Actually, there is an official Harvey Birdman tee coming out sometime in Feb. 2003. The front has a small Havey Birman logo on it and the back has a picture of Harvey with his fist out and the caption "Tying Up the System with his Legal Briefs!"

I was at my comic store today and they had a Harvey Birdman shirt that had a big picture of Harvey on the front captioned by "Grabbing the penal system with both hands" I bought one of course.

My first theory was that these shirts weren't exactly legit. That would be a reasonable explanation for why they can't be found on the CN shopping site, or the official AS site (because they haven't made them).
But then...
they have an online shop... but the AS shirts aren't listed yet. however, there is a store locator. it's a shame shopCNdotcom doesn't have these goodies.
So, these are official shirts have been made and distributed? Do you have any information on them that you could share with us?

Their description says that the Brak show is on "Comedy Central's Adult Swim", I guess CN isn't cool enough for Hot Topic.

Let's pretend for a moment, that the Brak Show is on Comedy Central...that's still the stupidest marketing descritption ever. It's basically saying "If you are a fan of this show, then you know what this show is."

No offense to anyone, but why are you all being so vague? Hot Topic is like an "alternative culture" type store, that sells like clothes, weird, baggy pants, and shirts of pop culture and punk and metal bands. They also sell all weird trinkets and CD's, plus its the ONLY store I've found were i can buy vinyl records of current music, at least in my area. I have not seen AS shirts though. A detailed description of the shirts would be good, not just "...uhh, their white and black with blue trim..." I mean, c'mon, that could be any shirt.

I just looked at some of the auctions on Ebay for some of the Adult Swim shirts. Is it me, or do those shirts look phony? If you look at the pictures, it's the same picture of one shirt with 2 shirts underneath it (the only exception is that the design on each shirt is different). The top shirt looks a little fuzzy, yet the design on it is crystal clear (and looks a little uncentered). Are these the kind of shirts found at Hot Topic, or did someone make them and are passing them off as official merchandise?
I've included the links to the specific auctions so that you can see if the shirts are athentic or not.

Those shirts are definitely fake. Whoever photoshopped those didn't even bother to simulate the wrinkles through the center designs; you can tell they just laid an image on top of a picture of a shirt.
Here are some pictures of some shirts from Hot Topic that were posted at the Adult Swim Message Board. They seem to be legit.

Those are some really bad bootlegs. It's like a couple of guys took Silk Screen 101 and now think they've got this great merchandise. Feh.
Anyway, thanks for the link to the S2N store. I don't really like the designs for the HM t-shirts, but the hat is kinda cool. Although, as much as I love the show, I don't know if I really see myself ever wearing a Home Movies hat.

You mean a clothing store that takes anything remotely "cool", packages it for the masses and ruins it. I mean you walk in there and see Ghostbusters shirts, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirts, a section devoted to "emo" clothing, "punk" clothing, "raver" clothing, etc. I hate Hot Topic and I'm disappointed that Adult Swim will be it's next victim. I'm sorry I'm so bitter but I'm just pissy because now all my friends who aren't true fans will have all this stuff...and I'm crying. You think they would stay up on Christmas night, or stay home from any party on New Year's Eve, let alone any Sunday night to tape Adult Swim?! No, but I will, because I love it! Anyone have similar feelings?

i shop there.. granted i hate most of the idiots that shop there, but what's the big deal? now those of us who want to can buy AS merch rather easily will be able. still, i see where you're coming from. kids are jumping on the bandwagon of cult phenomena that they never heard of till they saw a humorous t-shirt. not to mention the silly angst-ridden bands and "scenes" they have. try to look at the positives here :D

I was there today and they had the ATHF, Sealab and Brak ones, along with a Harvey Birdman one that had a fake-action feel to it, like the opening. There was also a SGC2C one that just had a pic of Space Ghost using his ray. Kinda lame in comparison to some of the old SGC2C shirts.

