of the road. The sign for Dillan's Ranch was painted over, even though it was mostly off screen, what's worse, ShoPro is usually good with Digital paint, as it is almost un noticable, but in this episode, it was vibrating and flickering like a bad DBZ edit. For some reason, I also think the car was digitally added in that scene.
Are they getting overly cocky with the anime like 4-KE with Pokemon? or was this just not one of their better episodes? you be the judge...
What is so exciting about seeing goats anyways?
Any ways, on the Haunting, they didn't paint over the "Writting" on the Ham-Ham Ghost, and as always it brings up the question, "is this taking place in Japan or not?!" Mr.Black not only got a hilarious name, but Only made me more confused on ShoPro's discisions. Why down-play any Japanese culture, even tiny references, but put a flamboyantly gay man on? Any other company would have censored Mr.Black so fast -_-
And they were doing so well too... why does this always happen?*Remembers the good ol' Pokemon dub* ahhh....

Nice to see Pepper and the farm again, though the whole pregnant goat thing wasn't all that exciting.

Question; Was the doctor a man in the Japanese?

No, she's a parody of Oscar from Rose of Versailles anime.
In the 1970s TV shoujo series, Oscar was a girl disguised and raised as a guy (and thus her male name), so she could be a knight in French King Louis XV's Court (particularly, Princess Marie Antoinette's bodyguard, ala Sir Lancelot on Queen Guinevere) and do guy stuff like Joan of Arc did.

Somebody beat me to it, but...
OMFG, the vet and her assistant are Oscar and Andre from Rose of Versailles, right down to the overly dramatic poses with sparkles and roses! I had the misfortune of seeing ROV at the local anime club last year, and I haven't laughed this hard since, well, Dual on TechTV last night. Forget the chicken episodes, this made the entirety of Hamtaro worth watching!

When I first saw that veternarian I thought of Rose of Versailles :p did I just hear Brian Drummond's voice as the assistant?

The whole RoV parody had to be the funniest thing that I've seen in a while in Hamtaro. It gets 5/5 stars just for that.

Ah so that's what it was. I didn't get it, since the only exposure I've had to ROV is the name and the inital concept. :p Still thought it was funny though.

Two weeks ago, when I saw the Pop Star episode, I asked myself, "Did the writers have some crack when they were writing this episode?" Today, after seeing the two ROV vets (I didn't get the anime reference until I read this post), not to mention that monkey thing last week and that writer on Monday's episode, I am now convinced that one of the Hamtaro writers (Japanese of course) is indeed writing these episodes on crack, and frankly, I LOVE IT :D.

At least I'm almost right. I suspected she was an anime refrence, but I thought she looked like an Leji Massamoto (Galaxy express 999) charactor.

Nothing too exciting, but a good solid episode for Hamtaro.

Knitting Craze:
Second best episode of the week! Brandys been getting alot of time in this new season and now he got some love from those great Ham-Hams!
