I don't have that much clothes, my hair is messy, and my beard is messy. Its not out of rebellion, or me trying to join the 'class' fight. I just don't care and I'm too damn lazy.

However, for some reason women seem to be aggresive towards me. The evil eye, even sneering and most seem to be uncomfortable when I'm on the bus. This is obviously not all women but it seems to be the most for me.

Recently, I cleaned up for an interview. No hostility towards me.

It seems I'm considered a pervert when I'm not wearing good clothes.

Are messy people perverts?

I'm not whining, I have never really given a damn about what people think, I am just wondering about this custom in society.

I don't know more girls have been coming onto me since I grew a goatee (some gross old woman tried to seduce me the other day...but let's not go into detail >_<) ....most girls like neat guys I guess...I don't know since I'm not a girl...I wish I knew though so I'd know which one to appear as...scruffy or neat  ...lol...

but if you're talking messy as in dirty type messy...nah they don't like that of course... like I always do my hair and that kind of thing no matter how "scruffy" I plan to look....but sometimes I'll just wear a t-shirt, some jeans and not shave (like I did today). Not sure which one chicks find sexier. :p

I dunno. I stopped shaving like 2 months ago, and the only woman that gives me crap for it is my mom.

I'm... bearded in an over stubble sort of way after a weekend on AIM lol. Monday is always shave day... occasionally Tuesday.

I just am as I am. At the moment may main concern is art work and that drives me more than social. If I go out on the town I'll put on decent clothes and do myself up, but I'm scruffy as the proverbial nerfherder on some days. Just scruffy in the sense of T-Shirt, jacket and trainers. Not scruffy as in crappy clothers messy hair etc - and I'm always clean.. :) Not messy scruffy, but not at my perfect best. Han Solo scruffy! :D I like the best of both looks... I think I can pull both off and look cool.. :)

Note to self: NEED to do some ironing.. :D

I'm sloppy-looking, and the only kinds of women who tend to consistently take interest in me are middle-aged women.

Its not about girls being interested in me (I don't care I'm celibate), but it seems they get uncomfortable, like really uncomfortable when I'm in the vicinity when I look messy.

Neatness is overrated. :D Seriously though, being clean and keeping your appearance the best you can might make other people think better of you. If you do not care what others think and do not care what you look like, there is no reason to be neat.

Eh... During the week I dont shave so my beard grows out of control... I only shave it on Fridays, normally, or have an event to go to... Where I have to be presentable :p

As far as clothes, I try to take care of mine as best I can... I just started to by some again...

I think people are just more comfortable and apt to talk with someone with clean hair and clothes then someone with mussy hair and wrinkly clothes. Not that there's any difference in the person, but apperances do make a difference. I know some people with hair that seems just normally to look like it's messy and perhaps dirty, but really isn't. At first that bugged me, now it doesn't. As far as interviews, how you look is always going to make a huge impact on the interviewer.
