E-Bay has pulled all action items that have to do with the WTC meaning you can't buy a NYC postcard through them.

Sega has delayed Propeller Arena becouse of this and all you DC owners knows that DC is on its last legs and if Sega hold off on it too long it may never come out.

Spiderman 2 will have the WTC taken out of them plus Red Alert 2 which has been on the shelf for for about a year has been pulled and replaced with a edited version with Washington and NYC taken out.

Duke Nukem:Manhattan Project will have the WTC level taken out.

Rogue Spear:Black Thorn will be delayed becouse of this and that is a game where you get to kick terrorist ass. But at there are rumors that when it is released they might include missions that relate to the WTC and Washington attack.

There is Rumors that Fur Figters be pulled to take out the towers in New Quack City. Lucky I already have the game.

Looks at all this plus the movies and trailers being effected it is pure madness.

I understand why they're doing things like these, but at the same time it seems like they want us to forget that the WTC's ever existed. While keeping it out of mind might be good in the short run, I'm not sure how good this would be in the long run. As painful as it might be, we don't want to forget what happened. When a person close to you dies you dont get rid of all of their pictures, which is basically what's being done. I've never been a fan of New York, being a native of Philly and all, but even I would say the WTC's made the NY skyline beautiful. We should remember them for their glory.

I agree that by doing al of this, it's like whipping away any memory of the WTC. And since rumors are spreading that they won't rebuild WTC, I stil find it abit annoying. Cutting out all of this seems a bit pointless. WTC is apart of our history. Why erase it?

History is the key word here. Should it really be in upcoming movies supposed to take place in the 'here and now'?

I honestly don't mind what's going on in the video game world relating to this. Delaying some games with themes that may remind people of the WTC is fine... we'll get to see them in a month or two after our collective psyches have had time to heal. By the way, where did you hear that Red Alert 2 was going to have levels taken out? All I heard was that the box, which shows the WTC with planes crashed into it, will be replaced. Or maybe I'm confused with a different game. Anyway. And as far as taking the WTC out of the games... Rockitshipper makes an excellent point, the games are supposed to be set "now." Now... we don't have the WTC around anymore. I would object to removing them from existing games and movies, though I don't think that's happening yet... I doubt the Fur Fighters rumor, it's been out for over a year and it didn't even sell well enough to warrant tinkering with it now.

Things will be back to normal (in a sense) soon enough, and we'll get to see all the media that was delayed. No worries.

Oh, and check this article out. It's a look at people's attitudes of the WTC before and after the crash... and before the crash, many critics in New York didn't like it. But now, everyone's honest reaction is that the New York skyline looks blighted without it.

Okay, I found an AP story about video game delays, and found this on Red Alert 2:

In addition to shutting down its online game "Majestic" for a week as a result of the terrorist attack, Electronic Arts is offering retailers a revised package for its "Command & Conquer Red Alert 2" PC strategy game, which shipped in October. The current box art contains scenes of well-known American monuments in the midst of a future war with the Soviet Union. Retailers who send back the current boxed games will receive the new packaging, which will be available in two weeks.

" 'Yuri's Revenge,' a companion to 'Command & Conquer Red Alert 2,' was scheduled for release next week; however, similar issues with the packaging graphics have led us to hold this product until we can create new boxes," an Electronic Arts official said. " 'Yuri's Revenge' will be slightly delayed, but it should be on store shelves within the next two weeks."

Same game, new boxes. Nothing deleted.

I searched IGN and Gamespot for news on Fur Fighters, but didn't find anything. Even though this was a minor and critically luke-warm game, altering the contents of a year-old game would have raised a bunch of eyebrows. So I'm 99% certain that this is just a rumor as well.

There have been many, many rumors cropping up in the wake of the attacks... sometimes it's tough to keep a level head.

But I want to remeber the NYC skyline as it was before thus why take the towers out they are a part of the skyline and hopefully will be again.

What worries me is: what's gonna happen to Metal Gear Solid 2? If they tone it down because of this, I'm not going to be happy.

Metal Gear Solid 2 isn't being delayed. Here's what IGN had to say:

According to the release, the game is still on track to ship in the states in November, albeit with very minor modifications to certain scenes which featured the World Trade Center.

"Because the main theme of this game is the pursuit of peace, the scenario will remain essentially as it is," said Konami's representatives.

So there you go. I'm not too worried... the changes are being done by the game designers themselves, so these changes (and others in other video games) are hardly censorship.

Whew! Good to hear! I knew the changes were being made by the creators, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they'd be any good (BB:ROTJ anyone?). ;)
