Over the years, Cartoon Network has had a variety of memorable commercials. Most were funny and deserve a hearty laugh, but some of them stick out in memory more than the others.

I remember a commercial CN had a couple years ago with the Powerpuff Girls saving Wonder Woman and Aquaman from the Legion of Doom.

Lex Luthor & company have Wonder Woman and Aquaman tied up suspended in the air. Aquaman says something about his powers not being any use there (Duh!) and Wonder Woman rolls her eyes.
Then the Powderpuff Girls zoom in to save them. ("That's Powerpuff!")
They kick the bad guys' butts then untie Wonder Woman and Aquaman.
So Wonder Woman commends the Girls by telling them how well their powers are developing. Then Bubbles says innocently to Wonder Woman, "Maybe one day we'll be as developed as you." >_> <_< :D

So does anyone else have any memorable Cartoon Network commercial?

So does anyone else have any memorable Cartoon Network commercial? That has to be one of my favorites as well. Really a gutsy promo.

The Toonami - CCF parody is funny, too!

The current Justice League promo is great - a more mature style I'd like to see more of.

The Jonny Bravo one about "Cartoon Violence" is funny.
"People everywhere are speaking out against cartoon violence."
Then, about 50 clips of Jonny being slapped, kicked, punched, thrown, and beaten up...

"Hero Worship", the Justice League - comic book one is really cool and unique, as well.

The Batman: TAS promos used when it was airing Sunday nights were kinda neat, so where the bumpers.

My favorite *commercial*?

Probably the Scooby Movies ad with Daphne that parodied "Scream". That or the general CN promo for DBZ when it aired in a 12:30 slot outside of Toonami for a few months. (That one had a neat original rap - "The Time has come".)

My favorite interstitial is most likely Challenge of the Superfriends: Whiners can be Losers. "I just want some pants... a DECENT PAIR OF PANNNNNNNTS!!!!!"

All of those ones are great, so I'll just mention one of my favorites that wasn't mentioned yet. It was when everyone was calling in sick to the CN workers (Even though they were just faking it). The CN workers are then force to run a Quicky Koala marathon, which makes the kid watching it moan in disgust. To bad they don't air that one anymore.

I like the one where all the CCs are acting like there hip & it makes Scrappy mad. Who here can name all the guys in it? I hope they make one where they show what happen to ML&O & it shows that Sheep is better & those 3 are mad cause CTN dose'nt like them anymore. Who here can think of how it should go?
Do the concerts count?

The 'Race For The Parking Space', 'Yogi Forgets His ID', 'Townsvillians Anger Management Session' and 'Sheep In The Big Cafeteria' promos were funny, too. I wish Cartoon Network would release a collection on video.

Among my favorite CN bits include the following:

PPG vs. the Legion of Doom (definitely a classic)
Aquaman's butt-dance (Adult Swim really needs to bring that back)
The "I Like Ike" parody featuring Brak

If we get to include music interstitials, then "My Best Friend Plank", "Courage the Cowardly Dog" (by They Might Be Giants), and "I'm a Super Girl!" by Shonen Knife are all great, as well.

Nin-nin69, incredible memory! I'd forgotten about many of those great promos!

I wish Cartoon Network would release a collection on video

I second that! Maybe if we ever get season sets of Samurai Jack or the Powerpuff Girls or Justice League on DVD (crosses fingers) then they could put all of them on as an extra.

Currently the Adult Swim promo. Dig that, "If we're gonna run amok, there's not time like the present!"

PPG/Superfriends Commercial
Scrappy Doo ranting about the Cartoon Cartoons (I kind of think this foreshadows Scrappy becoming the villain in the live-action Scooby Doo movie. I especially like the part where Shaggy is about to walk in the door, but he then sees Scrappy and slowly backs away)
That one cartoonnetwork.com commercial with that kid dressed up as the cursor running around to the costumed characters (The costumed Goku and Vegeta were hilarious. XD)
Born and Raised in Townsville

The only ones I can think of that haven't already been mentioned involve Looney Tunes. One is where all the "bad" (Elmer, Sylvester, Taz etc.) characters are in a room talking about thier "problems" during some group therapy session. Bugs, Daffy, and Tweety all come in looking for a buffet. I love Daffy's expression when he realizes they're in the wrong room. lol

And then there's that one with Wiley Coyote trying to identify the Road Runner in a lineup of suspects at a police station.

Cop: You know he's just gonna do this to you again.

Wiley: *sighs heavily and walks out of the room*

Cop: *turns to his partner* Sometimes I hate this job.

I'm probably alone in this, but I thought nearly every one of the Powerpuff Girls movie promos were great. They were often strange and indirect - but they were unique and cool, none-the-less.

There were two that I found to be particuarly hilarious. Here is something I posted, like, eons ago describing them.

