View Full Version : New Mission Hill?

I admit I'm somewhat out of the loop when it comes to Adult Swim news. I somewhat made the choice when Adult Swim came out to NOT get all caught up in the news for it. Covering anime and Toonami is enough for me, anything else I pick up is gravy... nice thick lumpy gravy that's got skin on it from being in the fridge all night.

Anyways, so somebody probably has already posted this up and gotten the answer somewhere along the line, but obviously I missed it. What is the status on new Mission Hill episodes? I was really enjoying watching them and I'm definitely looking forward to more material, assuming there is going to be more material.

So what's the digs on this story?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure that there are no more new episodes coming for Mission Hill.

Oh well.:french1: :french2:

I know, see that's why I thought there were new episodes or at least episodes that have yet to air on Adult Swim.

I hate it when shows end without getting more than one or two seasons...

Undergrads, Downtown, Aeon-Flux (heheh, just kidding)... the long list of MTV productions to fail after one season just keeps on growing. Next up, 3 South.

Good news is they're all potential candidates (well not really Aeon-Flux) to be added to Adult Swim in 2 to 5 years when the MTV license on them runs out.

this is true undergrads and downtown were greatshows, and i love 3 south, but i also have no doubt that it will be gone next season, i knew it befre it even started. atleast its lasting as long as it is, remembe that spy show a year back with like four episdes, it oculd have been as bad as that.

as for mission hill, i'm straight up pissed that there will be no more new episodes, especially when the rippig freaks get more episodes, because it might just be me, but i dont laugh during the ripping friends, infact i wonder sometimes if there are even jokes in that show, or if it's supposed to be that borring...

Undergrads really doesn't count because it was made by Teletoon.

Undergrads,

Actually, Undergrads had a second season in Canada and it's gonna be on Comedy Central along with Gary and Mike (from the creators of Celebrity Death Match) and the Clerks cartoon (I can't count how many times I watched this DVD) unfortunately they're on at 11:30 on Sunday and are adult swim competition!

Unfortunately, everything comes down to $ and mission hill's production costs are really high. they have concepts for like 4 or 5 unmade episodes on the official mission hill website, the url of which has slipped my mind. I couldn't imagine that Ripping Friends has high production costs, all they need is for John K to squat and take a crap on a piece of paper

It's the same voice actor. He also did a voice in the Clerks cartoon. And as far as re-used mission hill voices, the guy who voices Wally and the Ewok guy in one episode also voices none other than Spongebob Squarepants (and his dad). In fact, if you were to compare pictures of Spongebob's Dad and Wally, they also look alike. The same guy is also the announcer of  :blossom: :bubbles: . And on the topic of Voice actors and Spongebob, Patrick is voice by Dauber (the big tall oafy blonde guy) from Coach (with Craig T. Nelson)

power_of_mullet,

if you click the edit button you can change a reply you've made instead of posting three in a row.

anyways, i dont think mission hill will ever come back due to production costs/the actors having many other projects/i dont think the ratings were ever that good.

Both Tom Kenny (spongebob) and the voice of Jim were on the HBO sketch comedy show Mr. Show with Bob and David. This is a great show, for those of you with a "weird" sense of humor.

So basically all of this means no new Misson Hill EVER.

this is true undergrads and downtown were greatshows, and i love 3 south, but i also have no doubt that it will be gone next season, i knew it befre it even started. atleast its lasting as long as it is, remembe that spy show a year back with like four episdes, it oculd have been as bad as that.

Spy Groove was an awful show with limited animation. It needed to die. However DownTown and Undergrads were victims of MTV's infamous practice of ****ting time slots. First they air it next to The Real World then move it and when ratings slip they move it again without notice.

DownTown had the "lost episodes" shown but It was at 3 am months after they stopped showing it. I think I'm the only one that saw them. 3-South seems to have a good following, it could last.

Clerks..I'm not a big fan for..it was funny when they made a joke about lesbians..but after cracking jokes about lesbians about 20 times after that all in the same minute..now that got old. Does anyone know what Clone High is, has it aired yet? I like 3-South and I think it will last another season, maybe..it has an unexceptable time slot (to me) at 10:30 on Thursdays..it would be nice if they would show it on Fridays..or weekends. Why do they switch their cartoons timeslots around so much that it gets low-ratings, the only MTV cartoon that I remember that lasted for more than one season is Daria, IMO Daria lost its funniness in the last season..well not its funniness..Daria just lost her dullness..
