It's not Viz's fault about the new IY eps. They have them translated now, and for some reason Cartoon Network's choosing not to show them.

If they're going to make us wait like this, then they could at least release the DVD's faster.

It's not Viz's fault about the new IY eps. They have them translated now, and for some reason Cartoon Network's choosing not to show them.Probably cause they want to hold onto them and show them at rerun season. Right now with Trigun and Family Guy joining the lineup it doesn't make sense for them to air new Inu-Yasha episodes as well. It makes sense that they would want to hold onto them and start showing new IY episodes when Family Guy and Trigun hit repeats.

Where did Viz say they finished them? The only reason the episodes were delayed in the first place were because they weren't finished.

That really does sound sweet. Not only the much delayed HM episode, but also ATHF and Sealab? Nice... As for IY, don't watch it, so maybe the lack of new episodes will allow me to start watching with the reruns :meatwad:

Technically, as long as we're talking about the dub holding it up, it would be Ocean thats making us wait so long, not Viz. Remember, Ocean has multiple projects going on at once, including Zeta Gundam and perhaps F91 Gundam as well. Even though they'd be done by different studios (IY by regular Ocean Studios and Z Gundam by Westwood) they're still using the same pool of actors. With Richard Cox having to return for his role as Kai, and with the high odds that Monica Stori(Kagome), Paul Dobson(Naraku), David Kaye(Sesshomaru), Kelly Sheridan(Sango) and other characters with major roles in IY will also be cast in recurring roles in Z Gundam, I wouldn't be surprised at all if their busy schedules were holding up the release of new IY episodes.

And frankly, if it gets the Z Gundam dub out sooner I don't mind waiting longer for new Inu Yasha one bit :p

No new Inuyasha in May? OK, now I'm thouroughly PO'd!

*sits stairing at computer screen with a mixture of disbelief and anger, pondering retaliation of some sort*

And if they really do have them translated and are waiting with new eps, that's just harsh. I think I, check that, we have been patient, with CN taking IY off for a month, then sitting through the second run while waiting for new eps. And to top it off, they are being slow in releasing the DVDs, one can only take so much....

So Baby Blues gets to come back for all of about six weeks before getting replaced by The Ripping Friends, which has been on for a while now? I mean, I thought Baby Blues was average at best, but it's certainly better than The Ripping Friends.

At least we finally get the last Season 3 Home Movies...

You know...I liked yesterday's fake schedule a whole lot more.

Damn programming department. It's not rocket science fitting all four 15-minute shows on Sunday.

I personally preferred Matt Wilson's schedule.

But new Williams Street shows! But where's new Brak Shows?

It's not Viz's fault about the new IY eps. They have them translated now, and for some reason Cartoon Network's choosing not to show them.

I'm also thinking that it probbly has to be delatyed, because maybe one or 2 volumes are missing and they need to put on hold on the new episodes untill they get them, and I think it is making alot od us angry.

great! Home Movies is kept on the schedule (so any new AS fans can discover the show), we finally get to see "Coffins and Cradles" *updates site*, some new ATHF as well as Sealab (hopefully it will be funnier this season), SGC2C regains its rightful spot on ASC Sundays, and HB:AAL makes a long overdue return. im satisfied. :D

here's a thought, new DBZ episodes only get shown every fall (this year excluded). why would a big show like Inuyasha be getting them faster?

Inu Yasha began in August. If memory serves me correctly, DBZ began in 1995. I think we were able to get past episode 35 of DBZ, but if the excuse to this is "that was then, this is now" then I've got this for everyone: I don't consider Inu Yasha 'well known' yet. I can walk around and say "Dragonball Z!" and I'm sure that a group of strangers would know what I'm talking about. However, if I were to say "Inu Yasha!" I'm confident that no one would no what I was talking about.

