It's Hamtaro time...Hamtaro!
Every Sunday at 6 p.m. and Weekday at 3:30 p.m. Cartoon Network is bringing us the most pint-sized anime yet!
You've got to love those Ham-Hams! So small and cute, and even though people say it's a little kids series, you know you love it even if you say otherwise!
To kickstart Season 2 CN is having a 2 hour mini-marathon!

Pop Star:
What a good episode to start off this new season with! For new viewers the Ham-Hams all re-introduced themselves in very....odd ways hehe!
This actually was a pretty human-heavy episode. Glitter, Laura, and Travis stole the show while the hamsters took a backseat for once.
Lots of "heke?"'s which is always good and the Ham-Hams stretching out Oxnards face for laughs was terrific!
Hamtaro and the Sunflower Girls were totally great~! Love love!
In a Pinch a Rival Appears:
Hmm another new human character introduction and unlike Glitter it seems Roberto may just stick around. Is he voiced by the same guy who does Carlos in TF:A?...
More ham-action in this episode! Boss, Hamtaro, and Oxnard messing with Roberto's practice was funny! I really liked how they nailed that mean old kitty to!
All in all a nice episode. Go chicka-cheetas!!
Treasure Hunting:
This one was ok. Nothing toooo funny about it which is unusual for an episode with Elder Ham. I must say I fell for the story of ancient hams hiding that treasure...silly Elder Ham needs to stop being so forgetful!
Scary Principal:
!!!! that guy really WAS scary! I'm glad mine isn't like that one...
Really good episode with lots of Ham-mischief and a crazy moving mask.
I just hope that the um principal doesn't appear again!!

I missed the 1st episode, but I caught the rest.
In a Pinch a Rival Appears: I'm now more terrified than ever because Carlos' VA is doing the new character, Roberto. I keep thinking that this VA is going to do a Super Fly impersonation at any second and go "Oh my fricken head! I'm so wasted!" :p Anyways I'd like to see some more character development with Roberto.
Oxnard, Boss, and Hamtaro trying to make Roberto fall while he was running with the soccer ball was hysterical. And that cat got his share of pain for a change.
Treasure Hunting: This was a boaring episode to me. It was just another wild adventure that the Ham-Ham's got mixed up from Elder Ham's forgetful memory.
Yet I wonder where did Lara go with her backpack before her father was asking for his breakfast? Was it really morning or did they change the script?
The Scary Principle!: This was my favorite episode of the 3 I saw. Lara's run in with the principle and Boss' expression, the principle chasing the mask around the school, the principle saying to Mr Yoshi "Bigfoot? You believe in that myth? Thats nonsence! Now where did that moving mask go?", and of course the line of the episode "You know I kinda look like a gangsta!". :p

Comments on the Sunday episode:
Pop Star: The main plotline, with Glitter being jealous about Laura because of her interest in Travis kinda reminds me of Utena, specifically how Namani gets jealous when Touga shows interest in other girls or vice versa. Of course, Glitter's plan backfires, and Laura and her friends end up singing on Japanese on TV. As for the Ham-Ham parts in which they try to befriend Sparkle, considering all the weird things that happened, it makes me wonder if the the creators were on crack when they did this episode.
In A Pinch, A Rival Appears: As the title suggests, a rival for Travis appears by the name of Roberto. The parts where the main male Ham-Hams (Hamtaro, Oxnard, Boss) attempt to "teach Roberto a lesson" was funny. One question: does Kana's interest in Roberto continue in the series.
Treasure Hunting: Nothing much to say here
Scary Principal: All I'm mention here is about the principal's appearance. In outfit definitelty has "GTO" written all over it. As for the eye brows, it definitely has some sort of FLCL feel to it.