Well, I'm not that hard-core a AS fan, but I can see your sentments. Yes I shop Hot Topic, but where else in the suburban midwest am i gonna get a CBGB T-shirt? Hot Topic has really made some great parts of pop-culture past into overkill (TMNT, the Goonies, Bill and Ted, Saved By the Bell) Whatever happened to it just being "the goth store"?

Why should people who like stuff that isn't widely popular be forced to spend every waking minute of their lives searching for the merchandise? That seems to be what you want. Trust me -- some of us do have lives, and I honestly don't care who's distributing this merchandise (well, y'know, as long as it's legit). Why do people insist on such masochism? Let it be widespread! It'll only make things easier, right?
I got that Brak shirt for Christmas, and yeah, it seems quite legitimate. A bootleg shirt would probably just be a plain T-shirt with an image on it. This shirt actually seems to have some element of design to it.

#1 AS isn't a members only club.
#2 So if I don't tape AS, does this mean I'm not a "true fan"? Am I a "poser"? Not being glued to something doesn't mean you don't sincerly enjoy it.
Feel good that you are an "old school" AS fan who was there from the beginning (if in fact, you were). Don't burden yourself or waste your time stressing over people who aren't as fixated on it as you. Relax and "ride the stimutacs".
#3 If you love AS so much why don't you want it to succeed? How does a program growing in popularity ruin it? Will popularity make AS less cool in your eyes? Like punk rock...
#4 Victim? How is Hot Topic selling AS merch, making CN money and spreading the word about it's programs victimizing AS? I think the advantage of this is entirely on their side. They aren't trying to target a little niche market. They want as many people watching AS as possible, and a good majority of AS fans would shop at Hot Topic, becasue it is an offbeat shop that sells offbeat stuff and let's face it, most of us are offbeat people, in the best sense of the term. But don't be surprised if you see AS merch in Anchor Blue someday, because believe me, they wouldn't be showing AS almost every night of the week if they weren't on a marketing campaign to net as many ratings as they can. It's not for everybody, but everbody is welcome to sample the block and make a choice about it. In the end it's still a business operated by businessmen.

I have that ATHF shirt. It's pretty cool. As for Claire's selling AS mech, well, they're more of a girly girl store and AS shows aren't exactly fluffy and glittery pink so they wouldn't be interested.
And one more thing....You mean a clothing store that takes anything remotely "cool", packages it for the masses and ruins it. TimGuy, please... Sure it's a store run by pseudo-goths and a subsidiary of the Gap (or something like that), but honestly, who the hell cares where a shirt comes from? If YOU genuinely appreciate the franchise you're buying merchandise of, does it really matter how soulless its distributor is? You could say that kind of stuff about ANY company. They're all money-grubbers.
Sorry, but your "true fan" ranting is...sad. How would it be different if this merchandise was being sold anywhere else? Can't these "posers" or "wannabes" get stuff of CN's site too? Don't be a snob.

I thought I would bump this thread up seeing how Hot Topic's webpage (http://www.hottopic.com/) is currently featuring all their adult swim merch on the front page, all the items have already been mentioned here though I think.
I think a lot of the word captions on the shirts are lame as hell though.

It's about time they added an AS brand page (http://www.hottopic.com/store/brandPage.asp?LS=0&M=549348941&BRAND_ID=35). It looks like some new stickers were added as well.

Aren't they ever gonna get some Lupin stuff in, or at least Family Guy..? :knd4:

Sadly, anime will never get the recognition it deserves. So no, there probably won't be any Lupin merchandise.

Cartoon Network doesn't own the rights to the characters, so they wouldn't be releasing Lupin or Family Guy merchandise. Maybe FUNi or Pioneer will put out Lupin stuff. I'm not sure if FOX would put out anything FG relelated other than the DVDs and plush toys.

S2N needs to have more Home Movies merch. Like, another shirt? That would be good.
