Or, more generally, do you like Social Studies? I've always loved studying all the aspects of Social Studies -- yes, in my free time! -- like maps, flags, history, constitutions and charters, etc. Why are there so few people who like these things? Does anyone at Toon Zone besides me find Social Studies facsinating?

If you do...

What kind of maps do you like? My favorite map company, without a doubt, is National Geographic. Their maps are superb, masterpieces of both art and cartography!

Do you go to to any flag database websites? I enjoy the World Flag Database myself:

http://www.flags.net/

And my personal favorite in the field of Social Studies is the complete and comprehensive CIA World Factbook:

http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html

Also, I enjoy visiting the OFFICIAL website of the US Government. It has links to all 50 States' official websites, all Federal Agencies, and even links to the OFFICIAL websites of every other nation on the Earth!

Finally, I enjoy visiting the OFFICIAL website of the UN. Though I think the UN needs MAJOR reforms, I still like the UN Charter, and the ideas the UN was founded under:

Defintely. I always have, ever since I was little. When I was in first or second grade, I used to have this big(and I mean BIG... it was two or three feet tall) book with stuff on the different continents and countries in them, and I've continued to enjoy stuff like that ever since.

The CIA World Factbook is great. I liked the layout for the 2001 version's site better, though.

I won the national Geographic bee in my school.
I won the school bee five times, won the state bee in 1997, and was 4th in the nation that year.

We never had any geography bees in my elementary school, but I've always been a fan of maps, flags, geography, countries of the world, and all that.

*MAKES SEVEN CHECK MARKS* OK, so that's seven countries of the world I've been to, and have about 150 more. Man, it would be so much easier to keep track if Yugoslavia and Russia didn't keep breaking up every couple years.

I have gone through phases of finding that stuff interesting. I used to be more familiar with some of it than I am now.

Yup! In what little spare time I have, I occasionally look through an atlas or almanac. My parents think I'm nuts. :D

Wow, I thought it was just me that was weird. :p

As a kid I was into maps of far-off places, and I had a subscription to National Geographic. Didn't do the Geography Bee (I was homeschooled until the 8th grade). Today I collect maps of the places I've been (mostly road maps, but I got a USGS Topo map of Devil's Tower NM).