I wonder where DBZALLSTAR is?
Laura is Really Gone!
Whew not as scary an episode as I thought it would be! I rather liked it. Laura and the Ham-Hams getting lost only to end up finally getting to know Maria! About time I say. Laura as a clown? Silly Boss! But why did they say teen girls? Its kind of obvious Laura and her crew are not even close to being teens!
BWAHAHAHA!!!
Instead of Hamtaro they're airing Kenshin! XD

Was about to check out Tuedsay's episode of Hamtaro, and it looks like the Easter Monkey arrived five days early :D

Boss, The Cool Ham of the Sea
Kentaro? I actually thought the opening monolouge was being said by Kana about old Japan probably cause her and Laura were reading about it..but then Kenshins title card came up and I was like ??!!?!?
Anyway at least we got most of the new Hamtaro episode. And it was pretty good. Ya got to love the beach and episodes in it! Swirly-eyed seasick Boss was the greatest! And so is Brandy! That silly dog had great moments like when that lil crab pinched him ehee!
Real good episode says I! http://members.aol.com/kimminakochan/chicken.gif

Kentaro? Isn't that the name of the guy from Goldenboy? Swaying back on topic, within a couple of seconds, I knew that the Easter Monkey somehow mixed the Ruroni Kenshin tape with the Hamtaro tape. Thankfully, they noticed the error and began playing the Hamtaro episode. Of course, that incident lead me to worrying about popping up in the time slot usually intended for Ruroni Kenshin.

um...
er...
That was a unique was to start off the episode...
I guess...
They should do that more often...
It completly caught me of-gaurd...

Due to forgetfulness, I missed Sunday's and Monday's episodes. Tuesday, what we saw of it, was good. Back to the beach, and continuity nods to the first beach episode. I still love the fact that a show for young children does continuity so well. Boss tries to score points with Bijou and just hands Hamtaro a chance to be the hero. Always nice to see Brandy do more than sleep, too.

An interesting set of episodes thus far, though they are a mixed bag. My favorite so far has to be 'Laura is Really Gone!'. I was waiting for Laura to finally meet Maria. Boss's vision of Laura leaving for the circus to become a clown was the highlight of the episode. The worst was the obvious 'Treasure Hunting' with 'Scary Principal' following behind.

LOL, the ham-hams caught the dads!
Once again, the girls prove to be more interesting than the ham-hams.

Scary Mountain Ghost:
Yes~! Another great episode~! Poor Hamtaro and Oxnard getting super scared by the ghost story at the beginning was great! Elder Ham's story was silly cause he forgot it and the Ham-Hams then ditched him lol but he got his revenge! All the crazyness being lost in the spooky woods was good to especially the Ham-Hams taking down the dads hehehe!
Fresh Summer Breeze:
wheeeeee! Maria is back! she is like totally cool so its good to see more of her. Wasn't it so cute when Bijou was being carried around on that hat? I loved it! and we got more Brandy goodness~! Great episode! http://members.aol.com/kimminakochan/chicken.gif

Is it me or is CN slipping up in having Hamtaros next ep preview showing? If they wanted it to show they wouldn't have that darn guys voice over it.
Aaaaannyway.
Chicken Contest:
Those chickys are the perfect anti-ham crew don't ya think? Mr Yoshi sure has hard luck with love and chickens but after today maybe not anymore! Loved how the Ham-Hams kept cheering for him and trying to help bring Loooooovvee!
Howdy really stole the shows with his quick quips like these:
"I'd like to stick that rose up his nose!"
"Ya feathered freaks!" lol
And week 1 ends on a great note~!

It's good that they are showing the ep previews, bad that the voiceover is over the preview instead of the credits. Interesting that Friday's episode did not match Thursday's preview. But it's okay because Friday's episode was...
A Mr. Yoshi/Charlotte/chicken episode!
That was a laugh riot. Episodes like this make the whole series worthwhile.

I just still can't get it over my head that Charlotte is Akane Tendo. :p

Bah, they changed it from "falling in love" to "wanting as a best friend".
It was an ok change, but...it's still an edit. ON HAMTARO.

There were some notable 4-Kids Enbtertainment style things in this episode...(Chicken Contest)
So far, they've done a good job localizing the anime especially howdy's jokes and little scenes
but in this episode, most of the japanese kanji was digitally removed(Some was replaced with english writing, while other stuff just remained blank)
Normally, I don't really care about this, but every thing in this episode was so blaringly japanese that it was kinda sinceless to remove the writing.
Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit strange that the characters retain their Japanese last names but get english First names?
Laura Haruna?
Philip Yoshi?

I was really surprised to see some of the kanji intact in today's episode. I noticed the edit change to "best friends", and find it really pointless. I don't understand the need to change it, but it's the next best thing, I guess.

Hadn't occurred to me before. Better than renaming them completely, I suppose. Besides, people in the US are used to last names from all over the world.
