I usually don't open forwards from people I don't know, but this one just seemed interesting. It allows you to look at all the different incoming, outgoing, and in transit flights within an 80 mile radius of LAX. You can also look at the destinations, altitudes, etc, etc...really interesting stuff.

Yeah, to some it might be a bit of a yawn, but I thought it was pretty cool. I knew there were that many planes in the air, but when you see them all together like that, depicted on a screen, it goes to show just how the skies are swarming with activity.

I kinda wish I could check out the radar for the other major North American hub-airports (like Vancouver, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, New York, Montreal) but hey, LAX is fine for now.

Hey Timtwoface,

thanks for the great site.
no wonder LAX is one of the crowded airports in america.
I guess it shows how trained airport control tower personel are well trained with all that planes in the air.

I checked on the main page theres more airports to look at
like Boston and some others.
thanks again for the site.

woh, awesome! That is pretty dang nifty. Quite a lot of planes up in the air. Kind of amusing to see some nose to nose. Was a bit freaking seeing two "run" right over each other!

I thought I saw Superman but it was just a blue plane going by. Or a bird. One or the other. :)
