If you could change one thing about Adult Swim in 2003, what would it be?

In what's probably the most unpopular opinion ever, I'd say lose Futurama, or at least tone it down a bit. I mean, Futuram isn't a bad show, but it takes up 50% of ASC's weeknight schedule and it isn't truly an AS show. IMO that time would be much better filled with a rotating 15 minute WS short and a return to the chronological run of SGC2C.

EDIT: now that I've actually read all of the options, I'd pick change weeknight schedule.

Change it so that its starts at 10 instead of 11.

I'm not an anime fan so get rid of the action shows.

Also, Futurama isn't great so toss that, as well as Ripping Friends.

Starting an hour earlier at 10:00 would be nice too.

Agreed.

To do so I'd pull off Johnny Bravo and Scooby Doo. Reason being Johnny airs at 3 PM, and Scooby airs in the morning and on Boomerang. Shift everything down 1/2 hour.

For 1 AM, toss in Bugs and Daffy.

I want to keep the Saturday/Sunday schedule because it gave me something to look foward too. I know most of you are saying "But I want to see Adult Swim all week.". Yah, well, good for you, but it makes my weeks go by faster.

I would probably add an Anime comedy and a Western-produced action series for fair balance, disproving the notion that ASA is all Anime and ASC is all cartoons.

Two good examples:

Love Hina and Invasion: America

What do you think?

Lose Home Movies on weeknights, replace with Mobile Suit Gundam.

I also agree with this.

Good idea, though in my opinion the American action show should/could be Roughnecks:Starship Troopers. As far as the anime comedy, I haven't a clue, the only 'anime comedies ' I've seen are Tenchi and Ranma 1/2.

"I voted other, beacuse the OPs need to come back"

I second that! :D

I'd also have more print ads/other network ads (come on, there's no reason the WB couldn't air commercials for Adult Swim programs, especially after all CN's done for Kids' WB!)/more merchandise. The day when I can go into a Suncoast and buy a Sealab shirt or a Meatwad stress ball will be a happy one.

I'd also like to see Sealab and ATHF on DVD, complete with "Making of" documentaries and creator commentaries.

A Must have.
:D
One of the reasons I started watching AS is because they show the OPs.

10:00 sounds good, though.

Stop treating the anime and comedy like they're two different blocks. (Especially since they won't be)

And advertize more. I know they'll never have a Yu Yu ad in Entertainment weekly, but then at least advertize for the block in general!

I'd like dropping the comedy on weeknights, but now looking back a more realistic and much appreciated choice would be moving to 10:00 so I do not suffer from sleep deprevation/ lack of videos to tape with.

Yes, I'm alive. :tom:

i love it when something i post gets replied to... :murphy:

personally, i would lose action, set it back to 10:00 PM, and have this schedule:

10:00 - Futurama
10:30 - Home Movies
11:00 - Space Ghost
11:15 - Williams Street Show

then i would sleep.

I would create or paved the way for hte creation of a new American-produced ASA show. That block needs a case of Americanism, the same way ASC needs some comedic anime.

I would want to keep the old Saturday/Sunday schedule. It would end a lot of arguments, and the new shows could be better fitted into the time slots. Now I'm not saying the new schedule is bad, but overall I still prefer the old schedule.

I'd want the opening to Inu-yasha back.

But, I'd also want Mobile Suit Gundam to stay on the block till it's done.

I'd also keep Sat and Sun. I work Sun through Thur and I like having ASA to end my week and ASC to relax me after I get off work.

Having different shows on different days of the week. It's not going to happen, and I'm actually happy with the current schedule in terms of Anime. But Home Movies could switch off with Space Ghost. IMO I don't want it to leave the schedule permantely. Not to mention it may come in handy when alot of the anime's start showing up. Since I know Cowboy Bebop will be the first show off. And although some of the episodes have already aired 10 times. I still can't see it leaving.. especcialy due to how cool a "Trigun - Bebop hour" sounds, but nonetheless it could use a break anyway.

10-1 sounds good too. Having it from 11-2 would require having premieres too late. But most people under 18 can likely manage staying up till 1 compared to 2. (Otherwise the Midnight Run wouldn't have been made)

I would have to say, bring another show since the ratings have been very good lately.

I voted to keep Saturday and Sunday. It just won't be the same without a Saturday night Adult Swim to look forward too. Now I'll have to stay up every night to watch my favorite shows, or learn how to use a VCR

VCRs are quite easy to use or you get a TiVo (or other PVR). They're really easy to use.
