CN's attemp at making old cartoons adult by showing random clips with inserted censor "beeps".  is this supposed to be funny? Scooby Doo (not) swearing? *gags* any thoughts? just what i wanted in between my AS shows, more scooby doo. At least the Wonder Twin ones are funny

Well, the "Not for Air" sequences aren't as funny as the Wonder Twins and Captain Linger segments, but they're still better than those "Herculoids Babies" segements.

I agree. Captain Linger always had sort of a TV Funhouse feel to it.

I didn't find the Not for Air Scooby Doo short all that funny, the censors didn't always seem to match up with an actaul swear, but I do like the idea of changing around dialougue in classic shows to make them more funny, just as long as it isn't baby talk.

The "Not for Air" segments would be much funnier if they redubbed all of the dialouge with "adult material" coming out of their mouths.

Fred and Wilma arguing whether or not to have sex, or Scooby and Shaggy talking about pot would be funny, if done in a clever way.

I never saw the Scooby Doo "Not for Air" segment, but I saw the Flinstones one. I thought it was funny how Wilma called Fred a fat f***. I hate the Herculoids babies (air this during Baby Looney Tunes, these really suck and their audience may appreciate it more than us) and I don't like the "What's (insert name) really thinking?" Other than those, I like Watering Hole and the new Wonder Twins.

i think the watering hole segments are really good. especially if you're a home movies person (such as I).

i only saw one of the wonder twins (the one tonight), but it was really funny as well. "You made a gopher-moat!" almost had me in tears.

i thought the "What is the bear really thinking?" segment was just, dumb.

and i haven't seen any of the not for air ones.

The Baby segments are making fun of shows like Baby Looney Tunes. And on the topic of Not for Air, I think there pretty funny. "Reah! It's f****** freezing!" But since it's Scooby, would it be "r****** reezing!"?

I think the purpose of the Not for Air segments' bleeping is to copy what happens on The Osbournes. It's now their trademark for all the profanity bleeping.

It's like I read in an article that said that no one would be interested in an unedited video/DVD release of The Osbournes, because half the fun is not understanding what they're saying with all the bleeping. I think it's a fast way for Cartoon Network to get a quick chuckle.

I like the segments because I think it's a quick & cheap way for them to make some "older audience" cartoon shorts. I'd rather see them than another Juicy Fruit commercial.

The first not for air segment was ok, I got a chuckle out of it. But then I saw another one the next day and was like "they are doing this again....why?" As a one time joke it was ok but it shouldn't work as a regular short. They don't even change anything....it's just instead of placing bleeps in scooby-doo they put in in the Flintstones. Same goes for the "baby" skits, it's just the same thing over and over again. They redubbed the voices with baby noises. I GET IT!!! Well thats my rant. Wonder Twins and Watering Hole are hilarious though. I've laughed out loud at every wonder twins skit so far. I could see why some people don't like watering hole though. It's very dry humor, I love it. "is that feces in the snack mix?"

an good Idea indeed, but something could make them better

I know but it just isn't funny and doesn't do a good job at all.

Last night's Wonder Twins was great. I'm not too wild about the "What is Pa (or other character) really thinking?" segments either. I liked the Shaggy and that one guy he didn't know (nor do I) segment too. Reminds me alot of those older Cartoon Network characters at work segments.

The shaggy and galtar thing was pretty funny too. :)

I stand by my original claim that swearing children's cartoons are always funny.

I also like that Osbournes comparison, Zara.

They could probably redo whole episodes of the Flinstones like that.

Or maybe one of the Hanna Barbara rock group cartoons. HB didn't do 'The Archies' did they? That group swearing at each other would be a riot.

On a side note, I have to count myself as one of apparently few fans of the HB babies. They do say things, completely inane things that are probably as meaningful as the original dialogue. Did you catch the recent one with the female being poked and saying "That's my boobie." with the Barbarian template character looking shocked? That was good. And anytime they have a toddler screaming when a character is shot is pretty good.

I'd rather see openings than all those little sequences.

I'd have to agree with you here, even though I don't think they've shown any here in Aus.

I don't know if anyone from Australia would want to buy it - The Osbournes are shown here with uncensored audio on both Cable & FTA

The Flintstones one was funny but in the Scooby one the bleeps seemed out of place

That was "What is ------ ------ thinking" not "Not for Air"

I for one, enjoyed the Jetson's Not for air. Well placed bleeps there.

Yeah, that episode of Harvey Birdman was called "Shaggy Busted." ;)

All of these short little things that Adult Swim has been airing during breaks lately have been pretty horrible. "Watering Hole" is halfway amusing, though.

I wonder if they'll fade out like Captain Linger and Aquaman dance groove did. Probably.
