When this day comes around, it becomes evident that I hardly have anything green to wear. I have a green T-shirt, but it's about 3 sizes too big. I have a green long sleeve, hooded shirt, but I'd burn up in this nice weather we're having. I have a pair of green jeans too, but who wears green jeans? Who am I kidding anyway? Finding clothing is no where near as hard as convincing people that I, an African American, have Irish in my blood. Happy St. Patty's, everybody!

But, to cmpensate, I am wearing as much shamrocl jewelry as I can, mainly a pin and my silver ring that has a clover right on it.

Hell, Im not Puerto Rican but Im always invited to go to the Puerto Rican day parade and to the festivities with my friends from college and their families (and trust me its fun).

I think the younger generation just doesnt care whether or not you are whatever nationality, ethnicity, etc... As long as a) you understand and respect them and their history/culture and b) youre willing to celebrate with them. These types of days are more about celebrating a culture and history more than the significance of the holiday. Its one of the better things about our culture...

And... I dont think you need to be the nationality in order to celebrate :D

I was going to wear one of my DBZ shirts in celebration of new episodes but I couldn't since it had green on it. (Plus I didn't want to be pinched:o) So, I ended up wearing my JL shirt with Green Lantern on it. And now to drink a nice healthy glass of original green Mountain Dew. (Mountain Dew is healthy right?)

Oh, and happy St. Patty's Day everybody!

My dad wouldn't let my mom or I out of the house without something green on. ^^;;;; Next year's gonna be even more fun, 'cause I'll be in Savannah, Ga, where St. Patty's Day is to the populace what Mardi Gras is to the people of New Orleans. Hah, it's been police sirens all evening. I think the drinkers are out and celebrating big. I wanted to be out tonight too, but I have an assignment which may/maynot need to be in tomorrow and as such I have to get busy!

Think of it this way, on St. Patty's day everyone is considered Irish even if you're not, that way you don't feel as bad when you drink till you puke :D . You can also apply the same reasoning to Cinco de Mayo except I don't think people would wear "Kiss Me, I'm Mexican" buttons :p

And for your drinks of choice:
St. Patty's: Green beer(duh!), Guiness, or Killians
Cinco de Mayo: Tequilla, tequilla, tequilla(maybe some Corona too) :moon2:

Man, you'd think everyone's Irish, but they aren't! Man, are they missing out... :D

I was one of the few people wearing green today that I saw. It's like I crossed over to Earth 2; when I don't wear green, everyone else is, but when I remember... Ultraman and Power Ring are flying above my head. (shameless reference, yah)

Um, yeah I don't have any Irish blood, but green is my favorite color so yay ^_^. Mint chocolate chip ice cream...it's green (the good kind is anyways dammit)...so yay, and other stuff is green too...like trees and stuff so yay! Everyone thought I forgot to wear some green today...but my boxers were green, so ha! musahahhahahah! Too much info? Well then you're no fun :p!
