Isn't going to happen. I listened to a fascinating message last night about "There is No Such Thing As Arab Unity" by Rev. Lee Stoneking (no relation) and he taught quite extensively on Genesis and the Saudi Arabians that are now seeking their own nation are all the descendents of Esau, which had a curse placed upon him that his descendents would all be nationless and be hated by the world. They are trying to get around that curse, but it hasn't happened for thousands of years and it will not happen now.

"North" Afghanistan - all 5% of it - is what's left of the Mujahadeen, the old US sponsered group that defeated the USSR lo these many years ago. Despite that and covert support from China, Iran, and even Russia, they've been on the decline since the war ended. Their most charismatic leader was assassinated by the Taleban last week and they appear to be on the verge of squabbling amongst themselves. These people are unlikely to play an important factor in the struggle ahead.

Apperently having a camera in South Afghanistan is a crime that is punishable by death and man from what they showed they are like totaly oppressed. Anyway North Afghanistan has a captured abandoned Soviet air base meaning North Afghanistan might be a better base of operation then Pakistan and suppling the North Afganistan army with supplies might go far towards defeating the Taleban

I suppose if N. Afghanistan has a base, they would immediantly be a lot more attractive as help. I also heard there are about 30,000 N. Afghans there.
I suppose they could be of help, but I'm still feeling pessimistic and think they may not be of much help...
....also, I couldn't belive it when I heard it's illegal to own a TV or that women are killed for trying to learn. I hope that Taliban falls down hard...

Well if they can fix up the base then aircraft can fly in from the north and land there. Plus these people can give information on Taliban troop movement plus since they know the terrain they probably could do hit and run if we supply them with weapons.

Oops....I knew North Afghanistan wasn't that strict, I had been referring to the Taliban. Forgot to mention that....
...Actually, with what you said, North Afghanistan probably will be a good ally. With that terrain knowledge being especially useful...we'll need all the help we can get in terrain matters.

Yup plus the airbase they have is full of old Soviet aircraft almost all in non working condition but hey if it becomes a base of operation those planes and helicopters could easly be restored and add more air power to the area.
