Right after Futurama, they had a Sealab 2021 At and T Commercial. It had Stormy dialing the Phone, then Quinn telling him to dial down the center, then Murphy pressing the self destruction button and blowing up Sealab (again). Anyone else see it and want to comment on it?

A stupid ad for a stupid show.
They could at least TRY to put some thought into the ads.

Matt, you confuse me. Why is it that you like the other Williams Street shows just fine, but utterly loathe Sealab? It's practically identicial to ATHF in the humor style.(No offense to your preferences, though. To each his own.)

It's not identical to ATHF at all.
ATHF is clever, witty, and knows when to be weird and when to reel it in.
Sealab is stupid, pretentious, and only weird in a patronizing way.

Basically, Sealab has absolutely no plot, and relies solely on random jokes, and he doesn't like it.

Well, I like Sealab more than the other WS shows, but they're all great.
KingKoopa : How much of a plot can a stand-alone 11-minute episode have? And it's not like ATHF has any more of a plot. Personally, I don't care if it has a good plot or not. It's the humor that makes up my mind about a comedy-based cartoon, and Sealab has plenty of that.

To quote my pretentious roommate: "Non-sequitors are not funny solely because they're non-sequitors."
Sealab has had some fabuluous shows (Tinfins, All That Jazz, Radio Free) and may have even made a point back in the early days, but the more recent episodes are far more random and far less clever. Sealab is my favorite ES show, but at times, it's also my least favorite. We can only hope that WS returns sealab to its former... well former latter glory... damn that's nonsensical.

Yeah, i mean ATHF IS my fav WS show, but the plots the same EVERY week. Its essentially a "monster/alien of the week" show (with the exception of dumber days). Sealab is just an excuse by the creators to have wacky random fun and save for the "happy birthday quinn" ep, i wouldnt have it any other way.

Most Sealab episodes don't really go anywhere
-Murphy gets squished by a vending machine and lies there for an episode.
-Murphy goes golfing, gets lost, and wanders around for an episode
-Murphy and the others get locked in a closet and try to get out for an episode
whereas ATHF has some situation arise that's dealt with throughout the episode. Instead of spending a whole episode trying to get out of a room, you might see something like Meatwad ask Frylock for a doll, Frylock goes to the store, decides to get Happy Time Harry instead of the more expensive doll, Happy Time Harry turns out to be an ass, Frylock gets Jiggle Billy to compensate, Jiggle Billy attempts suicide, which leads to the final confrontation and Shake chucking Harry off of a cliff. It progresses throughout the episode and all of the stuff I mentioned is needed to bring the story from the beginning to the end. It's not like Sealab where Murphy could be stuck in that closet for the whole episode and nothing progresses.
I like Sealab okay, but some of the more recent episodes have seemed worse, both because it's too clear that nothing's happening and that I think the jokes are not as good. And at least if there's a plot to the story, there's something interesting if the jokes don't work.

ATHF had a couple bad episodes for a few weeks recently, but the last few have been pretty damn good. The only thing I'd improve upon now is getting Dr. Weird's openings to once again have somthing to do with the episodes overall plot.
"Gentlemen, behold! Corn!" Ugh...
Sealab has also been suffering, but to outright hate the show is mind boggling. If you enjoy ATHF and Home Movies, then you should be able to enjoy Sealab. It combines the stupid humor of ATHF w/ the speech-oriented style of HM. If you doubt me, go watch the best example of this, "I Robot".

I have to agree with one thing. The commercial was lame.

I have yet to see a decent AT&T dial down the center commercial. First it was David Arquette being an ass on television. Then it was carrot top being an even BIGGER ass on television. Now its taking a cool cartoon (that episode where the vending machine fell on murphy and the rest of the sealab crew went out on tour was GREAT) and using those characters in yet another lame ad.
List of Advertisers that need to be Shot:
1-Creators of AT&T commercials
2-Creators of Calvin Klein commercials
3-Creators of Old Navy commercials
and the list will continue to grow i'm sure.

I missed it. A part of me feels sorry, but the other is laughing at my sorrow. :p
and the list will continue to grow i'm sure.

How did that one DBZ action figure commercial go? "The evil Yakkron is trying to take over the universe!!! Can Super SAIyan Gohan save the day!?" :D

On his capsule bike, no doubt. I swear, the toy companies do not watch the show at all. Even if they get the models looking completley like the characters, I imagine that they only watch the model sheets. If they had watched on episode of Dragon Ball Z, they would have known that Gohan (and the others) could fly and not need FREAKIN MOTOR BIKES!!
I can only hope that if toys for adult swim comedey come out, that they manage to not only look like the characters, but have commericals that act like they watched the show. Like say they said "The Evil Basketball Coach McGuirk is taking over the Universe! Will Brendon Small, the 10 year old Super Powered Detective and his Cohorts Jason and Melissa stop his evil with their photon guns?" Imagine the other possibilites. Or better yet, don't. It will save you a headache.

Don't forget the shotguns, rocket launchers, and other weaponry that Irwin packaged with their re-packaged AB toys a few years ago... haha.
I saw the Sealab AT&T commercial last night during Futurama ... pretty pathetic. They must have spent fifteen minutes making that whole thing.

You forgot Subway... GO JARED!!!!
Naw, I don't mind the Jared Subway ads. It's the ones with that other guy I don't like. You know, where that guy always acts like a jerk and somehow always knows the name of the person behind the counter at Subway.

I agree the commercial was lame (speaking as a big fan of both Sealab and ATHF).
Plus, it just doesn't seem right for a show that has mercilessly satirized advertising/commercialism to do the real thing.
I'm so livid that I'm gonna need to go down to Grizzlebee's and have one of those Simpsons' Butterfinger bars to relax. :D

I find it strange that people would comment on episodes "going downhill" in the past few weeks, considering that we have had nothing but re-runs lately. except for the new shows (like futurama and Lupin). :moon2: One could say that the last few episodes produced were bad (although Tinfins and Feast of Alvis were hilarious) but those aired for the first time over a month ago!
On another note, anyone know when new episodes of Sealab will air? I believe ATHF will start again in May
