A long time ago on the Toonami board, someone posted a picture of this cute little Ryo-Ohki plush doll in a thread...

In case you didn't know, Ryo-Ohki is a cabbit (half cat, half rabbit) from the anime Tenchi Muyo. Anyway, I decided that it was time to buy it, so I went to Shop @ Cartoon Network.com. Luckily, they still had it and it was only $14.99, so I put it in the shopping cart and filled out their order form. But to my dismay, they will only accept CREDIT CARDS..... :( . *sigh* Looks like I won't be having Ryo-Ohki for Christmas this year.
This little thing inspired me to get a credit card. But the thing is, which credit card should I get? Which credit card is better? There are 4 major brands to choose from and I have no idea. So I'm asking for you help, which credit card should I choose and is there anything I need to know?
NOTE:
I know that I can't get a credit card until I'm 18 (and I'm only 17), but this is for when the time comes...

You know what... If you have a bank account talk to your bank to see if they do Check/Debit cards like Visa or MC have (I have Visa). They act like a credit card but take out money out of your account (only takes out what you have). AndI dont think you need to be 18 (since its also an ATM card) :p
BUT, if you dont I suggest strongly to shop around look at the costs, interest rates, etc. I like Visa so I am going to go with them (its like picking the lesser of the 3 evils :p ).

I say don't. I have been trying for the last 3 years trying to pay off teh debt from my cards.
If you need a credit card, ask your bank for a check debit card or sign up for the Paypal.com debit card. THey are both debit cards that work as if they are credit cards, and they don't put you in debt.

i'd take the visa, cause you'll rest assure that if you ever go to the olympics, you'll be sure to get accepted. :)

It doean't matter which one you get. The rates always rise and fall, so all credit cards are more or less equal. Just use them wisely.

As long as I have money in the bank I have nothing to worry about.

Aaaawwww......Ryo-ohki's so cuuute! ^.^ I have a backpack just like that :)
Umm.....I'd say get a Visa card, or maybe Discover. I haven't had many probs with the Visa card. Besides, they're everywhere you wanna be :D

Well, I have a Visa Platinum card. But it is on my parents account, so I don't have to pay the bills. :D However, I will say this, you best bet is Visa. We've never had a problem with them.
Also, be sure you don't get in over your head. The latest statistics show that a lot of college students are graduating with outstanding debts.

Hell yeah... I know many friends of mine who, during college, racked up $2,000 to $4,000 quickly for supplies and stuff and unable to pay them off. Thats why I went with the check card. If you get credit card, dont use it except for emergencies or when you know you'll have the money to pay for it at the end of the month. That way you dont rack up interest.

American Express is not as widely accepted, so do not choose that if you plan to use it frequently. Try not to use any of them excessively, or you'll be sorry.

As long as you pay it completely off at the end of the month, I don't see why not. My mom gave me a credit card and I use it to get my GTO DVD's. However what ever I buy I have to give my mom the complete amount before teh end of the month.
Since I only average 21 bucks a month it's not a hassel. She chooses to pay in installments but if it were me I'd just pay it all off at once. When I get a credit card that's 100 percent mine that's how I'll do it. I'm scared of debt so I know I'll be careful.
I have a Platinum Master Card, so that's what I voted for. Although if your being smart and paying it off at the end of the month it really doesn't matter.

I use a Mastercard. Both Mastercard & Visa seem to be accepted on almost every online store so either of them would be a good option.
I pay my monthly bill by direct debt ie. get the money taken directly from my bank account. I've also set myself a low credit limit to stop myself from overspending. The main problem with a credit card is that it makes shopping too easy... you could find yourself buying a lot more stuff simply because it's easy to do so. Setting yourself a low credit limit will help you defeat the urge to impulse buy
