From the promos I've seen of it on various anime tapes, it would be a good show to use for AS, but they would have to probably edit some of the more "Mature" (as in, TV-MA bits) out, but I could see it as a possible choice. After they sort through all the shows they have on hold, which could take a while.

Gunsmith would be quite ok on AS, considering some of the material Reign has been allowed.

Only one problem: it's an ADV property.

If GRW goes well, perhaps CN-ADV relations wouldn't be so out of the question anymore.

Having seen it, it would be great on Adult Swim, except for one thing, its only a 3 part OAV series (with each ep at about 30 minutes). As far as editing, I suspect that only minor edits would be needed if at all. I may just dust off the old VHS tapes and see it again for better reference.

Why it could happen:
Great Series
Good Animation
Large Fanbase
Not overly expensive
Fits target audience well

Why it won't happen:
Too much fan service (did someone say panites and cleavage?)
Network Execs (nuff said)
BS&P...

If you think Gunsmith Cats has too much fan service, I seriously think you should go back and rewatch it (or watch it for the first time). unlike most of ADV Films' stuff, GSC has very little if any fanservice. I remember that much about it, even if I haven't watched it in over a year.

I think it would work very well on AS as a one a week thing. It would'nt have to be edited either.

Sure, it would be great. For three nights. I really liked it, but it's just too short for them to really put any effort into pursuing it.

Fanservice? Eh, they're in their "sleep clothes" a little bit while inside their house, but everyone's ass is showing on Reign, so I doubt there would be too big a deal.

It would be great, but ADV might save it for their Anime Channel. I hope they'll let it be shown on the Action Channel.

Didn't they show this on action channel before or am I thinking of another show...

I saw the OVA recently at the anime club at school and I really enjoyed it, though it reminded me kind of Miami Vice or Nash Bridges at points, but that isn't a bad thing in my book. The Fan Service didn't strike me as anything CN couldn't pull on AS (no nudity = no problem) and neither did the violence, especially now that Reign's aired.

Also, it'd be a show that'd be a non-otaku draw. It's got guns/explosives, action, nice looking girls and comedy. You can't lose. Besides, the TV op is so catchy and 80's.

So, yes, I'd like to see it run and I think if CN and ADV get along well because of GRW, it'd be a likely candidate for AS. It's ratings in the bag IMO.

If they don't, it's on my "to buy list".

It is a rather "American-style" show, being set in Chicago and just having that certain air about it. Supposedly, the creator loves Chicago and visits a lot, and that shines through, for sure. I've only been to Chicago a few times, but it definitely was a very cool, authentic-feeling representation of it. That plus the shootouts, the car chases, and the fun story definitely would make it accessible to even non-anime viewers. I'd like to see it on AS for a special three night run, or something, but I just don't see it happening.

It's not happening, thanks to Evil Incoporated, the Beareu of Standards and Practices. Men's butts are fine, but women's? No, sir!

I don't recall any women's butts though, unless you're talking women's butts with panties covering them. Atleast in the OVA.

it would be an interesting little run to break up some of the other stuff on AS. cute but action packed. Rally Vincent has to be one of the hottest anime chicks out there.

on the note of editing, i dont think that there would be to to much needed to be cut for AS.

knowing the way that Toonami and AS are shaping up with shows though, if it ever did come out on tv it would be on Toonami.

on a side note, it has shown a couple of times on Action.

the only reason why I can't see it on toonami is the guns. they repainted guns in Outlaw Star to look like blasters, so something guns in the name is just asking for it. Gunsmith Cats on the Saturday night block might fit very well though.

Does anyone think the Riding Bean movie could also be shown? I can't remember exactly how violent that was.
Since Gunsmith Cats is short, I wish it could be arranged to show it back to back with You're Under Arrest.

I didn't know the Action Channel had shown Gunsmith Cats. I've only had it a year, and if it was shown during that time I missed it.
