*Snore* Zzzzzzzz…uuuuhhh…flag…uuhhh…hat...zzzzzzzzzz…hit me baby one more time…uuuuhhhhh…it’s more of a gesture…what? Oh, er, sorry. No edits. That’s it. Goodnight *snoring again*

Anime v. Manga: Um…about half this episode wasn’t even in the manga. I’d tell you about it, but I feel lazy…okay, okay. In the manga, all that happened was that Sango explained the origins of the Shikon no Tama. That’s it. There was none of this going to the grave site and invoking ancient demons to rise or anything like that. It were as if the director went, “You know, the manga was nothing but talk and back story at this point, so let’s make up a fighting sequence to spice things up a little. It doesn’t have to make complete sense because hey, the viewer wants this kind of stuff everywhere, right?”

And that does it for this week of “Inu-Yasha”.

Also their was no mention of Kirara being some ancient demon friend of the priestess since that wouldn't make any sense for a priestess to use a Demon.

Well, IMO, a priestess with a demon as friend makes about as much sense as a demon exterminator with a demon as a pet. :moon2:

She only exterminates demons that are pests, plus Sango does use Kirara to help exterminate pest demons.

She doesn't go around killing demons left and right.

Do you think we could keep the "edit reports" to a weekly thing? One thread for the week, instead of one per episode? It just seems like it'd be less cluttered that way. This goes for the YYH edit lists, too, but it's just a suggestion.

Anyway, I have a question that's been buggin' me for a while. So, this shikon jewel was shattered into lots of tiny shards by Kagome. Now, how does everyone, all across the land, know that it's been shattered? Does news really spread that quickly? Whenever someone finds a piece of the jewel, they never question why it's in pieces, so they must have heard about it somewhere. It just seems strange to me that everyone would automatically know about it. But, I missed an episode here and there, so maybe someone could clue me in.

I'm guessing many saw the shards fly everywhere and word just spread.

Yay, so pretty much no edits all week.

Like neo says, it was broken and a lot of flying shards went everywhere, so a lot of people have seen it. Plus, I think there's some kind of news ring with demons and stuff.

No official(Manga) explanation is given, but I believe that Naraku has spread the news to people so that they would attempt to collect the jewels for him so he can take large numbers at once.

Remeber they said that the priestess purfies the demons souls. She not going around exterminating every demon she meets. Instead she turns their souls to good. That is where a demon pet can come in.

But that is kina rare that may even happen, since most demons are evil to start out with.

Keyword: most.

Look at Shippo, he's a full demon, but he's really nice and looks at Kagome as a big sister.

Well that is partly true, but I was just making a point and all.

A very powerful, very ancient priestess's body.

It made no sense for the ghost fight to happen since the souls of that demon and the priestess are in the jewel shards, how did they appear as complete ghosts?

Stupid director. He left out the most interesting part: the similarities between what happened between Kikyo and Inuyasha and Naraku and what happened with the demon and the priestess. What happened was the demons were afraid of the preistess, so they feasted upon each other, and the hundreds of small demons merged into a large, powerful demon. Similar to how Onigumo became Naraku.

So this suggests that the decedents of the priestess (presumably Kikyo and Kagome) are forced by their contact with the jewel to repeat it's history over and over again until the jewel is destroyed. That a sign things might not end well with Kagome and Inuyasha.

You know what I didn't get or what I missed: why did Myouga bring the jewel with him when he went to see the priestess?

I'm wondering that too.

Anyone know how much time passed between the jewel being broken and now?

When a demon is purified it dies.

When a hanyou like Inu-yasha is purified he becomes human temporarly.

Youkai can be either good or evil but their huge power usually corrupts them and make them evil.

We see a lot of Youkai that are naturally good like Shippo or Inu-yasha's father.

Here's an example of Jaken nearly getting purified.

Please note that this contains spoilers for anyone not having seen past episode 35.

Also please note that this picture is indeed from Volume 26.

In addition, Please note that this is also in Japanese since Viz is only on Volume 12.
