It may be the dead of winter outside, but in the sunny, summertime world of Ed, Edd n Eddy, life is all about jawbreakers, pranks and hanging out on the cul-de-sac. On Monday, January 20, Cartoon Network gives America a chance to live life like an Ed during the seven-hour Ed's All Day marathon from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (ET, PT).

Ed, Edd n Eddy, an original, half-hour series from Danny Antonucci, tells the story of three best friends who have the same first name and live on the same cul-de-sac in the suburbs. But the three boys' personalities are as different as they are ridiculous. The Eds are driven by their constant quest for money, which they plan to spend on life's finer things, like jawbreakers. Bolstered by the power of adolescent ignorance, they plunge headlong into outlandish summertime adventures that would be unbelievable if they weren't so close to the reality of every kid's life.

Ed, Edd n Eddy has been one of Cartoon Network's biggest hits with boys since its debut in 1999. For the Fourth Quarter of 2002, it was the top-rated original series among Boys 9-14 and Boys 6-11. Like The Three Stooges, this trio has captivated their audience with their wacky schemes and physical gags. Ed (the goofy, lanky one with the unibrow) is often enlisted by Eddy (the mischievous, entrepreneurial leader of the group) to carry out the outrageous plans that sets the wacky action in motion.). Edd, also known as Double D, is the unusually smart and polite one, and he usually ends up trying to get the threesome out of the peril that Ed and Eddy have created.

Ed, Edd and Eddy are joined in their odd little piece of suburbia by a group of kids who are sometimes their co-conspirators, but more often their marks. First, there's Sarah, Ed's little sister, who gets whatever she wants, and her pal Jimmy, who wears orthodontic headgear. Nazz is the most mature girl on the block, and all the boys go crazy for her womanly wiles. Rolf is from an exotic country no one's ever heard of, and he's extremely proud of his native customs. Jonny 2x4 is the inquisitive loner who carries his best friend Plank, a wooden board sporting a crayon-drawn smiley face. Then there are the notorious Canker Sisters, who live in a motor home park on the other side of the cul-de-sac.

Cartoon Network, currently seen in 82.1 million U.S. homes and 145 countries around the world, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.'s 24-hour, ad-supported cable service offering the best in animated entertainment. Drawing from the world's largest cartoon library, Cartoon Network also showcases unique original ventures such as The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd n Eddy and other Cartoon Cartoons. Since its launch in 1992, Cartoon Network has remained one of ad-supported cable's highest-rated networks. Cartoon Network's Web site is located at http://CartoonNetwork.com (AOL Keyword: Cartoon Network).

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., an AOL Time Warner company, is a major producer of news and entertainment product around the world and the leading provider of programming for the basic cable industry.

What the fudge do Ed, Edd, and Eddy have to do with Martin Luther King Jr.? Is there even one black character in it?
...But then again, you could say that for almost any Cartoon Network show except Dexter's Lab (Action Hank) so I guess I'll shut up now.

Well Rolf is a foreigner, but yeah, they don't have much to with King, nor do other Cartoon Cartoon's for the most part. But the Ed's are the best Cartoon Cartoon, so this is still cool.

Kids are home....

Kids have nothing to do...

Ed, Edd, and Eddy is on...

No relation but not everything in this has to have one.

Holiday marathon...

Need to put in a series as a showcase... in this case it's Ed, Edd, and Eddy...

The best one was the President's Day Marathon a few years back with Dexter where they used the episode with the dueling Lincoln and Washington statues...

Something else (showing the movie Bebe's Kids followed by Waynehead) would have been ideal, but I digress...

So, show the Eds. CLStorm hit the hammer on the nail.

I'm glad they are doing one. Sure it's not MLK related but it's all for the children folks. I'm sure the Moms and Dads who stay home really would like this (keeps the kids out of their hair for about the hours school would be in session.)

Besides, most Eds Marathons are really good.
-Boys Of Summer 2002
-Ed-Dependence Day 2001

There's more, I just don't remember them.

Unless Johnny 2X4 counts then your right about that. And as the others said before they probably did it because they could.

EE&E are like Dr. King, sort of....they have a dream that seems out of reach to most people (get lots of money to obtain jawbreakers). Unlike Dr. King's dream, however, I don't think the Eds will ever fulfill theirs. :)

No......no

Ed, Edd, and Eddy have their marathon because it will generate ratings, that is all.

I do not really like holiday marathons. Some of them, such as this one, have no relation to the day. If you like the show selected, that is great, but otherwise, it is confusing.

I know that. I'm just being silly.

Of course, at least they have put together a good schedule for the marathon. Of course there's no such thing as a bad episode of EE,nE, but that's not the point.
