From http://www.jazzmess.com/ :

Yoko Kanno's New Anime Series in Japan: Steve Sings!!!
We can't tell you too much about this because it's still "in the works"...but one thing is for sure- Steve Conte is back singing with Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts!
The new animated series, entitled "Wolf Rain" takes place on earth after a future ice-age. It will be animated by the same people who did Cowboy Bebop and as usual, Yoko wrote the music, Tim Jensen wrote the lyrics and the Seatbelts played it!
Last month Yoko came from Tokyo to NYC to record Steve on three new songs at Soundtracks Studio. They recorded a song called "Stray", and two versions of the title song "Wolf Rain"... one with the Seatbelts and one with Steve solo on a nasty, funky acoustic guitar. The sessions were engineered by the great Joe Chiccarelli who was Frank Zappa's main engineer for 20 years and just recorded the new Elton John album.
That's about all we know right now but stay tuned for more updates!

*/me writes down "Wolf Rain" as the next anime she absolutly must see*

Sounds cool, but does this mean the prospect of another Bebop series is gone? Didn't the creators say they'd make more Bebop (at the least another movie) if "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" made a million bucks in the states?

Maybe they were joking or if was similar to "when pigs fly" (since anime movie distribution sucks) or something.

I don't think that there really is any prospect for another Bebop series. It's known that Cartoon Network has been pushing for it, but it's also known that no one at Sunrise has given any indication that they're in any way interested in continuing the Bebop television show.

Face it; Bebop is over. When a great composer, a Beethoven or a Mozart, has finished his masterpiece and it's available for everyone to hear and cherish, you don't say to him, "Hey, that was great, but why not add another ten minutes to the end of it?"

As for a second Bebop movie, it's generally accepted that that statement was a joke, a way of saying "when pigs fly."

Bebop concluded its saga in the last ep. Theres nothin more to tell. Hopefully this new show will be on par with CB so I can watch another high quality show

This is Studio BONES next highly anticipated anime series. They also did Angelic Layer, Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's Door, Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaia, and RahXephon. If Rahxephon didn't do it already, then this series is expected put them as one of the forerunners of quality anime production.
I'm pretty sure that Bebop is over. At BAAF 2002, I'm pretty sure Shinichiro Watanabe didn't want to directly say that Bebop is over in a room filled with over a hundred fans. His reply was more of "when pigs fly" sort of thing.

"New show "Wolf Rain" from the creators of Bebop"

Let me ask...

How is Wolf Rain created from the creators of Bebop? The article in Jazzmess didn't say anything about the creators (that's Shichiro Watanabe) making this series. All it said was that "The Seatbelts" are doing the music for Wolf Rain.

Shouldn't the title be renamed as "New Show 'Wolf Rain' from the music creator of Bebop"?

Just wondering...

Watanabe isn't working on this series, but Studio BONES is composed of ex-Studio Sunrise employees, some of which who had worked on Cowboy Bebop. I know that a couple of people who worked on Cowboy Bebop is working on this series.

Edit: Here is the information I was looking for. This information came from Ani-Magazine, though I got it from some other board.

Let me get this straight: So he's a wolf who looks like a kid or is he a kid that's a wolf?

They were talking about giving Ed a spin off, but the whole spike being dead kind of killed Bebop and Sadly Ed never got the spinoff.

I never understood the plot summary either. I'm guessing that it is a poor translation from the Japanese source.

Is it just me or do some parts of the premise sound alot like
The Big O?

Just the domed city and the post-apocalyptic time frame, and The Big O hardly invented either of those elements.

Sounds good, I think Wolf is used in the say way "a lone wolf" is used.

If you scroll down on my post, then you'll notice that the writer, planner, producer, character designer, mechanical designer, story editor, and many others have worked on Cowboy Bebop. I would consider those "creators."
Anyway, Wolf's Rain looks excellent and I can't wait for it to air. I'm sure it is one of the series that are going to get licensed eventually. The animation also looks excellent. Here (http://www.bones.co.jp/newsimg/w01.jpg) are some pictures in case anyone is interested.

Ok basicly I figure that animal brains were transfered into human bodies and vice versa, and the "wolves" seem to be the decendents of domesticated dogs hence why they say wolves lived with humans...

damn this Engrish

causes unhappiness in most conflicting ways to confuse...

and here it is in Advanced Engrish

The story line inserted between terrestrial glacial epoch, creative thing everyone was in the edge of extermination. Desire purpose was lost as for the people where someone lives 2 groups of the city (number and the commonness where the aristocrat is small) it is covered with the dome which is divided. The boy Kiba 1 appears in that kind of town. As for him there is no parent and a sibling who are the lonely wolf. However that outside is the wolf of wildness, the supersonic wave includes in the behavior of the scream of brain of the human, that outside is visible " like the human ". You had lived in society of the human of this town which is many of the wolf. A little those majority which has lived as an existence of the human of this town which obtains the food. However, the Kiba differs. The world where you aim for " the paradise " finally there is he. It is said and that the paradise is the only place, it has the pride which the wolf can live. The Tsume, the Hige and the Toboe believe the Kiba, traveling to the paradise starts.

there aint gonna be no more bebop series. Spike is dead... i know it sucks but it's true... that's just how they wanted to end it so get over it. However the idea of a new series by al the same people sounds interesting... hopefully they dont blow it...
