I guess they decided to get full use out of their monkey rentals for April Fool's. I just saw a commercial for this stunt. Apparently this monkey in a bunny suit is hosting cartoons all day. The website doesn't seem to have any more info, but there probably isn't anything more to say about it.

I love a bunch of monkeys taking over an all-cartoon channel just like the next guy, but this is taking it to far. CNHQ should just admit they like to have all the monkeys because they are infact, monkeys.

To be precise, monkeys are in the Primate order, same as us.

The critter in the commercial is a chimpanzee, which is our closest relative of all- it shares about 98% of our DNA.

But a chimp is not, strictly speaking, a monkey. Being relatively large, tailless, and big-brained, it's actually an ape (as are gorillas, orangutans and gibbons.)

I guess they had to call it a 'monkey' in the ad, because they needed a two-syllable noun to correspond with 'bunny', and neither 'chimp' nor 'chimpanzee' fill that qualification.

My guess would be until the end of the month, but after Easter, they will probably be put aside. It is only a matter of time before everyone gets tired of it.

I was thinking it was probably more along the lines of, they realized that they would have the monkeys and trainers around for a day or two, then while they were planning April Fools someone realized Easter was coming up and that they should do something for that, and then decided to just throw a bunny suit on a monkey as long as they had them around anyways.
