Ever since I heard about Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun existing I thought a special block of these would be awesome sometime.
I mean, in the downtime when they're not showing anything new, to show a Best Of these Space Cowboy shows back to back for a week or at least a day.
Think it'll happen?

I can understand Trigun being called a western, but why the other two? Just because Cowboy Bebop has the word "cowboy" in it? I admit, the first episode is influenced slightly by the wild west genre, but that's mostly just a tribute to the movie Desperados. There are a lot if citings of cowboys, and there's the episode Cowboy Andy, but it's not a western. And Outlaw Star has nothing to do with westerns.

The only way Outlaw Star should ever come to back AS should be in an Adult Swim edited form, the Toonami version should stay locked in a cellar.

All three are space westerns told in western stlyes and slinging western themes.
Anyway, it's still a good idea now that they got the three Space Cowboy animes on one network.

For Outlaw Star and a good portion of Cowboy Bebop episodes are told in the style of westerns. Plus, all three series are classified as "Space Westerns" anyway.
Anyway, the idea is good if only we could get AS-edited Outlaw Star.

A western-themed week could happen, but chances are it won't. I don't see a reason on why CN would want Outlaw Star to return, let alone on Adult Swim Weekdays for a little 'marathon'. But you never know what is going on in their minds.
In my viewing opinion, I would really like such a thing to occur.

Agreed.

If it was just for a one-week special, they could just re-edit whichever four of the Outlaw Star episodes would air that week; no one would ever know the difference, and it wouldn't cost nearly as much as re-editing all 25/26 episodes (come on, show Hot Springs Planet Tenrei!).

Why dont they call up ADV and ask for Wild Arms while they're at it ;) Maybe they can keep a "UNEDITED" promise this time. Uncut anyway. There's still swearing/nudity in those shows.

Too be honest, Cowboy Bebop is more inspired by dozens of popular culture genres. The basic theme consists of light-hearted episodes with dry wit, and dramatic film noir-esque episodes. Despite the reaccuring theme of cowboys (which is mostly metaphorical), I really wouldn't consider it a western the way I'd consider Trigun one.

Amen, Aurochs. I agree about the film noir thing the most. Maybe I just didn't notice the western references because I avoid westerns like the plauge. I did see Desperado, and saw the references in the first episode. I was able to pick up on the film noir stuff because I watch film/neo-noir movies.

I seem to remember Outlaw Star using some western style music, though not as much as Trigun. So, I do think Outlaw Star was intended to be a space-western, however, I'm not sure about Cowboy Bebop, but if Cowboy Bebop isn't a space western then why is the word Cowboy in the title?

...then why is the word Cowboy in the title? Because cowboys are popular culture archetypes, and brief citings and homages to things like cowboys don't necessarily make a show a western. Plus, in Cowboy Bebop, "cowboy" is kind of a euphemism for vigilantes and bounty hunters. It's not like any of the characters have 10-gallon hats, horses, and lassos. (Well, except for Cowboy Andy, but he's a joke)
