Gamecube comes out November 18. The games that will be launched with it are....
Extreme G 3 November 18
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II November 18,
SSX Tricky November 18
Crazy Taxi November 18
Batman: Dark November 18
NFL Quarterback Club November 18
All-Star Baseball 2002 November 18
The Simpsons Road Rage November 18
Wave Race: Blue Storm November 18
NHL Hitz 2002 November 18
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 November 18
Luigi's Mansion November 18
Super Monkey Ball November 18
Madden NFL 2002 November 18
Pikmin November 19

And of course the two games I was hoping would be at launch aren't. They have been postponed, and those games are...

Super Smash Bros. Melee December 3
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem December 3

Same here. Which is sucky, since Nintendo usually have some more games that appeal to me than Sony or (eventually) Microsoft have. Nintendo, yes, concentrates more on the kids-I'm not into all those bloody, gorey games you see on the Playstation....gimme something with plot (like Sonic Adventure 2) or plain, fun action (Super Smash Bros.) any day!

Yeah, sorry to hear about Pikmin being delayed... when I first saw it I thought the designers had taken up drugs, but after playing it for five minutes I was hopelessly hooked.

And there are people who are questioning whether Dark Tomorrow will make it for launch... we haven't seen hide nor hair of its gameplay yet, and considering how enthused people were over the great CGI sequence, this game is being watched. Then again, we got little preview information for Kemco's earlier effort, ROTJ. Then again (again), that was because it blew. Here's hoping it's just not ready...

And in case no one noticed from the list Clownprince put up, Starfox has been delayed too. Dangit.

EDIT: i just see I missed this: "These product prices are rounded off from the current Japanese Yen to US Dollar conversion. "

My bad...nevermind me...

You're right, it won't be $200... it'll be $199. No fooling. Looks like Nintendo designed this bugger really efficiently for its power.

word is, Nintendo is loosing money on this system. But, what they loose on the cores, they make up for in the games. See, the games cost nintendo like a total of $10 to make..and they charge $50...so..they are getting money out of this somehow..

That's how it's worked with game systems ever since the original Nintendo, maybe even since the Atari. Anybody remember Turbografx16? (I think that's the game system, the one with the game Bonk, the little caveman dude). Remember how it cost like $199? You know how nobody remembers it anymore?

Game systems learned early that once a customer puts a fairly large chunk of change on game system, they're more likely to buy the games then keep switching back and forth between consoles. So they'd take a little loss selling the unit, but make a killing on the games. Just as Bird_Boy said.

Actually $200 for a Gamecube isn't that cheap, they can't price it similar to PS2, because PS2 is also a dvd player, while GC is only a console. GC will probably go down to $150 or so before you know it, probably soon after the holiday season.

Hey, I don't mind if it's cheap! Then I do not have to worry about asking for one for birthday/Christmas, I can buy it myself! :D
I'm sorry, but I can finally afford my own gaming equipment, no more waiting a year for new games...

...clever of game companies in the pricing structure. Too bad it didn't work for everyone...look at SEGA...

Nope, no Evil Dead on Gamecube.

Man, I loved the movies, but Bruce Campbell really let me down on the game.

The Mad Hatter

But.... Resident Evil is now a Gamecube exclusive! And the first Resident Evil will be completely re-vamped to make it much more atmospheric and frightening. The movie I saw looked incredible!

Dude, the other Playstation 1 Resident Evil games scared me enough! And yet they're going to develop EVEN MORE on what the older games did!? What more are they going to do!? Physically have the zombies chase me!?

When I get a Gamecube, I'm gonna have to lock it up someplace when I'm not using it so the Resident Evil monsters won't get me....

The Mad Hatter

Man, I wish I could give you all a link to the movie I saw, but it's at IGN's pay section. (grumble)

Anyway, here's what they did... all of the character models are completely new, and the in-game footage looks almost exactly like CGI. Then, the backgrounds have been redone... much, much more detail has been added to everything. Finally: the lights are out. You'll be wandering around in a darkened mansion, with only the occasional lightning flash for illumination. Not to mention tons and tons of shadows.... MOVING shadows. Imagine the shadows cast by a tree whose branches are being rustled by the wind in the light of a full moon... they're in there. I couldn't believe this was running on a console.
