I'm not sure if anyone would respond or something but here I go anyway..
I need some information and details about the International Monetary Fund, wether to let it coninue in it's current state or not, or just some details about what they do.
This is for a speech contest I'm going in to, not like I need help on it, just information about the IMF so I can get it started. Thanx.

Here is my beef with the IMF. They are not very good at using simple micro-economics to solve their problems.
Example. There solution to solving the over population in Africa was to give out condoms. From an economic stand point, this was stupid. Here's how you solve the problem. You have them internalize all their externalitites. Like this, the meadows, for example, are controlled by no one. So what is stopping a hut from having another child? nothing, its just another hand to bring in more food. Now, if you internalize these, then BAM, huts will have to do some bargining which will cost the hut something. Therefore, having another child means a higher bargining price which leads to less children. You can apply this to the water pond, the crap pile, etc. Plus things will improve. Like the crap pile. Since there are no sanitation laws, the crap pile is usually near their water source. But if people have to bargin for water, and the owner of the water hole has the crap pile next to the water, well they lose profit oppurtunities. Geez, its not that hard to figure out.
But, go ask all the protestors why they are protesting and they never answer. They must like dousing themselves in urine, since thats what they do.

Well, you can start by their website, which is here (http://www.imf.org/)
As far as more information, There are a lot of social science websites out there. A favorite of mine, which has a collection of links to different social science sites as well as papers and magazines... is Art & Letters Daily (http://www.aldaily.com)
Unfortuantely, today their main link isnt working so try this one (http://chronicle.com/aldaily/)
Hope it helps, Kat :)

Thanks for responding and giving me some stuff about them.
Gtracer72, your little gripe about them actually, it did help because there was something about the IMF taking billions of money from residents.. even homeless people, I think?
RR, sites are fine, but I would like to hear (erm, read) what you know and think so I can open up a little on the speech [to show different angles of other’s perspectives].
Outlander, thanks for the websites. I didn’t look through them thoroughly yet, but yes, I hope it’ll help.

Alright, I have some [very little] points on the subject. The question of this year's topic is: Should the IMF continue to exist within its current structure?
What I need now is a support or evidence about the arguement (I'm saying they should't continue), a quotation from one knowledgealbe about the issue, who said it, when, and where.... Actually my request is: IS THERE A SITE WHERE THEY HAD THIS ARGUEMENT, OR WHERE I CAN VIEW AN ARTICLE? Thank you.

Here's an article about how the IMF screws things up: http://www.mises.org/fullarticle.asp?record=965&month=44
Also, go to www.mises.org. You can search for more articles about the IMF there, and all the writers there are highly respected economists too.
