I'll be catching it this Saturday at the Angelika Film Center in Manhattan. Its a decent-sized independent movie house, has a great atmosphere for real movie buffs. Even if seating isn't available, the movie is also being shown a few train stops away at the Loews E-Walk theater. Any fellow NY'ers checking this one out? The anime fan in me can't help be want to bump into a few Toon Zoners there. So, who's going? At any rate, I'll be putting in my 2 cents about the whole experience on Saturday.

Also, forgive me if this thread has been done to death a thousand times over.

Long Islander checking in!

Probably Friday or Saturday. I'm leaning towards Friday.

I'm looking to see it on Saturday. Buuuut, that depends on some of the other behind-the-scenes folks here and if they're able to make it. I went and saw it (and loved it) at BAAF last year, so this time would be more about the whole hanging out thing. Say hi if you see the 5' nuttin' chick w/ the glasses!

Ah, the Angelika, how I miss it. I haven't visited there for a long time; in fact, the last time was to see Princess Mononoke years ago with a Japanese collegiate friend (very helpful in elaborating on Japanese myths).

Unfortunately, I also have seen Cowboy Bebop on BAAF already (even gave away extra tickets to some unfortunate souls who got sold out) - very eery how circumstantial similarities with 9/11, especially then so close to the 1-yr anniversary. So I probably won't be going out of my way to catch this one.

I was hoping it was playing closer to me but looks like I might have to go there to see it. I hope I have enough time to shoot out there and see it this weekend.

I'll probably see it Sunday at the Loews E-Walk theater if my dad will drive me there.

Which theater is nicer? Angelika or E-Walk? I'll be going to one of them on Sunday.

Personally I dig the Angelika more. It has a really nice atmosphere, one where they genuienly appreciate all the people who come there. Its a great theater for movie lovers. That, and I prefer the SoHo area to Times Square.

Umm the Angelika's more yuppie-ish and laid back but the times square one is way nicer. I'm posting this as of Friday nite so I'm not going then. hehe maybe tomorrow or something. Say hi! I don't bite unless you ask. And as for what I look like, i'm short, skinny, and asian with longish hair lol. I look like an anime character!! Haha, not really. Urgh, too bad I don't live closer to NYC, or else I would see it! Too bad they aren't showing it closer to where I live. I really wanted to see it!

With it only showing in 2 theaters here, I'd guesstimate not long. The Angelika does have a tendency to let movies run a healthy amount of time in their theaters, so I figure your best chance would be there.