The new schedule looks pretty sweet. I really don't have a problem with waiting for new Inuyashas (As long as the wait isn't as long as Yu Yu Hakusko for new episodes) since they'll probably air them after the next runaround of the previous episodes (which will only be another two months, which is pretty good timing for when the DVD's come out in July) and there is new stuff to look forward to. Harvey Birdman, Sealab, and ATHF (I'm assuming that when the 13 new Sealab air, they'll switch it with new Brak shows to prolong a new episode run), however I wonder why they waited this long to air new ATHF since there are suppose to be 26 new episodes instead of just 13. Well, if they air all of them straight through, that would mean that there would be new ATHF throughout the year (which would be sweet) but I'm doubtful that would happen.

i can't believe there are actually 26 new ATHF episodes. if they really have that many, they should put them on weeknights for sure

1:00 - The Oblongs

Oh for the love of... I was hoping Family Guy would put Oblongs out of its misery but I guess it's going to continue to take up space. And finally new WS shows! With the exception of the Oblongs, good schedule overall.

I'm seriously confused...March 25th was a Tuesday, not a Sunday, and HM wasn't on Sundays last AS Sunday. The schedule still has Family Guy on Sundays, where HM isn't, and you say that Family Guy is on Mondays...through Fridays?? Okay, I'll be patient and check a while later if things have been cleaned up, because I'm scratching my head intensely. The thing I'm happy about is that we won't have to wait until Season Four of HM to see "Coffins and Cradles", and HM isn't going on hiatus. I think with CN asking Brendon Small to make a fourth season, and then putting it off the lineup until it is ready wasn't a very good choice, and Brendon probably made sure of it...

I think that they are going to either air new episodes of Inu Yasha around the fall or sometime when it premired counting as a new season here in america seeing as how the episode ended on a cliffhanger.or they might switch it over to Toonami like with what they did with YYH. You never know with WS.

Besides even if they don't air new episodes untill the fall there are still plenty of good things coming down the water slide like Big O 2, Lupin 3, Z Gundam, Blue Gender(Coming Soon),F-91 Gundam, Ghost In A Shell, and Kikader(Might Come To AS)

04-02-2003, 08:52 PM
Maybe the reason for Inu-Yasha not haveing any new episodes is that Viz wants to wait till they release DVD's going past Episode 36, and at the rate they're going it will be a year or so before CN gets any new episodes of Inu-Yasha. :bosko: (bosko is my evil smiley)

Otherwise, this is fantastic.

Where did Viz say they finished them?
Have they said that they haven't? They were in the upper 30's as of last fall (or thereabouts), and I can't really see them taking 6+ months to dub 12 or so episodes...even with other projects to work on.

Also, might those Ripping Friends episodes be the second season? That hasn't aired yet, right? I mean, it's not like I care personally, I don't watch the series, but that could certainly explain it coming back in such a late timeslot.

EDIT: Looking at the full schedule posted on the board elsewhere, I see that they're starting from episode 1 of Ripping Friends. So let me rephrase my question -- is it possible that they'll be airing the second season after they finish with the first this time?

Killtacular

Spumco is not going to start on Ripping Friends until they're done with Ren and Stimpy. Since TNN Animation will flop, I assume that won't take long.

I believe only 13 Brak Show episodes were ordered this year. 26 episodes each of Sealab and ATHF were ordered though, which is why you're seeing new ones earlier.

Have you noticed that the williams street shows have always been great because they would only churn out a couple each year, and the episodes would always be fresh and new... there would be many great jokes compacted into episodes. but don't you think that after they make so many episodes, they could become stale and not as funny?

NO NEW INU YASHA'S?????? I WANT MY NEW INU YASHAS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Okay, whew. . . Just needed to get that off my chest! My apologies for the screaming; I hope that everyone's eardrums are okay! :p (Seriously, though, do you really think that we won't be getting any new IY until next fall? And when, oh when, will they put another new show on ASA? Trigun is fantastic, of course, and I'm really happy that they've got it on. But, I do have to admit that I have seen the series before, and I am just champing at the bit waiting for something I haven't seen yet to show up on ASA. ::sigh:: I miss this time last year, when everything on ASA was new, to me at least!)

That being said, the ASC stuff looks good: gotta be happy about new Sealab and new ATHF. . . and even some new Harvey Birdman, finally!
