Next week's TV guide has 2 mentions of AS. (Comcast Edition) First it has a small article about Harvey Birdman in the "INSIDER" area near the beginning. And also they give a bunch of shows that are good to watch if your X (X, Being Depressed, Anxious, Lonely, Whatnot) AS is in the late night recommendation for Anxious people. Word.

-DN out

I thought that was already out. It's the issue with Sponge Bob on the cover. I caught a promo bit on Headline News on Monday. The TV Guide guy did did give AS a short plug, but it was in response to the reporter asking "What's Adult Swim?"

I forget which category AS was in though. I think it was the "if you're depressed" category.

It was under Anxious at the top (and it had a picture of Brak)

i've said this in another thread, but i'll say it again: why does Birdman get so much media attention? every article on AS always gives so much space to Birdman, who has all of 6 episodes, while shows like ATHF or Sealab get a small mention. i still don't get it, i mean i like Birdman and all, but how many times do we have to hear about the Dabba Don episode?

i know new episodes are coming, but not for like 7 more weeks

Because more than any of the other shows adults unfamiliar with AS can identify with Birdman since he uses and makes fun of popular characters from their childhood. Dabba Don in particular because of the immense recognizability of The Flinstones, despite the fact that IMHO it's the least humorous episode.

Yeah, it's true: Even though they're just now starting to cover more adult cartoons, they still find way to pander to the old audience who are use to cartoons being for kids. In other words: the only reason TV Guide brags about Birdman is because it pokes fun at old school Hanna Barbara cartoons.

Now wouldn't it be something if they had an inside joke to us true fans about, for instance, Grizzlebees? :p

Except that for that to happen, the person writing the article would have to actually WATCH Adult Swim instead of leafing through a bunch of old Cartoon Network press releases in desperate search of filler. (-:
