I was inspired to make this crazy poll by fellow member (and meatloaf eater) Calico, who said "...no one really likes meatloaf :p" Personally, I love it, except for the watery version my grandmother makes. Please don't tell her. ;)

I like meatloaf, but Mom never makes it since she doesn't like it.

How do the little piggies eat?

I love the stuff, and yes, it's best with ketchup. :)

Yes. Either with gravy and mashed potatoes for a full dinner or, and this is even better, on white bread with ketchup the next day as a sandwich.

Meatloaf rules!!!!! :D:D:D

Meatloaf plain and with ketchup is good with my stomach. :D

The greasy spoon in my neighborhood serves a heaping plate of meatloaf and mashed potatos. I get it just about everytime.

I like the stuff but strangely I only seem to have it when we're in the States.

My grandmother found a pin in a pre-packaged meatloaf when I was a kid - actually my grandad found it in his mouthful - so she sent said loaf plus pin and indignant letter to the manufacturer expecting some kind of compensation and instead got back about 24 boxes of the stuff. Since they'd both sworn to 'never touch that muck' again it was the mainstay of the village tombola at her 'golden oldies' club for years after

I can honestly say that I have never had meatloaf. So, I don't know if I like it

I'm with Jade on this one. Leftover sandwiches....oh yeah....

I'm a big fan of Meatloaf. In fact, I'm listening to the "Bat Out of Hell" LP as I write this. He truly is one of the more underrated performers on the 70's. Oh wait... you mean the food... :D

As for the food, it's decent. I've never had a true meatloaf, just that McCormick Bag and Season stuff, so I really can't say for sure.

I love meatloaf. It is the food of the gods. :p

It's best with ketchup though. And I haven't had it as good as mom used to make, although sometime I plan to experiment.

Meatloaf was good in Rocky Horror Picture Show and Fight Club.

I don't really care for meatloaf (I've never eaten any that I liked). So, uh, no. I don't like meatloaf. :)

I had to say no on this poll. On the rare occasions that I eat meat, it is not meatloaf.

LOL!

When I saw this thread, I thought, "Hey what a coincedence" ;)

Anyway, I like meatloaf, with ketchup and bread crumbs (I've never heard of making it without  ) and meatloaf sandwiches the next day with extra ketchup are the best!! :D

Does that answer your question?

lol, seems a rather odd question, but what they hey. I'm quite fond of meatloaf, my mom makes a great one. I love it with ketchup, and I don't think I'd eat it without it.

It's not really a British thing. It's okay. Ketchup makes it better. I don't think I've had it in years.. in fact, I don't think I've heard it's name in years... except.. yesterday. lol, it was mentioned on Family Guy. :)

What's meatloaf? I always hear people talk about it.

(Oh be quiet, I had a strictly Chinese diet before living in residence, and even now, I've never encountered it. At least, I don't *think* so..)

Meatloaf?? It's OK, but hardly a gourmet dish. I don't think I've had it since I was a kid.

It's a big hunk of ground beef in shape of a loaf of bread. Quite tasty. :p

I have not had meatloaf sadly it sounds like it would be good but I have yet to see it at a restaurant and my mom doesn't know how to make it or refuses to so I might like it

It can have bread in it, but that's basically for filler. ;) I don't think I've ever had it with bread, though I'm sure it's good, too. There are probably a lot of people that have only had it one way or the other.

I never ate meatloaf, so I don't know if I like it or not. The posts seem to imply that meatloaf is fried in bread crumbs. If this is the case, I probably won't like it because I hate fried and greasy foods.

I don't know how you got that impression... Meatloaf, traditionally, is a huge hunk of beef in the shape of a loaf of bread. It's made in the oven in the same pans as loaves of bread are, hence the shape and name. Bread crumbs are generally used as filler. There shouldn't be any frying involved. I'd say that if someone likes eating hamburgers, they'd more than likely enjoy a well prepared meatloaf.

I LOVE MEATLOAF!!! IT'S DA BOMB!!!

I apologize for that all-caps moment.

I feel sorry for those of you who haven't had meatloaf, it was a part of my growing up.

Onions, various other goodies, and a sauce(???) are mixed in with the ground beef as well.

Yeah, lots of sweet onion in it as well. That adds a lot to it.

Another awesome dish using beef is meatballs in cream of mushroom soup. Normally, I'm not a fan of mushrooms in general, but that is one of my all-time favorite dishes! :D We eat that with boiled potatoes sometimes and I mix them together. Oh man...*Homer-type drooling* :p

That Guitar Slayer girl kept trying to get me to listen to his albums for some reason. She thinks he rocks. I think his song makes no sense. We disagree all the time.

Yeah, kinda like when someone says "they're exactly alike, except for..."

P.S. Meatloaf's last name is Aday. That must be why he's so...large. :p

Hey, alextoon! Did you do a search for the artist known as Meatloaf or what? The last post was made six months ago! :p (must say I'm honored that you chose to resurrect a thread I started, though. Haha. ;))
