Does anybody here know where I can find a good host for a webpage?
I have a webpage that's about 11 mb, its mostly just a personal webpage for me and my friends. A place to put up our artwork and rants(majority of which are anime related). I designed it for me and my friends, and that way we can all see what we're up to.
Unfortunately I need a host. I prefer something for free, and something with enough space that the page can have some growing room. I don't mind having to pay for webspace if I have to, but even then, I'm not sure who could host it.
Does anyone know of any hosts that could help me out?

You could try www.GeoCities.com. They don't hassle you like Tripod, and it's 100% free! You get 15 MB, HTML editors if you want them, and all the help you can need. The only thing people don't like about GeoCities, is that on each page there exists an advertisement, but you can easily close it (what do you want for free?). Paying for sites is usually what you want to do if it's commercial or bigger than 15 MB. You'll need a yahoo.com email account in order to get a free web page, and you log in to your web site the same as you would your email account--same password and everything.
For an example of such a site, go to
http://www.geocities.com/co_op_project/
Hope that helps you!

The Super Dimensional Fortress (http://sdf.lonestar.org/index.cgi?donate) will give you 20 megs for one dollar, with all the trimmings. (PHP, CGI, etc.) (No ads)
For $35, they will give you 100 megabytes, and a lot more cool stuff! They have other sweet things for CHEAP prices, too.
Unfortunately, it's all UNIX-based, so we're talking "Telnet city." It might be a little difficult if you're just starting out, but it's worth a try if you wanna go the uber-geeky way.
I'd reccomend against Geocities. They don't have a lot of features, and there's that pesky ad issue. The editors they have are flashy, but the templates they work with look weird when viewed at resolutions over 800x600.
About the best site I've found for finding free hosts is www.clickherefree.com. You can customize what features you're looking for, and they've pretty much got an exhaustive list. If they don't have it, it's probably not worth going to.
Hope that helps!

If they are again accepting new users - Worldzone.net is good. Ads are imbeded at the bottom of the page. Easy and accessible. I hate geocities myself, not a bandwidth friendly enviroment either. If you can, stay clear from Geocities, Angelfire and Tripod. You may have to suffer some banners, but there are some reasonable deals out there.

Free hosting sites are not usually good, but there are exceptions. Just do not pay for one with annoying advertisements or realistic space problems.

You can also try Freewebs. (http://www.freewebs.com) They start you out with 40 megs of space (you can request more, though I haven't tried that yet), and there's no banner or pop-up ads. I just started using the service myself, so I'm not entirely familiar with it yet...but so far it seems pretty reliable.
Hope this helps. :)