Originally Posted by Auggie Doggie on February 18, 2002-

In one ad, Birdman: Coffee Break, the guy who gives the missions on Birdman finds Avenger on the control panel. He warns Birdman that his claws are next to the dangerous "Doomsday" button. Birdman, however, begs to differ, thinking Avenger is loyal and obedient, and asks him to press the coffee button, which is next to the Doomsday button. The mission guy looks on in fear as Avenger trys to press the button, thinking he will press the Doomsday button. Then, Avenger presses the button and coffee comes up. Birdman is like "what have I told you?" That is, until Avenger presses the Doomsday button. Is Avenger evil after all, or was that just a mistake from Birdman's carelessness? Why is there even a Doomsday button?

In this other ad, Challenge of the Superfriends: Whiners can be Losers, the Legon of Doom has a meeting like in the first CotS cartoon, but, however, the members interupt Lex Luthor and aks for some items to help them stop the Superfriends. Lex is surprised and annoyed that they need something more. He even points out that Cheeta has razor sharp claws, Brainiac has deadly mind games and Scarecrow is, uh, made out of straw. "What more could you need?" Bizzaro and Soloman Grunde ask for utility belts like Batman and Robin, claiming they will "crush" the Superfriends with utility belts. Cheeta asks for a magic lasoo, like Wonder Woman. Manta Ray asks for a Sea Horse. Toyman "demands more toys." Lex tells them to stop. "What do I look like, Santa Claus? You're wasting valueable time!" He was about to proceed with the meeting, when Brainiac interupted. "Look, all I want is pants. A decent pair of pants!" They all agree about wanting pants, leaving Lex annoied and sickened.

I really should get a transcription.

Oh, just thought of one...

It starts as a car commercial, describing in detail all the features of the Mystery Machine-- for some reason, Scooby is driving (!). We see various shots of the van as the announcer intones, "roomy interior, seating for five... WHAT THE--?!" At that moment, Speed Racer's theme starts up, and he zooms alongside the van. The two vehicles get into a very close race, and eventually, Speed Racer runs the Mystery Machine off the track... big explosion. After a short message ("SPEED RACER... only on Cartoon Network!"), Speed reappears amid the wreckage of the Mystery Machine, with dazed (but living) Mysteries, Inc. members to deliver a cautionary message-- "Dogs should not drive!"

It's probably by far the funniest thing they've ever done.

That was great, too! Just reminded me of the other one like this, on the airplane. (This looks like a job for a paper-back book!!) I actually saw the Superfriends at the movies one quite recently during Zoids: CC in the morning (before Transfomers took its spot), which surprised me - I thought they had abandoned these...

While no longer on the air, because the show is no longer on the air, the Bugs and Daffy commercial that tried to say it was cultural/educational was amusing.

favorite commercials:

- the cowboy bebop ones that use the music from the show
- the "gamblers, thieves, heros, and demons" promo (eh, i liked the old one better, the one without trigun)
- the medium-length kenshin promo (this one just makes me want to watch)

of course all the non-anime promos are excellent as well, but these just stood out for me.

oh, i also liked that one promo/song thing where the rabid fans outside o the CN building chase the cartoon cartoon characters.

cartoon network definitely makes the best eyecatchers, insertials, promos, commercials, etc, of any network i've seen. comedy central is getting better though, but CN is still superior.

Ohhhhhh, mannnn! (as Johnny Bravo would say) So many to choose from!

In no particular order:

Sidekicks: Perhaps the greatest example of how surreal these things can be, with Robin (voiced by Casey Kasem) interacting with Boo Boo, Barney Rubble, Morocco Mole, and Chicken.

Shaggy (Casey again) and Droopy discussing CN's global reach.

The carpool spot, which was another surreal meeting. Chicken's in the midst again, this time with Thundarr and Fred Flintstone. Fred races the Mach-5 only to lose the spot to Judy Jetson! What? This ruled!!

Johnny Bravo talks about his crush on Velma, with Fred as a bartender. What? Melody appears briefly, which I find curious considering that other than the cartoons they produced in the 70s, CN/HB doesn't have a license for Josie & the Pussycats anymore.

Wonder Twins "editorial". If this didn't give away the Donny & Marie influence on the characters, I don't know what would!

Superheroes at the movies: Zan & Wonder Woman are joined by non-SFers, including Birdman. Shannon Farnon is back as WW. Kewl!

Now if they could put Jayna on a date with Johnny Bravo........!

Got a new one for ya. Remember that "Signal In The Sky" PPG thing they did a couple years back? That rocked. Nice visuals and a catchy tune to go with it. I even got it on Kazaa (http:/www.kazaa,com)

Other than that... nothing that's already been said.

I liked one that was on maybe a couple of years ago. It included saying some characters' names quickly with pictures of the characters, and there was a part where they showed a few characters that had the same or similar names. It ended with "Screwy, ain't it?"
