Very cool indeed! :D

Sticking with the jet theme, here's the famous "jet breaking the sound barrier" picture:

That is an exciting picture. It looks like the person with the shoe kicked the other guy off, which is probably not the situation.

Those are cool pictures, even if they don't seem to have any meaning.

First pic: "Dude, that is so dangerous."

Second pic: It looks like that jet let one rip.

Spiffy. (heck, I don't know what I means--I just like the sound of it! :p ) Cool perspective...and the sound barrier one is awesome! :D

Wow, is that really the effect breaking the sound barrier has - or am I being naive? That is certainly explosive - like something out of science fiction.

The first pick would have made a great 'funny quote'.

very cool! Some majorly awesome and unusual photos. Don't exactly see those too often, if ever. Love the first one, wow, what a view.

>looks at the third picture< Hey, I can see my house! :D

The first one is insane, and gives me vertigo just looking at it. And the second one is truly kick ass, although I never knew when you break the sound barrier, you actually physically break a barrier. Sweet. Ya learn something new every day.

Edit: Crud, I thought I was the first person to say that! Bah! :)

And did you notice that Japan is virtually all lights, and seems to be the brightest part on the map?

That is awsome! And look how big America is compared to it's small state, Hawaii! My question is: How did they get all those lights on at the same time, and why is the Eastren part of the U.S.A seem not to have any lights on?

Umm....are you looking at the same picture we are? To me, it looks like the Eastern half of the U.S. is the brightest part....

In case you mean the western half, it's simple. There's just not as many large cities out there, and they're more spread out. Anyone who's driven through the West knows there's pretty much nothing in between them. XD

As for your first question, I'm thinking it's actually some kind of composite picture...though I could be dead wrong :p

Well I'm also wondering on somthing, if they did this, did they have to do it frame by frame, because that the day light would mess it up and all?

Calhoun07

I am sure the pic is a composite of several satellite photos of the night side of earth put together as one pic. What I am impressed about is that they managed to put it together with no clouds. I wonder how long it took to get it done?

There is one little lone light WAY up north, near the artic. I wonder who is living up there? Seriously, don't say Santa, I really wonder what city is up there that has lights that can be seen from orbit?

Click on IMAGE VIEWER then type in your home address and zoom in. I did this and I saw my own car parked in front of my apartment, I kid you not.

My guess it that it's either a radar station still being used and maintained even after the Cold War ended ,a sufficiently large research center, or the last place on Earth a Canadian Mounty wants to be stationed.

Awesome pics! :D

Pic 1: Veeerrrry cool! I actually got a rush of adrenaline just looking at that picture. Made me feel like I was person on top of the other guy. So, that's what skydiving feels like. :p Of course, I don't think I'll try it in real life.

Pic 2: So......that's what the sound barrier looks like! I never knew you could actually see the sound barrier. Too cool! :D

Pic 3: Dang! That pic is HUGE! I had to scroll sideways to the way right to see the whole thing. Pretty cool, though. I wonder where that picture was taken. Probably, a from a spaceshuttle. Either that, or some kinda UFO. :p

That's pretty cool...I really could see my house from there! :D But those photos are at least a year old, I'm almost certain. There are some buildings in my neighborhood now that don't show up on the map. Still, it's nice to see those trees there again!
