Since I now just post the whole list over on CN's board, i still figured it'd be nice to discuss because this was quite a breakthrough month for Adult Swim while many of the other shows were in a bit of a slump.
Here's what came out on top:
FUTURAMA -
#9 - "Mother's Day" - 1.9/4*
#12 - "Bender Gets Made" - 1.8/3
#21 - "Put Your Head on my Shoulder" - 1.8/3
#27 - "War is the H-Word" - 1.7/3
#30 - "Anthology of Interest I" - 1.7/3
#31 - "The Problem With Popplers" - 1.7/3
#40 - "A Bicyclops Built For Two" - 1.7/3

#114 - "The Deep South" - 1.5/3
#118 - "Raging Bender" - 1.5/3
#123 - "The Lesser of Two Evils" - 1.5/3

I guess people like The Oblongs ^_^. And this is the first time Home Movies has made the list since February 2002.

Good ratings, but I wish it was the better shows up there rather than less than quality shows( in my oppinion of course, obviously they're popular with some people)

Better shows? You've got Futurama and Home Movies up there. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Wow, a 1.9, Futurama's really attracting the viewers. Maybe in March it'll have higher ratings than the new ones on Fox.

Futurama far surpassed DBZ in the ratings. Futurama made the top 10, DBZ didn't even make the top 100.

Forgive me if this sounds dumb, but...SWEET!
The Futurama bet definetely paid off.
And Home Movies making the list is awesome. Don't know why it was "Therapy", though...(don't care, either)
And Oblongs is there. Maybe not the most popular show on these boards, but any AS show making the list is good...yep...

Im saying throughout the history DBZ has aired, not this month

Great to see Futurama paying off. And why shouldn't it?

As do I. Sadly they aren't going all out with the advertisements like with Futurama.

And this is the first time Home Movies has made the list since February 2002. Just out of curiousity, which episode made the list back in Feb 2002?

I don't really care for Futurama and Home Movies teen oriented humor(yes, there is nothing in there that seems overly adult to me). I'd prefer if it was Bebop or other adult shows up there.

Maybe some people are out of touch with teens these days, but most every joke on there is something that seems to be targeted towards ttens. It's not as all adult as some people claim it is, in my opinion. Of course, other people seem to think differently, so whatever.

For future reference: When talking about something make sure you know what the hell you are talking about.
Home Movies isn't teen humor.

Check the old schedules, I bet The Oblongs and Home Movies on the list were merely the follow-up episodes of the higher rated Futurama's.

By "other adult shows" you really mean "anime", right?

Hmm...checking that out:
Therapy was on 2-17, right after "Mother's Day" (the highest rated Futurama). but the Oblongs actually make the list often, so that doesn't apply as much there (and Misfit Love came on after the relatively low rated "Raging Bender"). well, if Futurama can help bring in ratings for HM, thats always good.
Oh, and Home Movies isn't teen humor. ...duh.

You should probably be in the demographic they are targeting before complaining that they are doing a poor job at it.

I just find it funny becaues Home Movies is about adults talking like adults, and having adult conversations, with a dash of humorous fantasy mixed in.
It's the very definition of 'adult humor', because it's adults being genuinely funny with other adults.

Wasn't the last Fox episode of Futurama new? I think the Post today said it got about a 4.4. So a rerun on cable drew almost half the audience of a first-run broadcast episode... maybe proof this kind of show is better suited to the niche audience AS can deliver.
If only CN had the budget to support making new episodes...

I wouldn't call that proof. Due to Fox's lack of promotion/ constant preemption of the show, there were probably quite a few people who would have watched the most recent episode had they even known it was on. Futurama's failure can be attributed solely to the Fox network, plain and simple.

Well, lets look at what would attract a teen then, shall we? Lets see...
-Sight Gags
How many sight gags does Home Movies have? Very few. Outside of the occasional over the top one (like the end of Bad Influences) all the humor comes from the dialogue.
-Profanity, Violence, etc...
The only example of this you'll find is occasionally from coach McGurk. And its not funny because of any profanity itself, but because it shows just how messed up this particular character is.
-Action
Home Movies has none of that...
-Situational Humor
Again, how much situational humor does Home Movies have? Not much. Its humor is derived from the dialogue.
I can tell you what makes Home Movies attractive to adults like myself. A lot of the enjoyment comes out of the constant psychological studies of the character. We're constantly getting to peer into a character like Coach McGurk's psyche. McGurk looking for a house itself isn't funny. McGurk trying to impress women on a date itself isn't funny. Whats enjoyable to someone like me is delving deep into his personality. Knowing that he actually believes in some of the totally off the wall stuff he says, like how Melissa being in a cast will make her an even better soccer player. Thats what these situations develop. Its probably going over your head since you're a 15 year old who is not what the show is targetting, but atleast I enjoy that aspect about it. I could care less that the animation sucks or that in the end, the plotlines of each episode doesn't go that far. Thats not what the show is about.
Tell me, how many teens even know who Franz Kafka is? None? Exactly. I'll end on that note.

Well, to be fair, I'm 16 years old (and do enjoy Home Movies humor). But what Sheamon said is (for the most part) true...out of the kids at my school, most of them probably would completely hate the show. The only things that I would consider teen humor would be something like Sick Eddie from "Dad" or Mr. Freckles from "Business & Pleasure"
And to further show Sheamon's point, i didn't know who Franz Kafka was the first time i saw the episode :o (I've found out since...)

I'm 18, and I've liked Home Movies since it premiered on CN. HM's humor, as stated before, is driven mainly by the dialouge. I've tried to get a few other teens into the show, and they all seem to have the same opinion: it's "slow-moving" and "boring." Even my parents (who are most definitely not teenagers) think the show's boring.
But I *did* know who Franz Kafka was the first time I saw "Director's Cut." I read "Metamorphosis" in junior high. :p

You give teens too little credit. I've known who Franz Kafka was since I was 15 and read Metamorphosis and The Country Doctor before I was 16. Most of my friends knew who he was at that age also.
But otherwise, the show is aimed towards adults, though I don't think teenagers would have nearly as difficult time understanding it as you would like to believe.
