1. Beauty and the Beast is scheduled for a rerelease in IMAX theatres 1/1/2002, with its previously unused number(as in the original movie- I know it was in the stage show) "Human Again".

2. Peter Pan 2 is called "Return to Neverland". The preview shows it to be drawn in a near identical style to the original. The new heroine is called Jane. Unlike her mother Wendy, though, she's a bit of a tomboy. And now there's a squid instead of a crocodile.

3. Fluffy cute Nightmare Before Christmas plushies! :) The Clown with the Tear-away face is the cuddliest!

I was under the impression that "Return to Neverland" was going to be CGI.

I'm glad it isn't. I like the idea of it being close to the original...

BUT..I still don't want there to be a sequal....nor do I like the sound of "Jane" either...

Bah....screw disney...they're weird..

Maybe it's CGI.... But as far as I could tell from the preview... Identical to the original in terms of art style...

Yawn. D*sney is so terrified of falling back into the "helpless heroine" cliche that they've pitched headfirst into a new one. I wish they'd get over their hang-ups out there on Dopey Drive.

I'm not kidding when I say that, as a kid, the Crocodile was my favorite character. Now they've ditched him for a squid?

I'm eagerly awaiting the animation competition to show Disney how to do their job. Hopefully stuff like Shrek and Chicken Run is just shades of things to come.

Well....even if they're rehashing the classic, at least now they're actually following something from the book, instead of making something up (Like Melody). Jane was at the end, and Peter Pan did take her to Neverland. But I agree with Maxie, I'm getting tired of all the "headstrong, tomboy" females. And this trend with people's kids. Everything is all kiddified when they're young like that (Like Melody). Then again.......I guess they'd have to be kids to be in Neverland ^_^

I just noticed this, while Nightflower is right Jane is in the original story wasn't she Wendy's granddaughter not her daughter?

Nope. She was her daughter. I think you're mixing the story with the movie Hook, where it focued on Wendy, and her granddaughter, "Moira".

Jane is Wendy's daughter. The whole book's online, and the very end of chapter 17 mentions Wendy's daughter and granddaughter by name...

I don't know what IMAX will do to it. but this could be the best overall Disney full length since Pinnochio, wonderful story, great characters, the Beast is one of the few animated characters Disney ever did, that showed real growth in maturity and attitude. A wonderful movie, glad this new version is being presented. Thank you for telling us.

--the villian in Peter Pan II will be a chibi-Hook, though...maybe some relation to the original. There was a version of Peter Pan done some years ago on Fox that I believe was much more faithful to the original, which gave a much more human, less whiny and cookie-cutter villian in James Hook (voiced by Tim Curry). One of my favorite eps was when Hook played baseball with Pan and the kids, believing them to have the secret of turning lead to gold--it seems he confused the term "bases" for "basis"! LOL....
